Abstract

ABSTRACT Free radicals are one of the causes of cell damage. Free radicals that have no electrons on the outer layer have very reactive properties, so try to get their partner electrons by attacking the closest stable molecules, such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and DNA and taking electrons from these molecules. Substances that are picked up by electrons will become new free radicals. Efforts are usually done to reduce the reactivity of free radicals and protect against oxidative damage by adding antioxidants. Commonly used antioxidants are synthetic antioxidants, such as BHA (Butyl Hydroxy Anisol), BHT (Butyl Hydroxy Toluene), and TBHQ (Tert-Butyl Hydroxy Quinon). The use of synthetic antioxidants starts to get a negative response because it is thought to have the potential to cause cancer. So that natural antioxidants are increasingly in demand because they are believed to be safer for health. Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is one of the plants commonly used as spices by the people of Indonesia. However, the use of lemongrass as cooking spices is only located on the stem, while the lemongrass leaves are still a waste. Even though lemongrass leaves are known to contain phenol active compounds which can act as antioxidants. The benefits of lemongrass as an antioxidant are very necessary to make preparations so that it is easier to consume. This study was conducted using the DPPH method with ascorbic acid as a positive control. The results showed that there was a strong antioxidant activity of the citronella ethanol extract which had an IC50 value of 50.3 ppm with ascorbic acid control of 10.4 ppm.

Lemongrass syrup formulations are made into 3 formulas, Formula I 0,75: 0,25; Formula II 0,25: 0,75; Formula III 0,5: 0,5 for sucrose: Na CMC. Formulation I with sucrose levels: Na CMC (0,75: 0,25) has the most desirable taste and for evaluation has the best value.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Patients with previous myocardial infarction and stroke are the highest risk group for further coronary and cerebral events. myocardial infarction alters physical, psychosocial, spiritual well-being and adversely affects overall quality of life This study aimed to determine the effect of age and the quality of life among myocardial infarction patients. This study utilized descriptive correlational research with cross sectional approach. The study utilized set of instruments, an adapted instrument of MacNew Quality of Life After Myocardial Infarction (MacNew QLMI) questionnaire to measure the quality of life myocardial infarction. The results of this study were obtained middle age group were 66,7 %. Quality of life for physical domain has an average weighted mean of 4.51. the results of the data analysis using the Mann Whitney test were obtained emotional domain p=0,995 (p<0,05), physical domain p=0,624 (p<0,05), social domain p=0,191 (p<0,05). It means that the age does not influence the quality of life of patients with Myocardial Infarction. Keywords: Age, Quality of Life, Myocardial infarction

Abstract

Acid gelugur fruit (Garcinia atroviridis) is one of the Garcinia families that has long been used as traditional medicine. Gelugur acid has been widely used as a cooking spice by Malay people, but it also has the ability to reduce cholesterol. Besides that, it has antioxidant properties and can reduce body weight and cholesterol. The purpose of this study was to establish specific parameter standards and non-specific parameters from the ethanol extract of acid gelugur fruit. The extract was obtained by maceration method using 70% ethanol with a rendament of 37.15%. Specific parameters include observations of organoleptic extracts of tamarind fruit showed, dark brown, distinctive smelling, and sour. Contains several sekendur metabolites such as flavonoids and saponins. The level of the compound that is soluble in water is 3.6%, while the content of the compound dissolved in ethanol is 3.9%. Total ash content of 2.99%. Non-specific parameters include acid insoluble ash content of 1.03%. The drying rate of geluguric acid simplicia was 7.20%. Water content of sour fruit gelugur extract was 13%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT About 39,620 women die each year from breast cancer (MOH, 2013) in Indonesia. One medical treatment in cancer patients is by chemotherapy, some side effects of chemotherapy are fission effects such as digestive disorders, hormonal disorders, and psychological effects in the form of anxiety. This study aims to determine what factors influence the level of anxiety in Ca Mamae patients with chemotherapy. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross sectional approach. The tool used in this study is a questionnaire adapted from the ZSAS (Zung Scale Anciety Score) instrument to measure anxiety in Ca Mamae patients with chemotherapy. The results of this study obtained factors of age, work, education, history of chemotherapy and stage of cancer is one of the causes of anxiety. From Chi Square results, age p = 0.45 (p> 0.5), education p = 95 (p> 0.05), work p = 0.85 (p> 0.05), cancer stage p = 0.000 (p <0.05), the frequency of chemotherapy p = 0.47 (p> 0.05), indicating that the most influential factor in anxiety is at the stage of cancer. Keywords: age, occupation, education, stage of cancer, frequency of chemotherapy, anxiety, chemotherapy.

Abstract

The times and increasingly modern technology, encourage a mother to work for financial reasons, self-actualization, and relationships. This makes women workers especially mothers work as vulnerable groups and at risk of occupational health hazards. One of them is the role imbalance between work and family due to multiple roles. This can make the mother work stressful so that it will affect the well-being condition of the mother working in the family. The purpose of this study was to describe the family well-being of mothers who worked as nurses. The design used in this study was descriptive quantitative with 52 respondents who were the results of screening based on inclusion criteria. Family well-being data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate the average value of family well-being in mothers who work as nurses is 123.33. The family well-being component consists of the unity of the family system including the relationship of family structure; the relevance of functions or roles in carrying out tasks in the family; and prevent family vulnerability to other influences such as genetic, physiological, sociological or psychological. Based on these results, it can be concluded that family well-being can describe the ability of the mother to work in adapting to her dual role.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease in which people with diabetes can not produce enough insulin or the body is unable to use insulin effectively resulting in excess sugar in the blood. Good blood sugar control is a key factor in preventing complications. This can be achieved by administering antidiabetic drugs, lifestyle changes, as well as regular blood glucose and laboratory measurements. Although research on the experience of people with diabetes in controlling blood sugar has been overwhelming, there remains a need to differentiate between factors and processes involved in other blood sugar controls such as the process in the use of BPJS for people with diabetes and gain experience of people with Type II diabetes who use BPJS in controlling blood sugar . This research is a qualitative research with 4 participants of BPJS users. The interviews were structured thematicly analyzed using a phenomenological approach. The result of the research is the exploration of the utilization of people with diabetes in controlling blood sugar, obstacles felt by people with BPJS in controlling Blood sugar, the attempts made by people with BPJS in controlling blood sugar. So it can be concluded that the theme obtained from the results of in-depth interviews can answer research questions that experience diabetisi using BPJS in controlling blood sugar require special efforts in the form of 5 pillars of sustainable DM so that BPJS utilization can be implemented as well as possible. It is also recommended for people with diabetes to better understand the flow of reference / use of BPJS as a basis for controlling blood sugar maximum.
