Abstract

The comic book "Sangeda & Gajah Putih" tells how the story about the appearance of the White Elephant in Aceh to The local comic fans as its primary target. The design goal was an effort to preserve one of Aceh's local cultural values in the form of printed media, namely comic books. The design method used in designing was a combination of the Glass-box and Black-Box methods. This design used a book titled "Gadjah Putih Iskandar Muda" written by a historian about White Elephant in Aceh in full and The interviews with three speakers as the main data source, and The additional data sources were obtained through observation, location documentation, and data on The Internet. Problem solving and data analysis are answered using a 5W + 1H data analysis model. The data is then used as a reference for drafting verbal and visual elements approaches of comic book “Sangeda & Gajah Putih”. The Drawing process of "Sangeda & White Elephant" Comic Book was completely done digitally using Drawing tablets. The final product of the design consists of the main media in the form of comic book as printed media and The supporting medias consisting of animations, posters, stickers, X-banners, papercraft, art books, T-shirts, Instagram accounts, and Webcomic..Keywords: White Elephant, Comic book, Folklore, Valueable local cultures of Aceh

Abstract

The lack of a caring attitude towards the environment causing pollution and environmental damage is the main reason the authors designed an educational game about caring environment for early childhood, especially children aged 7-12 years. Form of the game that will be made in the form of board game, which aims to be easy to attract children, especially children of 7-12 years of age at the time the child really enjoys a media that is packaged in a game. In addition to the game board will be supported by several other media that help the major media to introduce the subject to the target audience such as packaging, rulebook, calendars, key chains, pins, clocks and stickers. The methodology used is the approach 5w + 1h which serve as the basic concept of problem solving that is what, who, when, where, why and how. The purpose of the analysis 5W + 1H is to illustrate the results of analysis used as the basis or foundation for preparing the objective and strategy in the making. And then, all aspects are summarized in the board game of Bumi "LindungiDengan Langkah Terbaik" media packed into the educational board game, so the board game Bumi "Lindungi Dengan Langkah Terbaik" can be an effective and communicative media.Keywords: Education Board Game, Bumi "Lindungi dengan Langkah Terbaik".

Abstract

Nyarai Waterfall is one the tourism object that is located in Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman regency. To enter this tourist site, the visitors have to tracking in Gamaran Forest, Lubuk Alung. During the journey, the visitors will be given the wonderfull scenery to take a picture and also the visitors can take a rest on the road. The promotion that has been done by the organizer and goverment does not catch the audience target yet. As the result, it is important to make a media promotion such as documentary film to give an ilustration of the atmosphere as long as the journey to reach the location of  Nyarai waterfall. In addition, it will be provide by some another media to help the main media to promote this subject to audiences, like billboard, CD cover and CD label, T-Shirt, X-Banner, pin, stickers and buff and the drink bottle.This documentary film aimed to give information to audience target to feel the sensation of the journey to reach the location of Nyarai waterfall in Lubuk Alung. This film describe about the road about the beginning untill finished. Also, all of the rute will be ilustrate in this documentary film.The method that used in this study is SWOT analysis as the basic concepts to solve the problem. SWOT analysis is discuss about the strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats. The purpose of SWOT analysis is to give the ilustration of the findings. This analysis is used as the basic concept in arranging the objective and the planning strategies. Then, the aspects which is included in Nyarai waterfal tourism object can be combined in to documentary film. The documentary film of Nyarai Waterfall can be efective and communicative media.

Abstract

Cat welfare is a reflection of human care and treatment in improving the quality of life in cats, the community is encouraged to develop empathy and respect for cats as animals that live in the communityThe purpose of designing public service announcement of cat welfare through audio-visual media that is emotionally memorable is to educate about humanity and empathy in the community, especially adults, so they can teach children the goodness and improve the quality of cat life.The design method used in this public service announcement is the glassbox method, and data collection is done using the observation and questionnaire method. Data analysis method using 5W + 1H technique (what, why, who, when, where + how). The design of this public service announcement is also supported by several media such as posters, T-shirts, key chains, mugs, totebags, stickers and also a simple cat house as the media support.The results achieved are the audio-visual media of cat welfare which is broadcasted and distributed through YouTube that can be an easy to access in accordance to the target.Keyword : Public Service Announcement, Audio visual, Cat Welfare

Abstract

The purpose of this scheme is to design the Faculty of Language and Art magazine Padang State  University as a media publication informative and communicative in order to fulfill all the information about all the activities that exist in the environment Faculty of Language and Art. Data analysis  method used is the analysis technique 5W + 1H, which is what, who, where, when, why, how. Data is collected using the method of observation interviews and documentation. Faculty of Language and  Arts Magazine Padang State University is designed to use the theory of Visual Communication  Design, media, magazines theory, layout, and color. Abstract

Based on the findings of the problem through an interview with the owner of Herbal Tea PT.  AndalasSitawaFitolab, Mr. Prof. Deddi Prima Putra on December 20 and 27, 2017.There’s no optimal packaging yet for these herbal tea products available in the company, so it is necessary to re-design it as one of the promotional media that is able to provide information and create the image impression to influence competitors. The purpose of packaging re-design is to maximize the packaging design to achieve the competitiveness of the competitor and the selling power of a product in marketing by (1) Creating a new packaging design with a simple but still attractive look. (2) Creating a new and informative packaging design so as to attract potential customers to buy. (3) Improving existing weaknesses in the packaging to be able to increase the selling value of the product to increase the company's turnover. The design methodology used in the re-design of herbal tea packaging is through descriptive qualitative analysis method with SWOT analysis approach (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Treatment) that can answer and solve existing problems and be able to develop creative design ideas. The design results of the re-design of herbal tea packaging as the main media are in the form of box packaging with size (13x7x8) cm, Hang Tag, and Secondary Packaging in the form of teabag packaging. Abstract

The purpose of this article is to design the Visual Identity of Gunuang Omega, Siamese oranges, in   order to provide a visual identity and identity for Siamese oranges from the Fajar Harapan farmer  group, which will function later as (1) Designing a logo to display identity, from "Gunuang Omeh"  Siamese oranges, so that consumers can distinguish "Gunuang Omeh" Siamese oranges from their  competitors. (2) Inform the public in the form of logos that oranges do not, limes mudiak, oranges  and various other nicknames are jesigo. (3 ) Designing a logo that attracts consumers / target  audiences to know and buy jesigo products. (4) As a promotional media and to create a visual  identity in the form of a logo from jesigo and can be applied to various supporting media such as,  Posters, Web Banners, Stickers, Totebag , TShirt, Stationary Set and so on. The design stage starts  from data collection, data analysis and design. Abstract

Kiniko Enterprise UKM in Tabek Patah, Batusangkar is a UKM engaged in food processing industry and traditional beverages as well as the tourism industry. This is through the use of culinary wealth and natural beauty of West Sumatra. One of the excellent products of this UKM is Robusta Coffee original West Sumatra. However, there is a weakness in the packaging of products, where packaging does not have a consistency of design and lack of attractiveness. In addition, the packaging of products is also not in accordance with the packaging of good coffee.This final work aims to get the design of packaging design more interesting and have differentiation value to Robusta coffee packaging owned by KINIKO ENTERPRISE. Packaging will be designed with a traditional-modern concept combined with warm-hearted colors. Differentiation will also be seen through the illustrations to be used. The design begins with collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. Furthermore, the data analysis method is done through SWOT analysis (Strenght, Weakness, Oportunity, Treatment) which is then done by creative designing. In the design of packaging design shown through the layout, illustrations and attractive colors so get the right packaging design.The attractive and characteristic packaging designs will have appeal and are easy to remember by consumers, thereby increasing sales and competitiveness.Keywords: Packaging Design, Coffee, Kiniki Enterprise.

Abstract

Winnie Fruit is one of the cafes that sells a variety of processed fruits into fresh and healthy preparations with the target audience of people who like a healthy lifestyle by consuming processed fruit. Winnie Fruit soup shop has similarities with other competitors and the use of media that supports Winnie Fruit soup shop logo is not yet effective.The design of this logo redesign considers layout and typography in order to achieve the purpose of the logo in an identity. Logo with shape, color, style of design that will form a new perception in the minds of the target community and increase the Winnie Fruit market so that it has a good image and has its own characteristics that are easily remembered by the target audience.The analytical method used is the SWOT analysis, Strength, Weakness, Oppurtunity, and Threat. to find solutions to problems encountered. The design process starts from data collection, observation and interviews with Winnie Fruit soup shop owner to find some weaknesses in Winnie Fruit products and collect the data needed to redesign. Abstract

Lurah Kincia Berdarah comics is designed based on obtained data from collecting data method, observation, diagnostic interviewing, and documentation. Analyzed using 5W1H theory, in a way understanding all of information then get the right troubleshooting. Designing process is produce the main media in form of comics as many as 24 pages. Comics is tell the story when the Dutch come to attack the Indonesian heroes meeting location at Lurah Kincia. The main media equipped by sub media such as poster, sticker, totebag, pin, x-banner, glass, and t-shirt.Kata kunci : Komik Sejarah, Peristiwa Situjuah Batua, Makam Pahlawan SitujuahBatua
