Abstract

This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity by using a combination of extracts, namely kencur rhizome (Kaempferiae galanga L.) and tapak dara leaf (Catharanthus roseus). This research method was carried out experimentally, the data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variant) method with sig = 0.05 to determine the significant difference between the control group, test group. If F count > F table means that there is a significant difference, then it is continued with a further test, namely the Tukey HSD test. All data were calculated using the Windows SPSS program. The results of this study showed that the percentage of inhibition of the combination of kencur rhizome extract and tapak dara leaf was greater than that of the single administration. It can be seen that the highest percentage of inhibition of the extract combination was found at the 60th and 120th minutes with values ​​of 63.63% and 63.63%, respectively followed by kencur rhizome at the same minute with values ​​of 59.09% and 59.09% and finally tapak dara leaves at 58.44% and 58.44%, respectively. Based on the results of the SPSS test with the Tukey test, there was no significant difference between the positive control group and all treatment groups, which means that the use of a combination or single extract has anti-inflammatory activity from both extracts. Abstract

Processing of celery as diuretic is done by society in various ways. So far, the most effective preparation process of celery extract has not been known. This research aims to examine the diuretic effect of various celery extract preparation. This research was conducted using celery water extract which is made in accordance with the people’s habit, using aquades as a negative control and HCT as a positive control. The effectiveness test of celery water extract as diuretic was done on white male rat by measuring the urine volume every hour for six hours. The results showed that the largest urine volume is obtained from the boiling celery extract.

Abstract

Acid gelugur fruit (Garcinia atroviridis) is one of the Garcinia families that has long been used as traditional medicine. Gelugur acid has been widely used as a cooking spice by Malay people, but it also has the ability to reduce cholesterol. Besides that, it has antioxidant properties and can reduce body weight and cholesterol. The purpose of this study was to establish specific parameter standards and non-specific parameters from the ethanol extract of acid gelugur fruit. The extract was obtained by maceration method using 70% ethanol with a rendament of 37.15%. Specific parameters include observations of organoleptic extracts of tamarind fruit showed, dark brown, distinctive smelling, and sour. Contains several sekendur metabolites such as flavonoids and saponins. The level of the compound that is soluble in water is 3.6%, while the content of the compound dissolved in ethanol is 3.9%. Total ash content of 2.99%. Non-specific parameters include acid insoluble ash content of 1.03%. The drying rate of geluguric acid simplicia was 7.20%. Water content of sour fruit gelugur extract was 13%.

Abstract

The success of DM therapy with antidiabetic drug monotherapy is about 25-50% effectiveness, therefore combination therapy is needed. Inhibitor sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) is a new anti-diabetic drug intended for personal therapy of patients with type 2 diabetes. SGLT2 inhibitors work by inhibiting glucose reabsorption in the proximal tubule so that glucose will be excreted with urine. SGLT-2 besides being used as monotherapy can also be combined with other DM drugs.  This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of dapagliflozin monotherapy compared to metformin, saxagliptin and glimepiride in alloxan-induced Balb-c strain mice. This research was conducted experimentally on alloxan-induced hyperglycemic mice and the treatment was given for 7 days. The treatment groups were: I. normal, II. alloxan, III. dapagliflozin (D) and the dapagliflozin combination group with: IV. Metformin (DM), V. saxagliptin (DS), VI. Glimepiride (DG), VII. saxagliptin + metformin (DSM). Analysis of the decrease in blood sugar compared between groups on the 7th day after administration. The analysis was carried out using ANOVA test with a 95% confidence level. The results of this study indicate that all treatments with antidiabetic drugs alone or in combination given for 7 days can control blood sugar levels to 120 mg/dL. The combination of dapaglyfozine (DM, DS, DSM) showed a significant difference with groups D and DG (p0.05). The combination of dapagliflozin with Metformin, Saxagliptin and Meformin+Sazagliptin showed a good effectiveness in lowering blood sugar levels compared to other combinations and alone.

Abstract

Introduction: Coronavirus is an RNA virus with a particle size of 120-160 nm. This virus mainly infects animals, including bats and camels. Before the widespread coronavirus outbreak, it was known that there were 6 types of coronavirus that could infect humans, namely alphacoronavirus 229E, alphacoronavirus NL63, betacoronavirus OC43, betacoronavirus HKU1, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness Coronavirus (SARS-CoV), and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The level of public knowledge related to the Coronavirus in Indonesia is still relatively low, therefore it is necessary to carry out socialization on Smart Ways to Use Information Media in Overcoming Disinformation About the COVID-19 Vaccine. Objective: The purpose of implementing this community service activity (PKM) is to provide information to the public regarding the importance of filtering incoming information so that it does not lead to wrong assumptions or disinformation, especially the issue of the COVID-19 vaccine so that people are not easily fooled and absorb facts well. Method : This counseling is done by lecture method using posters and leaflets. Result: The pre-test which was carried out before the delivery of the material showed the results of 52.33 ± 12.30% and after the delivery of the material followed by the post-test the results were 75.00 ± 17.08%. Conclusion: The counseling participants consisting of 30 respondents from various ages and occupations were able to understand the vaccines for handling COVID-19 that were delivered.

Abstract

Penyakit metabolik yang melibatkan insulin dikenal dengan diabetes mellitus (DM) merupakan suatu gangguan yang melibatkan gangguan pada metabolisme karbohidrat, lemak dan protein yang berakibat pada peningkatan kadar glukosa darah. Diabetes melitus dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu usia, obesitas, riwayat keluarga, gangguan metabolisme glukosa, dan gaya hidup. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana efek setelah pemberian dapagliflozin tunggal dan kombinasi dengan metformin terhadap peningkatan gula darah puasa dan gula darah sewaktu pada mencit putih dengan induksi aloksan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental, data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan One Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variant) dengan signifikansi = 0,05, pengujian deilanjutkan dengan LSD Post Hoc Test untuk mengetahui perbedaan setiap kelompok perlakuan. Pengolahan data diproses dengan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa kelompok dapagliflozin monoterapi menunjukan penurunan profil kadar gula darah dengan nilai rata-rata selisih sebesar 39,48 mg/dL. Dapaglifozin-Metformin Kombinasi juga menggambarkan penurunan kadar gula darah dengan nilai rata-rata selisih sebesar 43.21 mg/dL. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan untuk terapi kombinasi anti diabetes menghasilkan efektivitas yang dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah dengan lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan dapaglifozin secara monoterapi. Analisis One way Anova penggunaan Dapagliflozin monoterapi menunjukan nilai F hitung 3.571311 dan nilai F tabel 3.4668, artinya terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna, oleh karena itu dianalisis lebih lanjut menggunakan uji LSD (BNT) kelompok dapagliflozin tunggal menunjukan nilai rata-rata kelompok 1 berbeda signifikan dengan kelompok 2 dan 3 , karena notasinya berbeda. Namun untuk yang terapi kombinasi Dapagliflozin-Metformin menunjukan nilai F hitung 1.351435 dan nilai F 3.468, artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna.

Abstract

Kecombrang stems contain flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, saponins and tannins that have the potential to inhibit bacterial growth. This study aims to determine the physical properties, stability and antibacterial activity of the ethyl acetate extract of kecombrang stem ointment.This type of research is an experimental laboratory. Extraction using maceration method with ethyl acetate solvent. The concentrations of the extracts used were F1 (10%), F2 (15%) and F3 (20%). Testing of physical properties seen from organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, adhesion and spreadability. The results were analyzed by One Way Anova and there were significant differences in the pH value, adhesion and dispersion. Formulas 1, 2 and 3 can inhibit Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria with an average inhibition zone of (F1) 8.02 mm, (F2) 9.34 mm and (F3) 11.00 mm. Based on this research, it can be concluded that F3 is the best formula with a strong inhibition zone, while F1 and F2 have moderate inhibition.

Abstract

Ointment is semisolid preparations used by topical. Leaf tea green contain beneficial flavonoid compounds, tannins and catechins as antibacterial. On research this extract leaf tea green made preparation ointment using a watersoluble base i.e combination of PEG 4000 and PEG 400 with comparison (2:3) on formula 1, (1:1) on formula 2 and (3:2) on formula 3. Research this aim for see nature physique preparation ointment as well as power resistor to bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. Test results nature physique from the three formulas include color, odor, shape, homogeneity, pH have good result during the storage period, while power spread and power sticky have less result good. The results of the One Way ANOVA analysis show that existence significant difference in the value of power spread and power sticky. The results of the paired test t test analysis show existence influence During storage to pH and power spread ointment. Test antibacterial conducted use method well. Antibacterial test results show the three formulas have zones of inhibition categorized strong.

Abstract

Ointment is a semi-solid preparation that is used topically. Arabic bidara leaves contain secondary metabolites in the form of saponins, tannins, alkaloids, polyphenols and flavonoids which can inhibit the antibacterial growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis so that it can be made in ointment preparations. The purpose of thi study was to determine the physical properties and zone of inhibition of the formulation of the ethanol extract of bidara arabic leaf ointment. Extraction using remaceration method with 70% ethanol solvent was formulated using a water-soluble ointment base in the from of PEG 400 and PEG 4000. Made in 3 variations of extract concentration 40%, 50%, 60%. Furthermore, the evaluation of the preparation include: organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, disperbility, adhesion. The results of the One Way ANOVA analysis showed that there werw differences in the pH test, dispersion and adhesion with a p-value of <0,05 the homogeneity test showed differences during storage for 6 cycles, while the organoleptic test was in a stable state during storage. The results obtained showed that the preparation of bidara arabic leaf extract ointment was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus Epidermidis bacteria, namely the FI of 9.16±0.76 mm, FII of 8.56±1.01 mm and FIII of 10.08±0.10 mm is included in the medium category.
