ABSTRACTMother's knowledge about balanced nutrition is important, since the role of the mother in the family is as the manager of food service. The quantity and quality of food and beverages consumed in the family level will affect health of all family’s members and finally it will affect communities as well. To keep the body healthy and is protected from chronic diseases or non-communicable diseases (NCDs) related to nutrition, individual diet needs to be improved to nutritionally balanced through consumption. Efforts have been made in monitoring the nutritional status and a set of good diet. This study aimed to explore understanding of mothers about balanced nutrition and nutritional status of preschool children at IT Auladuna kindergarten in Bengkulu City. It was an observational design with cross sectional study, take place at IT Auladuna kindergarten in Bengkulu City. The study population was a preschooler. Sampling was taken using proportional sample size (PPS) of 68 people. Data on maternal knowledge were collected through interviews using questionnaires, Body Weight (BW) and height of children were measured using standarized equipments. Based on the chi-square test results showed that mother’s knowledge about tumpeng/cone balanced nutrition had a significant relationship to nutritional status of preschooler (p ≤ 0.05), whereas knowledge about My Plate is not associated with nutritional status of preschooler. This study concluded that only the knowledge of mothers about cone-balanced nutrition was significant to nutritional status of their preschool children at IT Auladuna kindergarten in Bengkulu City.Keywords: nutritional status, knowledge of mother, balanced nutrition, preschool childrenABSTRAKPengetahuan ibu tentang gizi seimbang sangatlah penting, mengingat peran ibu dalam keluarga sebagai pengelola makanan. Upaya yang dilakukan dalam memantau status gizi dengan mengatur pola makan yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pemahaman ibu tentang tumpeng gizi seimbang dengan status gizi anak prasekolah di TK IT Auladuna Kota Bengkulu. Desain penelitian ini adalah observasional dengan metode cross sectional di TK IT Auladuna Kota Bengkulu. Populasi penelitian adalah anak prasekolah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara proporsional sampel sebanyak 68 orang. Data tentang pengetahuan ibu dilakukan dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner dan data pengukuran BB dan TB anak dilakukan dengan melakukan penimbangan dan pengukuran menggunakan alat terstandar. Berdasarkan uji chi-square diperoleh hasil bahwa hanya pengetahuan tentang tumpeng gizi seimbang ada hubungan nyata dengan status gizi (p 0,05), namun tidak pada pengetahuan tentang piring makanku. Pengetahuan tentang gizi seimbang perlu ditingkatkan pada semua kelompok masyarakat khususnya pada ibu yang mempunyai anak prasekolah.

Tempe is the ancestral heritage of Indonesia are priceless. Unfortunately, it turns up the current status of soybean as part of the diet of Indonesian society has not appreciated as it should be. For those who like tempeh, tempeh consumed more because it's cheap. As for those who do not like, tempeh regarded as second-class food. Development of tempeh can be established range of food varied and creative, one soybean milk. But tempeh has a weakness, a bitter taste and sediment. Thus a processing technique that can reduce the weaknesses. One was the addition of gelatin as an emulsifier. Research Methods. This study is an experimental research by providing treatment in a sample of the addition of agar-agar, alginate, carrageenan on milk and tempe. The study was conducted with a completely randomized design (CRD). Further analysis of the obtained blue methilen statistically analyzed by One-Way ANOVA test with a significance level of 5% Two Way Anova test followed. As for the sensory data using a test like or Hedonic scale Scale Test with 30 panelists, and the data obtained is processed by Kruskal Wallis test with subsequent Mann Whitney test. Research. Results showed no effect of the addition of agar-agar, alginate and carrageenan to changes in methylene blue milk tempeh. In general, the organoleptic properties of soybean milk is the preferred milk with the addition of soybean agar instant. This study can be continued by looking at the effect of adding flavor to the milk's favorite tempe.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the patient'sappearance and taste of the food with the rest of the food in the child's room inpatient hospitalDr. Sobirin Musi Rawas in 2013. This research uses a cross-sectional design with purposivesampling technique. With the independent variable ( the appearance and taste of food thepatient ) and the dependent variable (food scraps ). The subjects were patients hospitalizedchildren total sample of 40 people that match specified criteria were respondents. Analysis ofthe chi-square test statistic with 95% confidence level and using SPSS. The results of theresearch relationship with the appearance of food waste was found that patients whoexpressed the food looks attractive with good leftovers as much as 60 %. There is nosignificant correlation between the appearance presented by the rest of the food ( ρ = 0.191 ).The results of the research relationship with the taste of food leftovers found that patients whoexpressed the taste of food in accordance with the rest of the good food that is as much as 62.1%. There was a significant association between the taste of food with leftovers patients ( ρ =0.034 and OR = 7.364 value ).

Changing patterns of human life cause various diseases, such as infectiousdiseases and malnutrition to degenerative diseases, including heart disease(cardiovascular). One of the major risk factors of cardiovascular diseases characterized byelevated levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Fruits and vegetables are also animportant part of the diet to prevent cardiovascular disease, by providing vitamins,minerals, fiber and potassium. This research was conducted in Poly of Cardio HospitalOutpatient Dr.M.Yunus design used was observational analytic with cross-sectionalapproach. Sampling by means of purposive sampling with a sample numbering 81 people.Data consumption of fiber and potassium patients obtained by filling out a form semiquantitativeFFQ is eaten last month. The results showed that there is a relationshipbetween fiber intake (p-value = 0.001), the consumption of potassium (p-value = 0.000)with LDL cholesterol levels in outpatients at Poly of Cardio Dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu.Nutritionist in collaboration with Doctors and Nurses in Heart Poli Dr. M YunusBengkulu in the form of consultation and counseling when CHD patients examinationevery month.

Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan salah satu penyebab dari penyakit kardiovaskular. Studi epidemiologi membuktikan ada hubungan antara peningkatan kadar kolesterol total, khususnya kolesterol LDL dengan kejadian PJK, penurunan kadar kolesterol dapat menurunkan resiko kejadian kardiovaskular dan kolesterol yang tidak normal meningkatkan resiko hipertensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian es krim ubi jalar ungu terhadap kadar kolesterol total dan tekanan darah pada pasien hiperkolesterolemia.Desain penelitian ini adalah Pra-eksperimental dengan metode one group pretest-posttest. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Intervensi yang diberikan adalah pemberian es krim ubi jalar ungu sebanyak 60 gr (1 cup) per hari selama 28 hari. Data yang didapat dianalisa menggunakan uji t-test dependen. Pemberian es krim ubi jalar ungu berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kadar kolesterol total dan tekanan darah dengan nilai p < 0,05. Ada pengaruh pemberian es krim ubi jalar ungu terhadap kadar kolesterol total dan tekanan darah pada pasien hiperkolesterolemia di Puskesmas Basuki Rahmat.

Obesity is a condition of excessive weight due to excessive accumulation of fatin the body. The prevalence of obesity aged ≥ 15 years in 2015 in Bengkulu city is 308people (3.15%), the prevalence increases compared with the previous year. The purposeof this research is to know the influence of nutrition counseling to knowledge, energyintake, fat intake, and fiber intake in obese teenager at vocational high school 01bengkulu city in 2017. This research is pre-experiment research with pretest-postest onegroupdesign. The number of respondents obtained as many as 17 samples with SimpleRandom Sampling technique. Knowledge data were obtained from questionnairestatements, energy intake data, fat intake and fiber intake, obtained from 24-hour recallform. The data obtained were analyzed using the dependent T-test and Wilcoxon test. Theresults showed that there was influence of nutritional counseling to knowledge, there wasinfluence of nutritional counseling to energy intake, and there influence of nutritioncounseling to fat intake, whereas in fiber intake there was no effect of nutritioncounseling to fiber intake, mean post intervention was lower than pre intervention.Respondents need to pay attention and increase the consumption of foods high in fiberand lower consumption of foods high in energy and high fat and increase physicalactivity. As a follow up of nutrition counseling activities, schools are expected to providefacilities and infrastructure for adolescents to conduct nutritional counseling.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by corona virus. This study aims to look at the habit of washing hands, sunbathing, and media information obtained by the people of southern Sumatra during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used a cross-sectional design with 419 respondents as many as 16 years old who lived in South Sumatra Province. The questionnaire in this study was in the form of e-survey using google form media and distributed through social media (Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram). A Chi-square test was used to see the relationship between hand washing, sunbathing, and media information on men and women. The results showed that hand washing (OR = 1,127; 95% CI: 1,089 - 1,167) there was no significant relationship between men and women, while there was a significant relationship in sunbathing (OR = 1,884; 95% CI: 0.992 - 3,581) and information media (OR = 0.473; 95% CI: 0.246 - 0.911). The community is expected to apply the habit of washing hands, sunbathing, and digging information in various media in overcoming the prevention and impact of COVID-19.

Background: Increasing cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia every day and creating new clusters. One of the reasons for the increase in cases is the level of knowledge about COVID-19. Knowledge is a person's foundation in practicing his activities every day. A good practice is based on a good level of knowledge.Objectives: The research objective is to see an overview of the knowledge and practices of Indonesian society in dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak.Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with 6,557 respondents, the criteria were above 16 years old who live in Indonesia. The research was conducted in June 2020. The questionnaire is an e-survey using google form media and is distributed via social media (Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram). The knowledge and practice of the people in this statistical analysis used only univariate analysis.Results: The results show that in general the knowledge of the Indonesian people is correct from the 12 questions asked. The mean score of knowledge of male respondents was 75.13±29.47, while for women it was 77.16±26.50. The average practice score of male respondents was 81.33±19.95, while the female respondents were 87.18±16.13.Conclusion: The higher the knowledge, the better the community practices in preventing and reducing the transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Background: Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by corona virus. Smokers are the most vulnerable group form Covid-1. Dirty hands can spread disease by providing entry to pathogens, bacteria, or viruses. Handwashing could be effective and efficient prevention to prevent covid-19 infection.Objective: To determine the relationship between gender and smoking habits, handwashing and nutritional behavior among respondents.Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 966 people who lived in Bengkulu Province. Data collection was carried out by online questionnaire which were distributed through WhatsApp media. Data analysis used the chi-square test.Results: There were significant relationship between gender and smoking habits (p = 0.003), gender and handwashing (p = 0.000), gender and nutritional behavior related with fresh food consumptions (p = 0.026). There were no relationship between gender and nutritional behavior related to preserved/instant foods consumption (p = 0.463), nutritional behavior and fruit-vegetable consumption habits (p = 0.090).Conclusion: There is a relationship between gender and smoking and handwashing habits.
