Abstract

The purpose of the Subject Teachers Consultation (STC/MGMP) will be if the teachers are skilled, accustomed and able to develop various activities that are able to support teacher competencies. One of the activities carried out was to participate in the Community Partnership Program (PKM) program development activities with LPTKs such as Pasundan University. The STC included in the Community Partnership Program (CPP/PKM) is the Bandung and City Mathematics STC. Problems with both partners are: (1) Some teachers do not know SPSS and its benefits in research, (2) Understanding of some teachers in collecting data according to the formulation of research problems is still lacking, (3) Some teachers do not know e-learning applications that use video conference. This problem has an impact on the inhibition of research and an increase in the rank of teachers. Approach methods used to overcome problems with training, mentoring, and mentoring. The two partners' solution-resolution procedures will be carried out by the team as follows: (1) Training, mentoring and mentoring in using SPSS features, (2) Training in using e-learning applications (3) Training, mentoring, and mentoring in collect data according to the formulation of research problems. CPP was attended by 14 Mathematics Teachers from the City of Bandung, and 17 Mathematics Teachers from Bandung Regency who were each from the Bandung City and Regency STC. The first meeting resulted in the following conclusions: (1) The quality of CPP in formulating problems, testing instruments, using SPSS features, and video conferencing conducted was very good, (2) The ability of teachers to understand, master, and train in making either test or non-test research instruments are in a pretty good category, (3) the teacher's ability to input data according to data or the scale of the data is in a good category, (4) The teacher's ability to use video conferencing to get guidance and assistance in doing the work is in good category.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine students 'attitudes or perceptions of mathematics learning, attitudes towards the Application of PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflection, Recite, Review) Learning Strategies, and problem posing mathematical problems. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive data analysis, and quantitative analysis was carried out using the Likert scale. The population in this study were Year 11 students in the city of Bandung, and the sample was one of Year 11 Social classroom as the experimental class, selected by purposive sampling. The sample was given treatment using PQ4R learning. The results showed that students taking PQ4R learning had significant attitudes towards mathematics. This can be seen from the high interest and motivation. Student responses to PQ4R learning and questions were also very good. This provides good information about students' attitudes towards learning mathematics in high school so that they can apply good and correct mathematics. Learning mathematics requires an analysis of students' attitudes to feel happy and motivated in learning mathematics on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Continuous treatment is needed in developing mathematical dispositions. Even at the higher education level, some prospective teachers still need proper treatment in developing their mathematical dispositions. This study tries to reveal instructors' role in fostering their students' mathematical disposition to better didactical situations. This study is qualitative research with a content analysis approach. The results obtained in this study indicate that the instructor's role is still needed in the classroom regardless of the students' mathematical disposition. Instructors ' expected learning role becomes diverse based on the mathematical disposition grouping between good, moderate, and less mathematical dispositions. For prospective teachers who have an excellent mathematical disposition, the instructor's role is to confirm a theorem, confirm answers to questions, and the benefits of contextual topics. For prospective teachers who have a satisfactory mathematical disposition, the instructor's role is to motivate, direct the learning, and keep the classroom conductivity. Whereas for prospective teachers deficient in mathematical disposition, the instructor's role is needed as a direct learning source, structured learning director, and an enjoyable learning rhythm.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy ability is an important ability possessed by students. However in reality mathematical literacy ability is still low. One of the learning models that can help to improve mathematical literacy ability is the PBL model with GeoGebra. This study aims to find out the increase in mathematical literacy ability of students who obtain PBL model with GeoGebra is higher than those who obtain ordinary learning model. The method in this study is quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group desain. The population of this study was XI students SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung for academic year 2022/2023. The research instrument used was a description test of the ability to mathematical literacy. Processing and analyzingd data on the difference between the two averages using thr Mann-Whitney U test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the increase in mathematical literacy ability of students who obtain PBL model with GeoGebra is higher than those who obtain ordinary learning model.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy ability is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students to solve problems in the form of word problems that are related to problems in the real world, so that find solutions to mathematical problems requires learning independence. The learning model that can improve mathematical literacy skills is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The PBL model involves students being active in finding solutions to everyday life problems. This study aims to analyze the increase in mathematical literacy skills and student learning independence through the PBL model. The research method used in this study is a systematic review method, namely identifying, evaluating, and concluding on research results that are similar to a particular research topic. Based on this research, it can be concluded that (1) The PBL model can improve mathematical literacy skills, (2) The PBL model can inscrease student learning independence.

Abstract

In modern education, especially in higher degree programs, disposition was one of several factors that highly affected the learning process. The purpose of this research was to foster mathematical disposition among prospective teachers through a technology approach. POM-QM represented technology embedded into the learning process. Each cycle started with planning the embedding of technology into learning, realizing the plan by engaging a model teacher and an observer, and then ending with reflection to improve the next learning process to be applied to another class or the next topic. This lesson study began at the very beginning of linear programming. The conclusion was that the chapter design was able to foster mathematical dispositions. Some other affective and cognitive skills were known to have improved. The conclusion also covered some other unwritten but proper actions to take in the learning process based on lesson study reflection and evaluation. It was hoped that subsequent researchers would be able to implement lesson study activities during lecture activities.

Abstract

This research is driven by Indonesia's comparatively low performance in the 2023 PISA assessment, which indicates a significant deficiency in students' capacity to solve literacy-based mathematical problems, largely attributable to the absence of comprehensive, structured guidance. This consequently gives rise to low levels of mathematical literacy, thereby underscoring the necessity for enhanced learning methodologies. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) model in enhancing students' mathematical literacy abilities in comparison to the traditional learning approach. This study employed a quasi-experimental methodology with an unequal control group design. The research subjects were 72 grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Baleendah, comprising 36 experimental group students (grade VIII K) and 36 control group students (grade VIII L). The data were obtained through mathematical literacy tests and subsequently analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the assistance of IBM SPSS 24.0 software. The results of the n-gain analysis indicated that the data were normally distributed with homogeneous variances. The results of the independent sample t-test indicated a statistically significant difference in the improvement of mathematical literacy skills between the two groups, with the BBL group exhibiting a greater degree of improvement than the conventional method. These findings contribute to the scientific literature on the effectiveness of the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) model in addressing low mathematical literacy in Indonesia, with statistically significant improvements. This research provides new insights into the application of brain-based learning models in the Indonesian educational context.
