Abstract

The availability of teaching materials that can increase the activeness and independence of children's learning, especially beginner swimmers in the efficiency of improving the ability of motion techniques, greatly affects the quality and success and ability of students to digest the material and increase their own interest to always be enthusiastic in the swimming learning process. The purpose of this study is to produce swimming learning modules in increasing interest in learning and efficiency of swimming motion techniques in children. The method used in this research is (Research and Development) from Borg and Gall which consists of ten steps. This study uses research instruments in the form of interviews with prospective module users including children and beginner swimmers to find out the response to the module. Based on the student response questionnaire, the results obtained were students' interest and positive responses to the modules that had been made. At the development stage the product was produced in the form of a swimming learning module for beginners, validated by 6 experts, and a questionnaire in response to the module. The module testing phase was conducted in 20 children who are beginner swimmers in several Semarang City clubs. Modules are prepared by taking into account aspects of the accuracy of the contents, digestibility of modules, stages of swimming, module attractiveness, appearance, and use of language and terms. Overall, the modules produced were declared valid and according to the experts included in the criteria were eligible to be used. Modules were produced with design and content components that have been tailored to the needs of users.

Abstract

Butterfly stroke speed requires better muscle strength and flexibility from the swimmer than other swimming styles. This study aimed to analyze the effect of arm muscle strength, leg muscles, and torso flexibility on improving the results of butterfly swimming training in athletes. The research method used was the experiment with two groups, pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 60 swimming athletes in Brebes Regency in 2019. Before being given the training program, the athletes were tested for the strength of the arm muscles, leg muscles, torso flexibility and butterfly speed of 50 meters, then given a butterfly swimming exercise with a frequency of 4x/week for 1 (one) month after participating in the training program and then testedthe swimming speed to see an improvement in training results. The results showed that r count (0.787)> r table (0.632) so that Hypothesis 1 (H1) was accepted, then r count (0.907)> r table (0.632) so that Hypothesis2 (H2) was accepted and r count (0.704)> r table (0.632) so that Hypothesis3 (H3) was accepted. The conclusion of this research is the butterfly stroke speed of 50 meters is significantly influenced by the strength of the arm muscles, leg muscle strength, and the flexibility of the athlete's foot.

Abstract

Weak throwing power will cause a lower throw rate so that it would be easy to be anticipated by an opponent's goalkeeper. Therefore, weight and shooting training is essential for handball athletes. This research aims to find out differences in weight and shooting training toward shooting skills and the interaction of shooting and weight training toward handball athletes' shooting skills. This research applied a 2x2 factorial design. The population consisted of 50 handball athletes in Pati municipality while the samples were taken by purposive sampling. The dependent variables were weight training using rubber and medicine balls and shooting practice with bounding takeoff compared to shooting training without bounding takeoff. The dependent variable was handball shooting. The applied data analysis was two-variant analysis (ANOVA) with significant level α=0,05.Shooting training with leap-with jump and medicine ball-weight training obtained an average score of 45.95 with a standard deviation of deviation 2.724. Shooting training with leap-without jumping and medicine ball-weight training obtained an average score 44.30 with a standard of deviation 3.262; shooting training without leap-with jump and rubber ball training obtained an average score 42.55 with a standard of deviation 2.762; shooting training with a leap-without jump and rubber ball-weight training obtained an average score 36.65 with a standard of deviation 2.834. There was an interaction between shooting training method and weight training toward shooting skill result with a Sig score = 0.002 < 0.05. The conclusion proves there was an influence between weight training with a medicine ball. It was effective than using a rubber ball to improve shooting skills. The shooting training method without leap-with jump was better than the shooting method with a leap-without jump. There was an interaction of the shooting method without leap-with jump and medicine ball-weight training. It was effective in improving handball shooting.
