Jurnal Ilmu Informasi Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan is a journal of Library and Information Science published by the Information Science, Library and Archival Study Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, State University of Padang. The journal covers all issues in information, librarianship and archival studies. The coverage of the discussion in librarianship may be viewed from various perspectives of disciplines. This paper focuses on the storage system records in Padang Language Center Archive Center. This study aims to reveal: (1) describe the records storage system suitable for Language Center Archive Center Padang. (2) identify any obstacles encountered. Data were collected through observation and interviews and data collection done deskriktif. Based on data analysis, concluded the following. First, archival storage systems in the Central Hall of Records Padang language is not in accordance with the existing procedures, the storage system is applied only on the incoming and outgoing mail. Second, the constraints faced by the Language Center are: (1) archival storage system that is incompatible with the existing theory and archives stored procedures wrong. Records received by agencies tend not to perform routine inspections and record-keeping, so the archives are not known to exist. (2) archival storage procedures are not appropriate, resulting in kesimpang crux of the existence of archives, archival storage procedures should be in accordance with proper storage procedures in accordance with the theory. (3) the lack of facilities and infrastructure used, the efforts made by the Language Center to overcome that last save point menyedikan decent archives like folders, guide, filling cabinet. This article discusses the existence of Youth Services to Improve Adolescent Reading Interest at the Library and Archives of West Sumatra province. This article aims to describe: (1) the existence of juvenile services for improving adolescent reading, (2) problems were found in the increase reading adolescents in juvenile services, and (3) efforts to be made to overcome the obstacles in improving adolescent reading in adolescent services. Data collected through observation, interviews, and literature. Analyzing data descriptively. By analyzing the data, it was concluded the following. First, the presence of juvenile services has not been put to good use by library users, especially for teenagers library users junior high, high school, and Students; Second, problems were found to increase reading in adolescents; Third, efforts should be made to overcome the obstacles in improving adolescent reading. AbstractThe purpose of this study were to (1) describe ability information literacy visitors in SMK Negeri 2 Pariamanâ€™s library, (2) describe application of information literacy in library SMK Negeri 2 Pariaman. Collecting was done interview and observation. Analyzing data is done descriptively. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that information literacy ability of visitors in SMK Negeri 2 Pariamanâ€™s library is very less, it canÂ be seem from some ability as follows: (1) students have formulated the problem before looking for information, (2) students are more likely to access information from the internet, (3) students are still lacking in the ability to evaluate information and sources critically, (4) students are still lacking in the ability to process information into a new knowledge, (5) students have not specified the source of information used. The application of information literacy can be done in SMK Negeri 2 Pariamanâ€™s libarary that is by user education and reading reward.Keyword: literacy, information, library

This paper discusses the treatment of Library Materials in the Library of the State University of Padang, The purpose of this is Mecca (1) describe the factors damage library materials in the library of the State University of Padang (2) describe preventing damage library materials in the Library of the State University of Padang. Based on data collected through direct observation and interviews with staff how Libraries in Padang State University Libraries. It can be concluded: (1) the damaged library materials in the Library of the State University of Padang is a book, a collection of references, such as the periodic collection of journals and tabloids. (2) Factors damage library materials in the Library of the State University of Padang are biological factors and human factors. In order maintenance activities of library materials is expected to run well fields should State University Libraries (1) increase the resources in order to implement the activities of nurses librarian library materials properly. (2) maintenance activities of library materials not only reproductive activities, restoration and binding alone but all activities related to the care of library materials. Writing this article aims to describe (1) the implementation of the code of ethica librarian at the Librarian of the University of Padang; (2) the obstacles ancounteredin the implementation of the code of ethics oflibrarians and describe the efforts made to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of the code of ethics of librarians. Data collected by observation and interview with the librarian at the Library of the State University of Padang. Data analisis was done descriptively, it can be concluded that (1) Librarian Padang State University has been applying the basic attitude of librarians with the users, the relationship between librarians, community relations. But not all librarians are able to apply the code of conduct in the workplace, there are still many librarians who only know the code of ethics of librarians without applying the code of ethics of librarians; (2) in moking application of the Code Librarian at the Library of the University of Padang still has many obstacles, obstacles encounteredis the lack of know ledge of librarians about the basic attitude of librarians and do not know the code of ethics as a librarian professionals, lack of talent librarians to communicate and get along, so librarian hostility in serving meanwhile, efforts to be made by librarians terkain this obstacle is not maximized.Â Keywords: Implementation, code ethics

The purpose of this paper to help visitor and librarian at the Preservation institute and Cultural Values of West Sumatra to investigate an information or retrieval information. In the production of this paper we describe the stages of productionannotated bibliography Journal Minanngkabau Suluah with the subject in theCentral Library and the preservation of Cultural Values of West Sumatra. This paper uses descriptive research method that aims to create a description,representation or illustration in a systematic, factual and accurate information onthe facts, nature and the relationship between the phenomenon investigated.Stages of Creation bibliography are: 1) determination of the object of studykeminagkabauan title; 2) the collection of material objects in Suluahkeminangkabauan Journal; 3) the selection of library materials; 4) Typing objectmaterial keminangkabauan in Journal Suluah; 5) grouping or classification; 5)indexing; 7) inspection of the final manuscript bibliography. the obstacle inwriting of bibliography are: 1) Library and Cultural Values Preservation HallWest Sumatra has a narrow room, less in infrastructure and materials andcollections that much; 2) a search of materials not in accordance with theconsecutive years; 3) Wasting time; 4) understand about the differenciate betweenin Minangkabau word and West Sumatra words ; 5) Typing is concerned. AbstractThe writing of this paper aims to describe: (1) local content collection services, (2) constraints in procuring local content collections; and (3) efforts in procuring local content collections in the Archives Service and West Sumatra Province Library. The method of writing this paper is to use a qualitative descriptive method which is done by observation, interviews and data collection directly to the source, the Office of Archives and the Library of West Sumatra Province. Based on the results of interviews and observations conducted at the Archives Service and West Sumatra Province Library are as follows: First, the service collection of "local content" content at the Archives Service and West Sumatra Province Library through the procurement of local content collection, local content collection service system and the use of collections local content by users in the Archives Service and Library of West Sumatra Province. Second, the obstacles faced are: (1) limited number of local content collections, (2) limited access to local content collections, (3) lack of government and other related parties' attention to cultural functions, (4) lack of human resources as skilled librarians. Third, the efforts that have been made by the Office of Archives and Library of West Sumatra Province, namely conducting education, outreach, law enforcement and infrastructure facilities for local content collection works in an effort to preserve regional culture.Keyword: local content collection; cultural preservation; public library

Preparation of this paper aims to: (1) Knowing about the media than conventional filing in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. (2) Knowing the constraints that affect the transfer of conventional media file in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi. To obtain information on the issue, conducted direct observation Perputakaan Office, Archives and Documentation of Bukittinggi and direct interviews with archivists. Conclusions are obtained as follows: (1) knowledge of the staff archivist in the technology field is very low. (2) Lack of equipment and technology as well as in the processing room archives inadequate. (3) Lack of funds and the budget of the government of Bukittinggi is the bottleneck in the implementation over conventional archival media. (4) As a center of information, education and research need to perform a wide range of businesses that should be planned, implemented as possible in making improvements to realize the function and purpose of the archive. Writing in this paper on the production of the Annotated Bibliography in UPT Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi. This study aims to help users and librarians in making information retrieval using a means of controlling the form of a bibliography. The purpose of writing annotated bibliographies describe the making of the collection Minangkabausiana especially books on UPT Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi.Writing this paper uses descriptive method. Data obtained from the collection directly, which is looking for the physical form in the library collection. The object of research is a collection of Minangkabau in book form approximately 92 titles.Penganalisasian Based on the data, it was concluded the following matters. (1) determination of the title bibliography, this bibliography entitled Annotated Bibliography Collection Minangkabausiana in UPT Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi; (2) the collection of library materials or information retrieval, which is done by the direct search; (3) the selection of library materials, aims to determine the theme of the book that will be made is the theme Minangkabausiana bibliographies; (4) the classification or classifications, which this bibliography aims to describe the subject matter in the book; (5) the keyword generation, aims to describe the subject matter in the book; (6) index, which index is taken from the author index, subject index, subject index; (7) production or manuscript typing bibliographies, should be in accordance with predetermined rules; (8) checks the final manuscript bibliography, in the form of written examination of errors in spelling and punctuation, suitability shortening and reversal of the author's name.Keyword: Bibliography, Minangkabau, anotasi, Indeks.

This paper aims to describe the technique of making encyclopedias procession in traditional ceremony of marriage in Tarusan Pesisir Selatan. The method used is descriptive research method with data collection technique through interview. Data collection through interviews was conducted with traditional leaders in Pesisir Selatan. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that the stages in making encyclopedias procession in traditional ceremony of marriage in South Coastal Tarusan as follows: (1) data collection, (2) making cover, (3) making of introduction, (4) making table of contents,(5)making index.Keyword: ceremony, encyclopedia, marriage, procession.
