Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of text-based Javanese language learning (text-based instruction) through communicative integrative approaches to student writing skills. This research method is an experimental study with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was class V Public Elementary School Tambakaji 05, Ngaliyan District, Semarang City in 2018/2019 with a sample of 43 students. Data collection used in this study for students' writing skills was measured using a performance test method with an instrument in the form of a learning implementation plan (RPP) and a performance sheet. Student confidence is measured by the non-test method in the form of observation sheets and documentation. Analysis of data used an independent sample t-test. The results showed as follows: there was an increase of 9.76 points higher in students' writing skills using Javanese text-based learning through an integrative approach. Learning Javanese text-based (Text-Based Instruction) through a communicative integrative approach is more effective in improving students' writing skills. The conclusion of the research is the learning of text-based Javanese language (Text-Based Instruction) through communicative integrative approaches effective in enhancing students' writing skills. The Javanese text-based learning model (Text-Based Instruction) through communicative integrative approach can help students who have difficulty learning Javanese texts.

Abstract

This study has a purpose of analyzing the implementation of nationalism values, the role of the principal, teachers, scout coaches, and obstacles in the implementation of scouting activities at Public Elementary School 3 Palu. This study was interactive qualitative research. Subjects who participated in the study were the principal, teachers, scoutmaster, and students. This study applied observations, interviews, and documentation for data collection techniques. The data in this study were analyzed using Miles and Huberman interactive models. The results showed that the values โ€‹โ€‹of nationalism were formed through the implementation of scouting activities including marching lines, singing national and regional songs, games, rigging, and campsites, The role of the principal and the teacher was to supervise, provide information and participate in a number of scout activities, and the role of the scoutmaster is to familiarize students with fun scouting activities, The obstacles found in its implementation were weather conditions, student activities outside of school as well as facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

This study has the purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the Open-Ended approach on students' problem-solving abilities. This type of study was an experimental research with a non-equivalent pre-test โ€“ post-test control group design. The population of the study was grade IV students of  Elementary School in Cluster of Jenderal Sudirman, Kebonagung District, Demak Regency in 2018/2019. Samples were taken by using a random sampling technique. Problem-solving ability as a dependent variable. And the Open-Ended approach as an independent variable. The method was used as an essay test item. The data analysis techniques were using Validity, Reliability, Difficulty test, Normality test, Homogeneity test, t-test, and N-gain test. Problem-solving ability can be improved by applying the PBL model with the open-ended approach. This can be shown based on the results of N-gain test is the average value of an experimental group is higher than the control group (0.7029 > 0.5118). The average N-Gain problem-solving ability of students taught using the PBL model with Open-Ended approach is higher than average N-Gain problem-solving ability of students taught using the PBL model.

Abstract

This study has the purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning model based on ethnomathematics with Selotigo batik motifs in improving students' problem-solving abilities. This study was true experimental design research. The sampling technique was done using random cluster sampling. The sample in this study was Public Elementary School Sidorejo Lor 07 Salatiga as an experimental class and Public Elementary School Sidorejo Lor 03 Salatiga as a control class with a total of 74 students. The data collection was done through observation, documentation, and test method. The data analysis was done using One-Sample t-test, Proportion Test, and Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that the PBL model based on ethnomathematics was effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities. This result was indicated by the average score of students' problem-solving ability in the learning using PBL model based on ethnomathematics which was above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) with KKM of problem-solving abilities of 75, the proportion of students completeness of problem-solving abilities in PBL model based on ethnomathematics was above 75% of the classical completeness, the average problem-solving ability of students in the PBL learning model based on ethnomathematics is better than the average problem-solving ability of students in the PBL model. Based on the result, it can be concluded that problem-solving in a PBL model based on ethnomathematics is effective in improving the problem-solving ability of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of learning of the CPS learning model on the ability to solve math problems in fifth-grade students and describe the patterns of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms of learning styles. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the subject of fifth-grade students at Public Elementary School 1 Kalibawang, Wonosobo consisting of 18 students. The instruments used in this study were test and interview instruments. Data analysis includes reduction, presentation of data, and conclusion. The results showed the quality of learning with the CPS learning model on the ability to solve mathematical problems in both categories. It is shown with the results of the validation of proper learning tools, good quality learning, and the average score of students completing. Students with convergent learning styles can solve problems until the stage of re-checking, but at the stage of planning problem-solving lacks detail. Students with divergent learning styles can solve problems up to the stage of checking back, and can solve them well. Students with an assimilation learning style can solve problem until the re-checking stage, but at the planning stage of problem-solving are not perfect. Students with accommodation learning style can solve problem until re-checking stage, but at the stage of carrying out problem solving are not complete.

Abstract

The implementation of character education in Indonesia show that students have not received proper and maximum character education services because the unavailabilities of integrated character mapped in a tiered and focused manner. This research conducts the integration of character values into the curriculum that is stated in the mathematics syllabus and learning devices for Junior High School grade VII, VIII, and IX that is based on ATONG (Amati Tanya Olah Nalar dan Gagas) in a tiered and focused manner. This research aims to design syllabus and learning devices based on the ATONG approach that integrated character education; produce a valid syllabus and learning devices; and test the effectiveness of the coordinate system learning based on the ATONG approach with Eliciting Activities model that integrated hard work character. This research refers to the Borg & Gall model (2003) which is modified into 5 steps. The learning devices test was conducted in sampling method in grade VIII SMP Kartika XII. The result of expert validation shows that the syllabus and learning devices are valid with a score of 3.60 which is considered as very good; the learning devices test results in an effective learning. This research is success to map characters in a focused and tiered manner on innovative mathematics learning. The mapping of specific cognitive and psychomotor abilities is indispensable because the mapping in the syllabus is still general.

Abstract

In the PISA study, Indonesian students are still meet in solving questions focused on mathematical connections which is shown by the ability of students to use Mathematics that they learn to solve problems in everyday life. The research objectives were knowing the quality of mathematical connection skills and measuring the increase in mathematical connection ability after the model of ICARE social simulation was implemented. The type of research used is mixed methods with research designs concurrent embedded. The results of research on ICARE model learning through quality social simulation, showed the ability of mathematical connections has reached classical completeness more than 75% and students' mathematical connection ability in ICARE model learning through social simulation is higher than that of students with expository learning. Mathematical connection ability of students in the experimental class increased by 0.538 in the medium category, while students in the control class increased by 0.375 in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the generative learning of quality in in creasing problem solving abilities, to test the effect of learning independence on problem solving abilities, and to define problem solving abilities in terms of learning independence. This research method is mixed methods with concurrent triangulation model. The population of this research were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Semarang in 2018/2019 academic year, and samples were taken by cluster random sampling. The technique collection of data used such as a questionnaire of learning independence, a test of problem solving skills, documentation, observation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used the average similarity test, the proportion test, the average similarity test (two-sample t test), and simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that students have good problem solving skills because of the enthusiasm in mathematics, understanding concepts, and feeling mastered the material. The study also showed that the generative learning model was declared effective, by indicators namely the problem solving ability of students reaching KKM (Minimum Mastery Criteria), the generative model produced problem solving abilities and students learning independence better than PBL (Problem Bae Learning), and the problem solving abilities of students to the generative model that affected their learning independence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop learning tool of Guided Inquiry learning model, in term of Ethnomathematics contained validity, effectiveness, and practicability of the learning model. The design of this study is Research and Development (R&D) from Thiagarajan with 4D, namely define, design, develop and dissemination, at the define step which is to find the problem of low mathematical values, at this design stage planning syllabus, lesson plans, learning devices are designed. At the development stage the author combine mathematics and Cirebon culture in a learning tools, and than final stage dissemination learning tools. Limited trial of learning device is conducted in SDN 1 Kalitengah, trial design is using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. SDN 2 Kalitengah is as experimental class and SDN 3 Kalitengah as control class. The technique of collecting data in this study is with test technique and non-test technique. Non-test technique in this study is using observation method, documentation, and questionnaire. The instrument of study is observation sheet, validity sheet of learning device of Guided Inquiry contained Ethnomathematics. The technique of analyzing data is using pre-requirement test (validity test, reliability test, different power, difficulty level, normality test, and homogeneity test), N-gain test, and independent sample t test. The result of study, learning device that is developed categorized valid to be used with score result on the average lesson plan (RPP) 3.35, Syllabus 3.46, teaching materials 3.43, student work sheet (LKS) 3.37 and study result test 3.49. The result of effectiveness of learning device shows progress of mean of study result before applying in number 61.97 and after applying in number of 89.72, N-gain score of experimental class in number of 0.73.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model with Simeli media on cognitive learning outcomes and inter-intrapersonal skills of Grade VI students on science subjects electrical energy materials. The research design used is quantitative quasi-experiment. The population of the research was Grade VI Elementary School students in Jumo District. Sampling technique by purposive sampling, obtained from students as many as 22 from Public Elementary School 1 Jombor, 25 from Public Elementary School Giyono, and 23 from Public Elementary School 1 Kertosari. Research data on cognitive learning outcomes and inter-intrapersonal skills were obtained from tests and observations. Data analysis using Anova test with the help of SPSS 25. The results obtained by an average of cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class I was 92.50, experimental class II was 92.72, and control class was 70.13. The average inter-intrapersonal skills of experimental class I was 82.41, experimental class II was 81.48, and control class was 73.13. These data indicate that the average cognitive learning outcomes and inter-intrapersonal skills of the experimental class are higher than that of the control class. Anova test on cognitive learning outcomes showed Fvalue = 116.210 with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, while the Anova test results on inter-intrapersonal skills showed Fvalue = 13.088 with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion of the CTL model with simile media affects improving cognitive learning outcomes, and inter-intrapersonal skills of Grade VI students on science subjects electric energy material.
