Abstract

The purpose of designing Arau Mini Waterpark promotional videos as promoting water attractions and games in the city of Padang. This tourist attraction was pioneered by Mr. Honanto Bastian since 2017 which is located on Jl. Batang Arau no 48 Padang. Arau mini waterpark has potential and opportunities that are big enough to be developed, so that the target audience knows the existence of Arau mini waterpark. The basic problem is the lack of optimal promotion of the Arau mini waterpark, lack of information to the target audience. The purpose of the promotional video can provide information, communicative with an attractive display of visualization to the target audience about the existence, facilities of water rides in the Arau mini waterpark.The design method uses a glass box, where the final result of a work has been drawn from a rational process. The data collection used is a 5W + 1H analysis (what, who, where, when, why and how)The results of the design as the main media video and supporting media: Posters, Billboards, Member cards, Stickers, Instagram feeds, t-shirts, towels.Keywords: Video, promotion, Waterpark.

Abstract

The lack of spirit and motivation to develop self-potential in order to prepare a bright future in accordance of ideals or future goals making teenagers tend to fill the spare time with unproductive activities. One of  the few factors that cause this happening is entertainment media that is not educational. Focus, time and  energy of adolescents distracted from the important things such as learning, selfdevelopment and future preparation.In Rachel's Guitar Adventure comic design process, the author collected the data through observation,  literature studies and empirical experiences from the author himself. The data is processed through the  5W1H method. The results of the analysis are used as reference in designing the characters and writing  stories under fictional drama genre. The comic was made with digital techniques using Wacom Intuos  tablet through the Paint Tool Sai and Adobe Photoshop. The style of illustration is semi-realist which is arranged in a closed and open panel variation. Rachel’s Guitar Adventure was printed as a full-color comic book with total of 36 pages on A5 art paper. This design is also supported by additional media such as  T-shirts, note books, mugs, pins, stickers, posters and x-banners.Keywords: Education, Motivation, Comic, Ideals

Abstract

The existing Tusuk Tusuk Kunti packaging design is not safe for taking away and it could not keep the food quality, information about the product was not available, and the old design had not been a good promotion media yet.Tusuk Tusuk Kunti packaging design which is more communicative, more interesting, and safer will be able to present message from Tusuk Tusuk Kunti. The purpose of this design is to introduce Tusuk Tusuk Kunti identity to people and being a good promotion media for reaching a larger trade.The analysis method used in this design is SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threats) analysis to find the solution from the problem encountered. Designing process starts from data collection, observation, and documentation to collect the data and observe directly without participating in the production from the beginning to the final. Supporting media to support main media are poster, apron, sticker, x-banner, t-shirt, menu list and banner.Keywords: Redesign, packaging, food, snacks.

Abstract

Natural tourist attraction in Sungai Penuh City are Bulit Khayangan located in Renah Kayu Embun Village and Puti Senang Flower Garden located in Talang Lindung Village. The background of this documentary film is due to the lack of socialization and information to the public in preserving the tourist attractions. The documentary film aims to enable the public to know the tourist attractions located in Sungai Penuh City in order to be improved in the future. This documentary film is also supported by several other media that help the mainstream media to introduce the subject to audience as the target, such as movie posters, CD covers and CD labels, T-shirts, Stickers, flyers, X-banners.The methodology used is the 5W + 1H approach which is used as the basic concept of problem solving : what, who, when, where, why and how. The purpose of this 5W + 1H analysis is to give an overview of the results of the analysis used as the basis of objective preparation and strategy in design. Therefore, all aspects that are summarized in natural tourist attractions in Sungai Penuh City are able to be packed into documentary film media, so that the documentary of natural tourist attractions in Sungai Penuh City can be an effective and communicative media.Keywords: Documentary Film, Natural Tourist Attraction in Sungai Penuh City1Mahasiswa penulis

Abstract

The development of Padang State University towards quality universities is supported by the improvement of facilities, infrastructure, building facilities, transportation and management. However, the existing sign system facility has not been optimally integrated for the benefit of facilities for campus communities such as: Direction sign, identification sign, and information sign. The purpose of designing a sign system in the master plan of Padang State University as an informative, communicative and effective direction.The design method used is descriptive qualitative with an analysis approach of 5W + 1H (what, where, when, who, why, how), to see the issues raised. The main media used: Identification sign, direction sign, and information sign, besides supporting media for manual book, calendar, note book, work agenda book, and flayer.Keyword: Sign System, Padang State University, Media

Abstract

The aim of this study was describe the quality of the e-commerce website based on the principles of web design in the book The Principle of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird. Research determines better about the focus on design and layout design in terms of Defining Good Design, Web Page Anatomy, Grid Theory, Balance, Unity, Emphasis, Bread and Butter Layout, dan Resizing Layouts. Objects of research This is the Cotton Ink website which is an original Indonesian brand based in South Jakarta. This research will produce a picture of the quality of the composition and layout of the Cotton Ink E-Commerce website. From this review will get a good website review and can be an example for web designers and web developers in creating e-commerce websites.Researchers used descriptive qualitative methods. The data collected consists of words and images using the technique of gathering with informants. In explaining data information, researchers explain it by displaying images from the screen display of various pages on the Cotton Ink website.The results of the study can be concluded from the Ink Cotton web site that has met the criteria of a good website in the composition and layout categories that depend on the front page of several criteria that have not yet met the requirements. Based on a personal review of this web site designed by adjusting the target market of Cotton Ink products. Abstract

d'Dhave hotel established on October 9, 2010 is located at Jl. Abstract

Padangsidimpuan is a town in the province of North Sumatra that geographically surrounded by South Tapanuli. Padangsidimpuan as a city which uphold the cultural values is less well known of Indonesian society because the lack of city promotion by the government. Therefore, the authors was designing the visual branding that summarized in the manual book and than become a guideline for the government to apply to the various media.The design of the visual branding logo is taken from the form of fruits and leaves are typical of the city of Padangsidimpuan. Then use motifs that have been adapted to the character Padangsidimpuan City. As well as the use of the concept and philosophy of culture, color and script entirely serve as the idea of designing a logo that also have headline and tagline Salumpat Saindege who also became the motto of the City Padangsidimpuan.The main design is the logo, tagline and icons. The main media used in the design of visual branding Padangsidimpuan City is manual book. Then the supporting media them wallpaper Padangsidimpuan City buses, totebag, mugs, calendars, T-shirts, flag chain, posters, stickers, key chains, and umbrella.Key Words : Visual Branding, Padangsidimpuan, Media

Abstract

Gelamai Mak Leni is a home made gelamai industry which is owned by Mr. Riswandi and Ms. Musleni. Gelamai Mak Leni has been estabilished since 2012 and it is located in Koto Baru, Kec. Simalanggang, Kab. Lima Puluh Kota, Payakumbuh. The Brand and Packaging Design of Gelamai Mak Leni was based on the visual identitiy and the undefinite, yet inconsistency of the packaging that represents the industry of Gelamai Mak LeniThe design method was started from datas collecting, interviewing, and observing. In order to find the problem and the identification of the problem, it was being analysed by using the SWOT theory (SWOT), and further by using analysis data cinclusion and creative approach. In designing the brand and packaging of Gelamai Mak Leni (Mak Leni’s Gelamai), the writer indicated the verbal and visual message to people though branding and packaging.The primary media in this design were brand and packaging. Beside the primary media, this design was also being completed with the secondary media such as paper bag, sticker, name card, mug, printed t-shirt, stamp, pin, receipt, x-banner, calender, and clock.Keywords: Brand, Packaging, Gelamai Mak Leni, Media.
