Abstract

The background of this research is the low mathematical creative thinking process of class VII B SMP Muhammadiyah Tonjong Brebes Regency in solving mathematical problems of one-variable linear equations and inequalities. One of the influencing factors is the personality type possessed by students, both extrovert and introvert personality types. This study aims to determine students' mathematical creative thinking processes in solving mathematical problems of one-variable linear equations and inequalities in terms of the extrovert and introvert personality types of students at SMP Muhammadiyah Tonjong, Brebes Regency. This type of research is Mix Method Research (MMR). The subjects of this study were students in class VII B at SMP Muhammadiyah Tonjong, Brebes Regency, for the 2022/2023 academic year, with a total of 6 subjects. The instruments in this study were personality questionnaires to determine students' personality types, both extroverted and introverted, and written test instruments to assess students' mathematical creative thinking processes. Based on the analysis that has been done, the extrovert personality type students, with a total of 17 students, are divided from the creative group of 6 students who meet all four indicators (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration), the moderately creative group of 7 students fulfills three indicators (fluency, flexibility, and elaboration ), and four students in the less creative group fulfilled two indicators (flexibility and originality). While students with introverted personality types, a total of 14 students were divided into creative groups of 2 students fulfilling all four indicators (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration), moderately creative groups of 9 students fulfilling three indicators (fluency, originality, and elaboration), and three students in the group less creative does not meet one of the four indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe learning difficulties according to Cooney on algebraic from material in terms of students’ mathematical anxiety. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were selected as many as 5 (five) who met the criteria in accordance with the research objective of 57 students. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that students experience different mathematical anxiety when working on math problem in each somatic aspect, cognitive aspect, attitude aspect and mathematical knowledge aspect. Learners with different levels of mathematical anxiety have different learning difficulties. Learners with very high anxiety levels and high anxiety levels experience difficulties in each indicator of difficulty. Learners with moderate anxiety levels do not experience difficulties in the use of concepts, but difficulties in the use of principles and solving verbal problems. Learners with low anxiety levels did not experience difficulties in the use of principles and solving verbal problems but sometimes had difficulty in using principles. Learners with very low anxiety levels did not experience difficulties with each indicator. The Factors that cause mathematical anxiety and mathematics learning difficulties arise because students feel nervous about explaining the results of mathematical work in front of the class because they are not sure that the answers given are correct. Abstract

This study analyses what factors make online learning outcomes better than offline. It is crucial to know whether there are other supporting factors or factors from the students' abilities. The method used in this research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach with six research subjects. The selection of subjects in this study was by purposive sampling. Collecting data in this study using task-based interviews, namely: (1) selecting research subjects; (2) determining the time of data collection; (3) carrying out data collection; (4) analysing data; (5) comparing the results of online and offline data collection; and (6) conclude the results of the analysis. The results of the analysis of this study are that the application of online learning methods and offline methods has little effect on material understanding, enthusiasm and independence in learning. The things that need attention are not the learning method, but how we can foster a good and consistent spirit for education, especially for students with medium and low abilities, it is vital to increase the excitement for learning in all learning methods because, with a consistent enthusiasm for learning, students will be happy. And active when participating in class learning both with online and offline modes.
