Abstract

Waste cooking oil is one of the B3 wastes produced by industrial or household activities. Since this waste cooking oil will cause pollution to the environment, hence it cannot be disposed directly into the environment. Reuse of this cooking oil through a refining process is an alternative way to reduce the amount of waste cooking oil. This study aims to determine the effect of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) as an activator and the effect of contact time on water content, free fatty acid levels, and saponification levels. In this study, we used waste cooking oil that has been heated for 9 hours and 11 hours. The mass of activated carbon used was 7.5 gr, 12.5 gr and 14.5 gr, and the contact times were 9 hours, 120 hours and 144 hours. The results showed that the lowest water content was 47,81% achieved by waste cooking oil heated for 11 hours and 14,5 gr of activated carbon, whereas free fatty acid was reduced until 29,7% on waste cooking oil heated 9 hours and 14,5 gr of activated carbon.

Abstract

The problem that is commonly found in manufacturing companies is how to carry out the production process effectively and efficiently. Especially doing maintenance on machines to get optimal production results. The P1-29 machine is one of the machines from a metal stamping company that produces automotive parts with stamping as the main process. The P1-29 machine is often unusable for the production process due to downtime. This study aims to determine  factors that can cause downtime on the P1-29 machine in order to reduce the downtime. Therefore, an appropriate concept is needed to identify the performance of the production process with optimal effectiveness, efficiency and reducing the downtime. This appropriate concept is called by the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method assisted by Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams, also kaizen five-m checklist and 5W + 1H analysis. The OEE value of the P1-29 engine for the period January-March 2022 is 62%. From this value, it can be seen that the OEE level does not meet the standards set by JIPM, which is >85%. The factors causing downtime on the P1-29 machine consist of various factors from the six big losses with the highest factor being the setup and adjustment losses of 17.47%. From the results of the fishbone diagram analysis, the factors that lead to the high value of setup and adjustment losses consist of human, material, machine, method and environmental aspects.

Abstract

In this's era, the measuring instruments used in the machining process still use a lot of mechanical principles and there are only a few that are combined with electrical components. Most of the measuring instruments that exist now are only linear and there are still few that can measure the shape of the contour. One of the tools that can be used to measure contours is CMM, but the price of this tool is very expensive. The need for tools for this contour measurement process is very much needed in the industrial world because some parts of the industry have various contour shapes and are difficult if measured without using a CMM machine. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to make a measuring instrument for contour mapping using electronic sensors. The manufacture and design of measuring instruments start with designing electricity and hardware, then continues with microcontroller programming and Matlab. This measuring instrument is then tested for linear distance measurement accuracy, accuracy per angle, and accuracy of contour shapes. The results showed that the size results had a maximum deviation of 10 millimeters with a maximum distance of 500 millimeters. The 0° angle is the worst reading angle with a deviation of 8.67 millimeters, while the 90° and 180° angles are the best reading angles with a deviation of 1 millimeter. Square and rectangular shapes can be represented quite well, while triangular shapes are less well represented due to their angles being far from perpendicular to the sensor.

Abstract

PT. XX is one of the car wheel rim companies in Indonesia whose products are sent to a number of local and international assembly companies. The main goal of this research is to forecast the demand for car wheel rim production using three forecasting methods at PT. XX. The research results are in the form of the value of demand forecasting calculation along with the error rate. It is known that there are three methods used, namely Single Moving Average, Weighted Moving Average, and Single Exponential Smoothing methods. Based on calculations from the POM-QM software, the method that is suitable to be applied in this research is the Weighted Moving Average method because the smallest error value is obtained as in the MAPE error value is 12.124%, the Mean error value is 1177.773 the MAD error value is 24587.23, the MSE error value is 1099377000, and the forecast value in the next period is 243013 units. Through this research and forecasting, the writer hoped that PT. XX could consider it a plan for the next batch of production.

Abstract

This study discusses the project completion time in the construction of a utility located in the Bogor E-Commerce Hub warehouse using the CPM and PERT methods. In addition, the critical path in the sequence of project activities will also be identified using a Network Diagram. At the end of the discussion of this study, the probability or probability of completing this project is calculated and how big is the probability or possibility if this project is accelerated or slowed down. There are 13 sequences of activities in this project with a total time of 105 days and the activities that require the longest time are finishing activities which take 29 days and the shortest activity is 1 day. From the critical path analysis using the Network Diagram, it was found that all activities in this project are critical activities that cannot be postponed and must be carried out immediately after the previous activity has been completed. In the calculation using the CPM method, the results of the project completion are 105 days, while for the PERT calculation the results are 104.5 days. The probability of this project's completion time being accelerated to 104 days is 40.90%.

Abstract

Competition strategy needs to be done to retain consumers. With case studies at outlets X fried chicken and Y fried chicken have problems in retaining consumers, so it is necessary to have a strategy for competition and analysis of opportunities for consumer movement. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method and literature study. To complete the case studies at X fried chicken and Y fried chicken outlets, the Game Theory method was used to select the optimal strategy to win the competition and the Markov Chain method to analyze opportunities for consumer switching. The results of processing using the game theory method of the two players namely outlets X fried chicken and Y fried chicken have the same value, therefore both players have a pure strategy, where X fried chicken uses a strategy in terms of taste and Y fried chicken uses a strategy in terms of price. With the Markov Chain method, there was a decrease in consumer movement of X fried chicken from period 0 (current period) to period 5 (5th month period) from 89.7% to 37.3% and there was an increase in consumer movement of Y fried chicken from period 0 (current period) to period 5 (5 month period) ranging from 10.3% to 62.7%.

Abstract

Development will never stop, continue to grow and develop in accordance with the demands of human needs and the times. The rapid development growth in Indonesia needs to be supported by the development of innovation in the world of construction which is felt to have a far more positive impact on workers. Work in the construction sector is always limited by deadlines and costs but must produce work of good quality. One of the new innovations is the application of technology in the world of construction towards the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, namely i-Construction. I-Construction is a method that can increase productivity by utilizing IT, IoT, spatial information processing technology, robotization technology, etc. [4]. With i-Construction it can enable more readiness and efficiency thereby increasing productivity. This research was conducted using the bibliometric method in national and international journals and scientific articles, observing the construction industry in Indonesia. From the research it was found that i-Construction in the construction industry in Indonesia had only started in the last few years, which was marked by the limited application of i-Construction. The Indonesian government is also still lacking in investing in the research and development sector in terms of construction technology. These findings are expected to be the basis for initiating the application of i-Construction in the Indonesian construction industry.

Abstract

Fire is an emergency condition that does not know the situation or time when it can occur and is difficult to control which can cause material loss and life safety. In a fire there is what is called the Flammable Range, which is the limit between the minimum and maximum concentration of a mixture of fuel vapor and air (oxygen) which can explode or ignite at any time if a heat source is provided. Range, place, time and security factors are the main causes of the difficulty of the fire control process. In order to help and simplify the process of extinguishing fires, a tool was developed that can be used in fighting fires. This tool is expected to be able to throw a ball-shaped type of dry chemical powder fire extinguisher, because it is faster and more effective for extinguishing fires in tall buildings so that the fire does not spread and cause more fatal damage. This tool is called a firefighting system, which utilizes drone or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology. Drones and firefighting systems are flown to reach high places, avoid obstacles, and can fly long distances with the aim of minimizing risks that threaten safety in controlling fires. This research uses the VDI 2222 (Verein Deutsche Inginieuer 2222) design method, starting with problem identification, selecting alternative concept variations, determining component specifications, construction calculations and detailed design. Alternative Variation Concept 1 was obtained as the selected design concept, with a score of 420 (84%) for the Technical Assessment and a score of 360 (72%) for the Economic Assessment. This fire fighting system has installation dimensions on the drone of 600x600x400 mm, the weight of the tool and 3 balls is 12 kg, the throw distance is 5.05 m, the initial speed is 15,6604 m/s, the target can be at a height of 9,512 m.

Abstract

Fast and stable internet access has become an essential requirement in daily activities. To meet this need, subscribing to internet packages has emerged as a viable solution. Therefore, the development of a user interface (UI) for a mobile application that facilitates internet package subscriptions is crucial. This study aims to design the user interface of a mobile application called Juwana, which allows users to easily purchase internet subscription packages and enhance user satisfaction. The User Centered Design (UCD) method was employed in this research. The UI design of the Juwana application was developed by analyzing user requirements, designing solutions based on those requirements, and conducting usability testing using Maze and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The results of this study present the design of the Juwana application's user interface, consisting of 13 interfaces. Maze testing indicated that all testing scenarios yielded the expected outcomes. The SUS testing results showed that the Juwana application design prototype obtained an average score of 75.7 with a grade scale of C, a Good adjective rating, and fell within the Acceptable category. Based on the findings and discussions of this research, it can be concluded that the user interface design of the Juwana application, developed using the User Centered Design (UCD) method, meets user needs and preferences. The design facilitates the process of purchasing internet subscription packages and enhances user satisfaction.

Abstract

Elnov Dwiata Mandiri is a Company engaged in electrical maintenance servies. This company operates on a project basic where the process is carried out if there is a request by a service user or client. This company is a company with project model that must have high adaptation and respond to the surrounding environment. Therefore, the argument is strengthened tha existence of strategic planning is an important topic. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing internal and external environmental factors using the IFE and EFE matrices and looking for alternative strategies using the SWOT matrix and determining competitive strategies based on appropriate criteria using Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS). The results showed that IFE matrix value was 3,18 and the EFE matrix value was 3,69. If depicted in the IE matrix, the company’s condition is in quadran I, which means a build and growth strategy to improve good relations with distributors and suppliers, and improve the structure company. Strategy by improving the quality of Operatonal HR is the best alternative strategu to be implemented at PT. Elnov Dwiata Mandiri with a utility values of 100%. This strategy is the most appropriate to implement so that human resources are more productive at work and to create positive changes for emloyees
