Abstract

Salacca zalacca atau yang disebut dengan snakefriut merupakan salah satu tanaman yang termasuk dalam keluarga palma. Salah satu bagian tanaman ini yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah gorong-gorong buah. Kulit buah salak ini bisa dimasak sebagai minuman yang bisa menjadi obat penyakit diabetes. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan skrining fitokimia untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung pada kulit buah salak (Salacca zalacca). Hasil skrining fitokimia kulit buah salak menunjukkan bahwa kulit buah salak (Salacca zalacca) mengandung metabolit sekunder alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin, tetapi tidak mengandung terpenoid dan steroid.

Abstract

The Pb2+ ion is the most common and highly toxic metal ion that can be found in industrial waste. if it enters a water body, it will be difficult to degrade and easily accumulate in the body of organisms. This study aims to reduce the impact of Pb2+ ion pollution in the waters. The biosorption method was chosen in batches by utilizing plantation waste, namely dragon fruit peel as a biosorbent in the absorption of Pb2+ ions, because it is cheap, safe, and effective. Dragon fruit peel contains lignin and cellulose which contain active groups so that it ispotential to be used as a biosorbent. The result showed that the dragon fruit peel adsorbent was able to absorb Pb 2+ ions at an optimum contact time 70 minutes with a stirring speed of 200 rpm which was analyzed using an atomic absorption with the highest absorption capacity of 32,74 mg/g.

Abstract

Dutch teak (Guazuma ulmifolia) is a plant that belongs to the family Sterculiaceae and grows in Ecuador, Panamaa, and other American Latin countries. This Dutch teak is found in bushes, as well as in forests. This Dutch teak plant is often the most needed for health, especially the leaves. Dutch teak leaves have been used as traditional medicine to maintain a healthy body, lose weight as a slimming herb, to lowers cholesterol levels in the body. Research has been done phytochemical screening to determine the secondary metabolites contained in Guazuma ulmifolia. Phytochemicals test results showed that Guazuma ulmifolia contains secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids, steroids, alkaloid, and saponins.

Abstract

Titanium tetrahedral coordination shows high activity as a catalyst so that it attracts attention to be researched and developed. In this study, tetrahedral titanium coordination was studied and produced through the Si-O-Ti bond between solid silica precursors and solid titania. Both precursors are mixed in toluene and sonicated for homogeneity. The resulted mixture was calcined at a temperature of 400oC for 8 hours and then characterized with DRS UV-Vis, XRD and FESEM. The results showed that the synthesis sample experienced an increase in tetrahedral titanium fraction from 27% to almost 34%. Characterization with XRD indicates that the diffraction pattern of the resulting sample is very similar to the titania precursor with a crystalline pattern with an anatase and rutile phases. The morphology of the resulting sample showed that silica samples that did not react with titania experienced agglomeration

Abstract

Rice husk ash (RHA) is a lignocellulosic material such as biomass in other materials that also contain silica. Amorphous silica obtained from rice husk ash is thought to be an important source that can produce silicon carbide, pure silicon and silicon nitride flour. Rice husk ash contains high silica (>60%). Gel silica is ekstracted by adding sodium hydroxide to produce a sodium silicate solution. The silica extraction was carried out by reacting the rice husk ash using 1M NaOH solution at 80°C for 1 hour. Subsequently, it was added 1M HCl to pH 7. Then it was evaporated in an oven at 80°C to constant weight. Based on the results of the FTIR analysis, the absorption peak of silica with a wavelength of 1070.17 cm-1 is similar to the absorption peak of 98% silica with an absorption wavelength of 1054.95 cm-1. The extracted gel silica has an amorphous crystalline form where in the XRD test there is an absorption peak that widens in the range of 2θ = 22

Abstract

Research conducted by photolysis method to degrade Congo Red dye produced from textile industry waste that has a negative impact on the environment using a TiO2 catalyst aims to determine the optimal degradation percentage on the effect of radiation time and the effect of UV lamp power on the degradation of Congo Red. UV-VIS spectrophotometer measurement results obtained a wavelength of 497nm. The results showed that the percentage of degradation of the optimum radiation time was 92% at 180 minutes, and under the influence of UV lamp power the highest percentage of degradation was 95.21% at 20 watt UV lamp. This study showed that the hydroxyl radical (∙OH) was the main control in degrading Congo Red.

Abstract

Sechium edule. or chayote is a plant that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. Almost all parts of this plant can be consumed, one of which is the fruits. chayote can be cooked as a vegetable and is a good source of vitamin C . In this study, phytochemical screening was performed to identify secondary metabolites containing in Musa x paradisiaca L. The results of phytochemical screening showed that Sechium edule. contained secondary metabolites of flavonoids, steroids and saponins, but did not contain alkaloids and terpenoids.

Abstract

Beef rendang is one of traditional foods from Minangkabau, West Sumatra. Rendang cooked with basic ingredient from beef, coconut milk and special spices. The addition of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) spice in cooking can improve the taste, other than that, cumin is additionally valuable as an antioxidant, antidiabetic, and lowering cholesterol. Nevertheless, there is no organoleptic report stating that cumin spice can improve the taste of rendang. The aim of the study was to see the level of preference for rendang which was added weight  variations of cumin based on sensory parameters (color, meat texture, surface of spices, aroma, flavor). The test method determined organoleptically by the hedonic test method on 48 panelists from chemistry 3rd year understudies of University of Negeri Padang were given rendang with variations in addition of cumin at 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 grams/500 grams of beef. The test results appeared a significant decrease in the level of inclination for rendang in parameters of color, surface of spices, and flavor of rendang with the addition of 2.5 grams of cumin when compared to the original rendang and and in common there was no significant alter. In conclusion, the expansion of cumin flavor influences the taste of beef rendang.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the electrical conductivity of the aniline synthesis product with added dopant. Polyaniline conductive polymer synthesis was carried out with aniline monomer mixed with Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as crosslinker, Dimethoxy phenylacetophenone (DMPP) as initiator, Fe2O3 as dopant. The polymer results were tested for electrical conductivity using a Four Point Probe (FPP) and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Uv-vis DRS (Uv-visible Diffuse Reflectance). the composition that showed the highest conductivity was the addition of Fe2O3 dopant as much as 0.0283 g with an electrical conductivity value of 17.0609 x 10-3 S/cm.

Abstract

The research that has been done on the photolysis of the degradation of Malachite Green using TiO2 catalyst aims to determine the effect of the percentage degradation of the Malachite Green solution. The results of UV-Vis spectrophotometer measurements obtained a wavelength of 617nm. The results showed that the highest percentage of degradation was 99.05% at 210 minutes using TiO2 catalyst, while 65.45% with TiO2 catalyst mass of 0.25 grams. This study shows that the hydroxyl radical (∙OH) is the main control in degrading Malachite Green.
