Abstract

The Family Planning Program continues to be pursued by the government to reduce the rate of population growth in order to create the welfare of the Indonesian population. In choosing contraception it is influenced by several factors, and in the selection of IUDs it can be influenced by age and occupational factors. From the data on the achievement of IUD selection at Sawahan Health Center Surabaya, the period January-June 2017 experienced fluctuations from year to year, namely 2014 amounting to 9.14%, 2015 amounting to 2.20% and 2016 amounting to 8.97%. The selection of the IUD was less than PPM (9.34%). So the research aims to find out the description of the age and work of mothers on the selection of IUDs in the Sawahan Health Center Surabaya in the period January-June 2017 Method: This study uses a descriptive method. The population is all family planning acceptors with sampling taken on a non-probability sampling and the sample used is a saturated sample which is the total population into a sample of 116 people. As an instrument of research, secondary data is used, then the data is processed with a frequency table and cross tabulation. Results: The results of the study found that family planning acceptors were mostly 20-35 years old with 68 people (58.62%), 99 unemployed (85.34%), the majority of acceptors did not choose an IUD of 101 people (87.07%). The results of cross tabulation found that family planning acceptors aged 20-35 did not choose 60 IUDs (88.24%) compared to <20 years old as many as 2 people (33.33%) chose IUDs and those who did not work did not choose 90 IUDs. people (90.91%) compared to working as many as 6 people (35.29%) chose an IUD. Discussion: It can be concluded that with age and low income it will affect family planning acceptors in the selection of IUDs. Therefore, for prospective acceptors to choose contraception according to their age and income, IEC is carried out, counseling, approaches and cross-sectoral cooperation to hold a KB safari.

Abstract

Protein Energy Deficiency (KEP) is a state of malnutrition caused by low consumption of energy and protein in daily food so that it does not meet the nutritional adequacy rate (Ministry of Health, 2000). The incidence of PEM in children aged 3-5 years at the Mulia Integrated Paud Post in Surabaya tends to increase from 2017-2018 by 12.5 - 15%, expected not to exceed the prevalence rate set by MDG's at 15.5%. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the education level of mothers with the incidence of PEM in children aged (3-5 years) at the Mulia Integrated Paud Post Surabaya in July 2018. Method: the research used was descriptive. The population is 80 children. Sampling using Non Probability sampling with saturated sample techniques, the sample in the study were 80 children. Primary and secondary data collection by weighing children and looking at the mother's level of education from the child's report card. The data is then made a frequency table and cross tabulation and conclusions are then made. Results: From the results of the study it can be concluded that mothers who have a low level of education, the majority of children experience PEM. Therefore, health workers are expected to provide information on balanced nutrition for mothers who have children aged 3-5 years.

Abstract

Diaper rash, also called diaper dermatitis, is a skin disorder (skin rash) that results from inflammation in diaper-covered areas, namely in the genitals, around the anus, buttocks, folds of the thighs and lower abdomen. This disease often occurs in infants and toddlers who use diapers, usually at the age of less than 2 years (Tjokronegoro, A., 2000: 19). Based on a preliminary study on April 25, 2017, 10 infants arrived at BPS Zulfiah III Surabaya and as many as 7 babies (69.97%) had diaper rash. Even though diaper rash should not occur in infants. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and attitudes of mothers with the incidence of diaper rash in infants. Method: This study used a descriptive method with quota sampling technique in which sampling was carried out by assigning a number of sample members from June to July 2017 using a questionnaire as a research instrument. Data analysis techniques using frequency tables and cross tabulations with the population are all mothers who came to check their babies at BPS Zulfiah III Surabaya. Results: Based on the results of the study found mothers with good knowledge (17.5%), sufficient knowledge (32.5%) and insufficient knowledge (50%). Whereas from attitudes obtained strongly agree (7.5%), agree (20%), disagree (25%) and strongly disagree (47.5%) Discussion: It can be concluded from this study that mothers who have lack of knowledge, the majority of their babies experience diaper rash. This is influenced by the mother's ignorance about how to properly care for the baby. Health workers are expected to be able to provide information about how to care for babies properly so that diaper rash does not occur in infants.

Abstract

Introduction: The perineum is the area between the thighs bounded by the vulva and anus. Injury to the birth canal can occur due to an error during labor. In addition, the birth canal can also occur due to intentional acts such as episotomy. The cause of perineal infection is caused by organisms that attack the implantation or laceration due to childbirth. Based on data obtained at BPS Ny. Retno Soepomo Surabaya found that mothers who experienced perineal tears in 2016 to 2018 experienced an increase of (32.9%). Therefore this study aims to determine the description of education and postpartum mothers' attitudes about care for perineal wounds. Method: This research uses descriptive method. The study population was all postpartum mothers who controlled on the 7th day with perineal suture wounds in July with a non probability sampling technique which sampled saturated samples, with a sample of 42 people using a questionnaire as primary data and secondary data, data analysis with frequency tables and cross tabulation. Results: The results showed that postpartum mothers with low education majority of perineal wounds did not heal (85.71%) compared to postpartum mothers with higher education the majority of perineum healed wounds (75%), while postpartum mothers with postpartum mothers' attitudes were less amenable to perineum injuries not healed (81.82%) compared to postpartum mothers who had the agreed attitude the majority of perineal wounds healed (71.43%). Discussion: Mothers who take care of perineal wounds can be influenced by education and attitudes of women about care for perineal wounds. Therefore health workers should provide correct advice or instructions on how to perform perineal wound care for successful healing of perineal wounds.
