Abstract

This research aims to (1) find out the quality the ethno-mathematics of Thinking Aloud Pairs Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning (2) discover the pattern of mathematic communication ability the ethno-mathematics of Thinking Aloud Pairs Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning. This research uses mixed method type with concurrent embedded design. Quantitative and qualitative research runs together which the qualitative research is as the primer method. The qualitative learning is assessed from (1) planning and preparation, (2) classroom environment and instruction, and (3) evaluation (professional responsibility) stages. The result of this studies shows that the qualitative learning the ethno-mathematics of Thinking Aloud Pairs Problem Solving (TAPPS) is a good categorized. The pattern of student’s mathematic communication with upper group is a student who can explain their ideas and situation in written language appropriately. Students who can express their ideas and situation on the facing problem in mathematics model appropriately and correctly. A student who can use the mathematical formula correctly to solve the problem. The pattern of student’s mathematic communication with medium group is a student who can explain the ideas and situation in written language appropriately. A student who can express their ideas and situation facing the problem into mathematic mode appropriately and correctly. The student who is not able to use the formula to face the problem. The pattern of student’s mathematic communication with lower group is student who can express their ideas and situation in written language appropriately. A student who can express their ideas and situation facing the problem intro mathematic model appropriately and correctly. A student who is not able to use the mathematical formula correctly to solve the problem.
Development of Education Games Map Material as a Learning Media for Elementary School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the development needs and characteristics of education games learning media based on the perceptions of teachers and students, compile and validate education games learning media and test the effectiveness of learning education learning media at Public Elementary School Jatibarang Lor 02. The type of research used is research and development. These stages of research and development include potential problems, product manufacturing, product validation, product revisions, and product trials. Based on the results of the needs analysis, it can be concluded that the development of learning education learning media is in accordance with the characteristics of teachers and students including material aspects, presentation aspects, linguistic aspects, and graphic aspects. These characteristics are developed into education games learning media products that are ready for expert validation testing. Based on the validation test, education games learning media got a score of 84 with good categories. After going through expert validation tests, then the learning media is tested on students. The results showed that education games learning media were effective and could improve cognitive learning outcomes and skills of students at Public Elementary School Jatibarang Lor 02. So, it can be concluded that this education games learning media became one of the solutions in learning elementary school students, especially on map material.

Abstract

Education is the spearhead of the progress of a nation. One factor in the formation of quality education must be balanced with quality of learning so that it has an effect on good student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research was to find out the benefit of numbered heads together (NHT) model assisted with audio visual media on the material of story elements in improving student learning outcomes of grade V. Data collection techniques was done by using learning outcomes test. The processing of the moderator variable test was done by using SPSS statistics 25 with moderated regression analysis technique with the first analysis by using the F test and the second analysis by using the R square value. The results showed that (1) the NHT model and audio visual media simultaneously influenced the student learning outcomes as evidenced in the F test of 0.000 < of the probability of 0.05; (2) the NHT model affects student learning outcomes by 38.9%, while the remaining 61.1% is influenced by other variables outside this regression; (3) The NHT model with audio visual media affects student learning outcomes by 58.4%, whereas, the remaining 41.6% is influenced by other variables outside this regression.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the positive character and learning outcomes of students in Civic Education by using the talking stick model assisted by audio-visual media. The type of research is a mixed method with concurrent embedded research designs. The qualitative data were obtained from are interview, observation, and documentation. The quantitative data were obtained from learning outcome and questionnaire. The quantitative analysis uses proportion test, independent sample t-test, and regression testing. Whereas the qualitative analysis includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this research were (1) The positive character of N-gain in the experimental class was 0.65 and the control class was 0.15 The most prominent character in this learning process was the brave attitude because talking stick model stimulate students to express their opinions while the character that was not optimal is responsibility where some students have not yet contributed to their group. (2) There was an increase in learning outcomes, proven that the learning outcomes of N-gain in the experimental class was 0.76 and the control class was 0.49. (3) The implementation of this learning model was 83.3%, students’ responses to every aspect of the questions was more than 75% and the average N-gain of learning outcomes showed that the experimental class was higher than the control class. The conclusion of this research is the application of the Talking Stick model assisted by audio-visual media can improve the positive character and students’ learning outcomes in Civic Education.
Sentra Nasima Learning Strategies to Enhance Religious Nationalist Characters in Kindergarten

Abstract

The challenge of globalization put character education as an important part of realizing quality human beings. The purpose of this study was to describe the learning strategies of sentra nasima kindergarten school in developing religious nationalist characters among students. Subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years who attended Nasima Kindergarten. The research design uses qualitative research using the CIPP model. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is justified by means of technical triangulation and source triangulation. Learning strategies to enhance nationalistic characters of 5-6 year olds in sentra nasima kindergarten include: performing flag ceremonies, respecting flags, singing Indonesian Raya songs, singing compulsory songs, wearing traditional Javanese clothes (for female students wearing kebaya clothes and jarik skirts), while for male students wearing sorjan clothes, black cloth pants and blangkon accessories), wearing red and white pins, wearing batik clothes, national holidays, playing traditional musical instruments, playing national custom puppets, watching films about nationalism, playing puzzel batik patterns, playing pandhawa puppets, playing punokawan puppets, singing folk songs from various regions in Indonesia, reading reading books about nationalist characters, and dancing traditional dances from various regions in Indonesia. Learning strategy to enhance religious character in children aged 5-6 years in sentra nasima kindergarten, among others: practice wudhu, practice sholat together, dzikir together, prayer together, make giving charity to be their habit, practice saving to buy sacrificial animals, learn to recite hijaiyyah, memorizing short Hijaiyyah letters, memorizing hadiths, memorizing daily prayers, praying for sick friends, visiting orphanages, commemorating Islamic holidays, fasting at school, gathering with neighbors around Nasima Kindergarten, and munaqosah (public test of the increase in volumes of the Qur’an recitation). Efforts to enhance nationalist and religious character at the sentra nasima are carried out through a process of intervention and habituation. Character education is carried out in three domains. First, the development of nationalist and religious character values that are integrated into teaching and learning activities in the middle class. Second domain, integrating character education with extracurricular activities and school culture. The third domain involves student guardians to help build habituations that are in line with those developed in schools.

Abstract

Various problems in learning to write poetry are factors that trigger the low ability to write poetry for fifth grade students of SD Negeri in Kedungjati District. Problems experienced by students in learning to write poetry include teacher explanations that tend to be boring, motivation, difficult to express ideas, and the most problematic problems for students are learning models that tend to be monotonous. Effective learning models become one of the important factors for teachers or students in improving students' ability to write the poem. One learning model that can improve students' writing skills is Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD) learning model, because the STAD model can collaborate several language skills, and requires students to work together in groups. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of learning to write poetry with the STAD model. This research uses a quasi-experimental method. The subject of this research was the fifth grade students of elementary school in Kedungjati Subdistrict 2017/2018 Academic Year. Data collection uses tests and non-tests. Data analysis techniques using t test with the help of SPSS program. The results of learning to write poetry between before and after being given learning to write poetry with the STAD model with the acquisition of t count = 7.848 with sig < 0.05. The results of this research indicate that learning to write poetry with the STAD model can effectively improve students' poetry writing skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of Think Talk Write learning with realia media compared to expository learning on students' mathematical communication ability. This study applied a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done by using simple random sampling technique; therefore, the sample obtained was SD N 9 Panggang as the experimental class and SD N 2 Bulu as the control class with a total of 78 students. The data collection technique used in this study was the achievement test of learning outcomes by comparing the test scores of the two groups by using the z-test and t-test. The results showed that the Think Talk Write learning with realia media was effective in improving students' mathematical communication ability as indicated by the acquisition of z-test results obtained by zcount > ztable = 2.868 > 0.174 which means that students who were taught by using Think Talk Write had achieved classical completeness by 75%. These results were supported by the results of the independent sample t-test which showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 smaller than 0.05, which means that the average value of mathematical communication ability of students who follow the Think Talk Write learning with realia media was higher than the expository. Think Talk Write learning with realia media can be used as an easy solution for teachers to improve students 'mathematical communication ability.
The Use of Monopoly Media to Improve Primary Student’s Critical Thinking Skills in Science Learning

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the difference improvement of critical thinking skills by using inquiry model assisted with monopoly media with direct instruction learning model in Primry Schools. The method used in this research was a type of quantitative research methods especially Non equivalent of pre-test and post-test control group design was used with 77 students as the research subjects of Diponegoro distric at Sempor Kebumen. The data collection techniques used were test, interviews, observation. The results of the present research showed that the critical thinking skills of students by using inquiry model assisted with monopoly media is better than those taught by direct instruction learning model and the result of the t-test obtained significance value of 0.003 < 0.05. The percentage of critical value of subject matter of Science Learning based on students worksheets (LKS) and experiments for high critical criteria are 13.88%, critical criteria 66.67%, moderate critical criteria 19.44%. Then, the average final scores of students in the experimental class was 80.52% and the control class was 74.63%, While the stage of average critical thinking was at the level 4 which is to formulate arguments and determine the outcome of the consideration by the integration between initial concept and experiment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of inquiry model assisted with monopoly media is more effective used than that of direct instruction learning model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop interactive multimedia learning to introduce religious and moral values (prayer and ablution) for kindergarten. Multimedia forms in compact disk (CD) format. This research method is research and development. The subjects of this research were 47 students of kindergarten. The results of the research have been developed by Interactive Multimedia Learning in kindergarten students with good categories according to expert validation and suitable for learning. Based on t-test obtained tvalue is smaller than ttable = 0.05 which shows that the implementation of Interactive Learning Ablution and Prayer Multimedia can significantly introduce religious and moral values. By implementing CDs on learning students can get to know the stage of ablution and prayer and practice them. In practice there are still difficulties experienced by student. In ablution activities that is when washing feet and prayer activities while sitting between two prostrations.
The Contributions of Teacher's Pedagogical Habitual to the Quality of Learning Services for Children with Special Needs in Inclusive Elementary Schools

Abstract

Inclusion education at Elementary School is a solution for providing education services for children with special needs who cannot access education at the Extraordinary School so that children with special needs are academically served. Organizing learning in inclusive schools cannot be separated from the role of the teacher. This study aims to determine the contribution of teacher pedagogical habitual to the quality of learning services for children with special needs in inclusive elementary schools in Brebes Regency. The focus of this research is teacher pedagogical habitual towards the implementation of quality learning services for children with special needs in the implementation of inclusive schools in elementary schools. The sample is 35 children. The analysis test used is a Regression test. The results of the F test indicate that the significance value is 0.000. The significant value < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a contribution of teacher's pedagogical habitual to the quality of learning services for children with special needs in inclusive schools in Brebes Regency and shows the direction of positive contributions. R square value obtained in the calculation is 0.531. This means that pedagogical habits have an effect of 53% on the quality of inclusion learning services, and 47% are influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The results of the F test indicate that the significance value is 0.000. The significant value < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a contribution of teacher's pedagogical habitual to the quality of learning services for children with special needs in inclusive schools in Brebes Regency and shows the direction of positive contributions.
