Abstract

The rapid growth of the courier service industry, triggered by the increasing public demand for fast delivery services, has made it necessary for the Post Office to optimize the distribution process to ensure timely package delivery. The selection of distribution routes is a factor in achieving efficiency and effectiveness of delivery. Currently, the Kudus Post Office serves 9 sub-districts with 129 villages, using 12 couriers to deliver goods. However, the distribution route pattern that has not been well planned, causes a mismatch in delivery time. Thus, this study focuses on the formation of a package distribution route pattern using the Saving Matrix and Nearest Neighbor Methods, in designing a planned courier route pattern. The purpose of this method is to find out the route with the minimum distance, so as to produce an optimal delivery route that can increase customer satisfaction through faster delivery services. The results of this study are the formation of 12 package distribution route patterns for each courier, with a total difference in distance between the savings matrix and nearest neighbor methods of 127.75 km.

Abstract

The efficient management of medicine inventory is crucial for the smooth operation of pharmacies, ensuring the availability of essential medications while minimizing excess stock and wastage. This research presents the design of a Medicine Inventory System which is recommended to be implemented at Yasmin Raya Pharmacy, aimed at optimizing inventory tracking, stock replenishment, and overall operational efficiency. The proposed system integrates real-time inventory monitoring, automated stock updates, and alerts for medication expiry, addressing common challenges faced by the pharmacy in managing its stock manually. The methodology used is the use case diagram, sequence diagram and prototype model.

Abstract

This research discusses the warehouse management of fiber luggage spare parts at PT Artlyn Kreasi Mandiri using the 5S method and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The problem that occurs is the messy arrangement of spare parts in the warehouse which results in losses due to damage to spare parts and makes it difficult for employees to do their jobs. Effective warehouse management is considered crucial in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. In this context, the 5S method is used to understand the qualitative aspects of warehouse management, while the AHP method is used for decision-making. The results on 5S indicate the need for improvement of warehouse working environment conditions to reduce spare part damage and increase operational efficiency. In addition, the application of the 5S concept in the warehouse is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of spare parts warehouse management. The AHP calculation results provide weights for each criterion and alternative that support decision making. From the AHP calculation results, it can be concluded that moving to a new warehouse has a higher global weight (0.749) compared to optimizing the existing warehouse (0.251), so moving to a new warehouse is considered a more optimal warehousing strategy for the company

Abstract

As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia holds significant potential in developing halal products, particularly in the food and beverage sector. Although 2024 saw a substantial increase in the number of companies applying for halal product testing, this growth was not accompanied by a rise in halal product export volumes. Data indicates that Indonesia’s halal product exports experienced a decline of approximately 2.1% in 2024, decreasing from USD 42.32 billion to USD 41.42 billion compared to the previous year. This downward trend presents a strategic challenge in strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness in the global halal market, especially amid growing demand from both Muslim and non-Muslim countries. One critical area requiring attention is halal logistics, which continues to face various obstacles, including limited international halal certification, ambiguous guidelines, weak financial and institutional coordination, low market demand, and the absence of standardized cost-effectiveness measures. This study aims to map the research trends on halal logistics published in reputable journals focused on Islamic economics. A total of **175 Scopus-indexed scientific publications** were analyzed using the VOSviewer software to generate a bibliometric map of the field’s development. The findings show that “halal logistics is a central focus in global literature; however, Indonesia’s research contribution remains relatively limited. Therefore, strengthening local research capacity is essential to enhance Indonesia’s strategic role in the international halal logistics ecosystem.

Abstract

Project delays are a common challenge in project management, especially in the engineering sector of the manufacturing industry. This study aims to identify the root causes of delays in production machinery procurement projects within the Engineering Division at PT XYZ, focusing on internal processes that affect project completion. The study uses Fishbone Diagram and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which are effective tools to systematically uncover complex causal factors. The research is descriptive qualitative in nature, based on secondary data from 27 Project Status Reports (PSRs) from February 2022 to December 2023, categorized into six factors: Human, Machine, Method, Material, Measurement, and Environment. Fishbone analysis and 5 Whys were used to determine dominant and root causes. Finding show that delays are primarily caused by Method (25.4%), Machine (22.8%), and Human (21.1%) factors. Root causes include the lack of standardized design processes, limited machine precision for new design requirements, and delays in management decision-making due to incomplete technical information and multitasking among designers. To mitigate delays in future projects, PT XYZ is advised to establish a cross-functional planning team from the early stages, develop consistent SOPs for design, approval, and validation, and implement better human resource allocation through integrated project scheduling. These steps are expected to enhance project efficiency and accelerate technical decision-making processes.

Abstract

The condition of logistical activity that is currently ongoing in the warehouse of Cakung PT. Store Send Indonesia still needs improvement, especially in the storage process, because there are still some problems, such as goods returned from customers because of the wrong goods, goods Less, Goods More, and Inappropriate goods caused by Human Error. This research aims to analyze the implementation of digitalization and the effectiveness of work in reducing the level of human error in the operational warehouse of PT. Store Send Indonesia. The study involved 82 respondents from PT. Store Send Indonesia employees as a population and sample, using saturated sampling techniques. The research method used is a double linear regression analysis to determine the impact of digitization implementation and work efficiency on the level of human error. In addition, validity tests are also carried out to ensure that the data obtained is valid. The results show that digitalization does not significantly reduce human error; work effectiveness significantly reduces human error, and digitalization and work effectiveness simultaneously reduce human error in the PT Store Send Indonesia warehouse.
