Abstract

Soursop plants is a plant that is widely available in Indonesia. In addition tofruit that can be directly consumed. The main content of soursop is active compounds annonaceusacetogenin. The leaves are most part annonaceus acetogenin containing compoundsthat are known to have the effect of insecticide, antifeedant repelant and works as acontact and stomach poison toxin in Aedes aegypti larvae. The purpose of this study was todetermine the effect of extract of soursop’s leaves (Annona muricata Zinn) as larvicides ofAedes aegypti in different levels of concentrations. This research is quasi-experimental. Thesamples used were 600 instar larvae of Aedes aegypti III/IV. Each treatment containing 25larvae and repetition as much as 4 times. Soursop leaf extract concentration tested, namely 0%(control), 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. The result is the number of Aedes aegypti larvaewere dead after 24 hours in each concentration group. Greatest death in a concentration of25% is as much as 92%, while the lowest mortality at a concentration of 5% is as much as15%. The results of the study were further tested with One Way Anova. Statistical test resultsobtained with One Way Anova sig. = 0.000 so that ρ < α (0.05) means that there is a significanteffect on the difference in average number of larvae mortality in each treatment groupbecause of increasing the concentration. LSD test results showed a mean difference significantat the 0.05 level. From the results of this research community can use extract of soursop’sleaves with a concentration of 25% as an alternative to eradication of Aedes aegypti is a vectorof Dengue Fever (DHF). Further research needs to be done on the toxicology and safety ofsoursop leaf extract as an alternative to the eradication of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae

Abstract

Biduri plants (Calatropis gigantea) is a wild plant that is very difficult to destroybecause of rapid breeding. One of the toxins contained in Biduri is saponin. Therefore Biduriplants very well be used as a repellent for Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. The researchobjective was to determine the effectiveness of the roots Biduri larvicides against Aedesaegypti larvae mortality. This research is True Experiments with posttest study design OnlyControl Group Design. Statistical test results obtained by the one way Anova sig. = 0.000 sothat ρ <α (0.05) means that there is a significant influence on differences in dosing solutionBiduri roots are used against Aedes aegypti larvae mortality. Further post hoc test to determinedifferences in average - average each treatment group using Multiple Comparisons Analysis,LSD (Least Square Difference) obtained sig. = 0.00 so that ρ <α (0.05) means that there aresignificant differences in the deadly Aedes aegypti larvae of the four doses were given.Control of Aedes aegypti larvae using Biduri root solution can be done by affixing the rootsolution with 38 ml of solution Biduri root Biduri every 1 liter of water for 24 hours ofexposure.

The subjects were patients hospitalizedchildren total sample of 40 people that match specified criteria were respondents. Analysis ofthe chi-square test statistic with 95% confidence level and using SPSS. The results of theresearch relationship with the appearance of food waste was found that patients whoexpressed the food looks attractive with good leftovers as much as 60 %. There is nosignificant correlation between the appearance presented by the rest of the food ( ρ = 0.191 ).The results of the research relationship with the taste of food leftovers found that patients whoexpressed the taste of food in accordance with the rest of the good food that is as much as 62.1%. This researchuse descriptive analytic research desaign with case control scheme. The population in thisresearch is all of the children under five years old in Puskesmas Sukamerindu region, thesample is 60 childs under five years old with case sample is taking by total sampling andcontrol sample is taking by purposive sampling. The method of taking the data is usingsecondary data and primary data (quisionary whereas the method of analyzing data is usingChi-Square). The result of univaried analyzing is almost half of part (31,7%) mother’s hadless of knowledge degree, almost half of past (45,0%) family had low of economic level, almost half of part (46,7%) family had the sum of family members > 4 persons. Abstract

The water contamination in one place can affect the other places located far fromthe source of pollution. One of the rivers that are polluted is Bengkulu river. One of thecauses of pollution in Bengkulu river that is coal waste originating from coal mine companyin the upstream of the river, which is still in service until now. The coal handling treatment ascrushing, grinding, washing, drying and low temperature combustion can cause any harmfulchemical substances like lead. Lead can get into the human body through the digestive tractabsorption or through the respiratory tract (inhalation) and skin absorption. One way ofdisposal of heavy metal elements from the body is to accumulate in the hair, so the hairanalysis is a good way to estimate the content of heavy metal elements in the body anddetermine its connection with hypertension. The purpose of this study is to determine thecontent of lead in a coal waste accumulates in hair of coal waste collectors society inBengkulu river associated with hypertension. This study is an analytic observational studywith cross sectional study design. The case that will be studied is about the accumulation ofhair lead of coal waste collectors society in Bengkulu river against hypertension. The studylocation is in Bengkulu river. Sample examination was conducted by Atomic AbsorptionSpectrophotometry (AAS) analytical methods, and then performed statistical tests todetermine its connection with hypertension. The result of this study showed, from 40respondents there were 14 respondents (35%) who had hair lead levels > 12μg/g sufferedfrom hypertension and 13 respondents (32.5%) who had hair lead levels > 12μg/g but did notsuffered from hypertension, and p(0.03)< 0.05 value which indicates a significant association.Significant association between the levels of lead in the hair of coal waste collectors society inBengkulu river with hypertension

Abstract

Anxiety is the most common feeling experienced by patients that have beingbeen taken care in a hospital. They feel worried with their disease more often and whatmay happen. Anxiety will be more increasing as the patients need to undergo surgery. Toreduce this feeling, patients need to get relaxation intervention by using lavenderaromatherapy and music. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of music andlavender aromatherapy in reducing the level of anxiety of patients undergoing surgery. The design of research is Quasi Experiment with pre-test and post-test approach and alsouses independent and independent T test. Non probability sampling with purposivesampling technique is used to determine the samples. The number of samples in eachgroup is 18 respondents. Before the use of lavender intervention, 94,4% respondentsundergo high anxiety and after the treatment, it happens to only 44.4% respondents.Meanwhile, the treatment of using music is able to reduce the level of anxiety from 94,4%respondents, before the intervention, to 33,3% respondents, after the intervention. Thestatistic test using independent T-test shows p: 0,000 to the group of lavender interventionand p: 0,000 to the group of music. This explains that there is a significant influence ofusing aromatherapy lavender and music intervention in reducing the level of anxiety ineach group. After the treatment, patients feel more relaxed. There is a significantinfluence of using aromatherapy and music in reducing the level of anxiety in patientsundergoing laparatomi surgery. It is important to include intervention of aromatherapyand music as standard operation procedure in reducing the level of anxiety in patientsundergoing laparatomi surgery.
