Abstract

The purpose of this final paper is to visualize the activities of traditional gambir farmers in Kapur IX District in the work of Graphic Arts with Relief Print technique, namely Hardboard Cut. Gambir farmer activity starts from gambier leaf making, leaf processing until the sap comes out, freezing sap, gambier painting, and drying. Activities they do aim to meet their basic needs such as clothing, food, and boards. The method of creation of this final paper uses 5 stages of preparation, elaboration, synthesis, concept realization, and completion, and the last one to hold painting exhibition by using oil paint media on paper.

Abstract

Woven fabric Indragiri already existed since the time of the Malay kingdom Indragiri located in Riau mainland, with conventional motives and values shape the philosophy that has been inherent in people's lives Rengat. One of the functions of Indragiri woven fabric is used as a wedding dress in a traditional wedding ceremony Rengat. The existence of the wedding dress weaving looms Indragiri endangered and communities also lack an understanding of the function and meaning of wedding dress woven in a traditional wedding ceremony Indragiri Rengat.This study aimed to describe the form, function and motifs woven Indragiri wedding dress in traditional wedding ceremony Rengat .Methods that researchers use is through a qualitative approach. Subjects were informants who know about the object of research. Sources of data in the form of notes or recordings taken from informants interviewed, documentation and study of literature and photo footage from the wedding dress woven Indragiri in traditional wedding ceremony Rengat .The results showed that the basic motif of the wedding dress woven Indragiri generally sourced from flora and nature. There are eight motif name of the bride clothing Weaving Indragiri namely : pedada, tampuk manggis, pucuk rebung, tembangun, beawan, teluk berantai, betabo and tali air. Wedding dress woven motifs function Indragiri also visualize religious symbols and symbolic systems Malay indigenous life as portrayed in traditional wedding ceremony Rengat which includes evening events berinai, Berandam, Khatam Al - Quran, pick the groom, bridal march male and biting event .The conclusion of the research was the wedding dress woven motifs form Indragiri only resemble the flora and nature. Function woven motifs on wedding apparel, namely as a means of visualizing Indragiri religious symbols and symbolic systems Indragiri Malay customs

Abstract

This thesis aims to meaning of various human facial expressions into the media of painting through a different perspective in a non-verbal language. Behavior through mind giving motion effects that can be read, the theoretical study of the motion comes as spontaneous thoughts due to certain conditions.Variety of facial expressions which appear in everyday not only be passed or ignored, but after exploration of facial expressions can be appreciated by a work of art that can be enjoyed by many people, so the meaning behind facial expressions can be known through the media of painting, there are 10 tittles of thesis there are: 1. Happiness, 2. Appreciations, 3. Sad, 4. Repugnant, 5. Surprised, 6. Shock, 7. Thinking, 8. Search, 9 tired, and 10. AngryKata Kunci : Mengungkap berbagai makna ekspresi wajah manusia ke dalam media lukis melalui perspektif yang berbeda dalam bahasa rupa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the motive’s shape, placement, meaning, and function of Serawai woven cloth. The method used is qualitative one with the descriptive approach. The results shows that the shape of weaving motifs composed of vertical stripes, horizontal, curved, zigzag, and flat plane. The forms are derived from the shape of the flora, fauna, nature, and geometric. The placement motifs on Serawai woven cloth namely: 1) The head cloth, 2) Edge of cloth, 3) Bottom cloth, and 4) Field of cloth. The meaning of Serawai decorative woven cloth is symbolic, natural evironment, means of livelihood, and customs and the ideals of life of local residents. It’s function is divided into a social function, culture, and life functions.Keywords: Form, Placement, Meaning and Function of Woven Fabrics Serawai Bengkulu City.

Abstract

The purpose of this research were (1) to describe the contents of fine arts material at SMP Perguruan  Islam Ar Risalah Padang, (2) to find out the Islamic values in the fine arts material at SMP Perguruan  IslamArRisalah. The data source of this research is fine arts teaching materials. As for data collection  through observation, documentation and interviews. The research findings based on the suitability table of material in the quadra book contained 91% of material that was in accordance with Islamic law and 9% of the material was not in accordance with Islamic law. Whereas in the book of the Ministry of Education and Culture there are 62.5% of material that is in accordance with Islamic law and 37.5% of material is less in accordance with Islamic law.Kata kunci: Nilai-nilai Islami, Materi Seni Rupa

Abstract

This struggling of monumental PDRI creation is one of identities to commemorate or remind the important event by a social group as a part of expotulation the struggle history of PDRI at Koto Tinggi, West Sumatera in the past. Now, the condition of munument is poor because there is no people try to keep it again, and most of the society do not know about the monument itself.This research is purposed for describing and analysing the monument building of PDRI from it structures until the meaning of its build.This research use the qualitative methodology with the sort of description research to describe everything that was found on the field, and it agrees with the research and reality. The purpose of descriptive method is to describe or analyze the result of research, but it does not use to make more widely conclusion.The result of research shows that PDRI monument was built for remembering the PDRI (The Emergency Government Monument Of Indonesian Republic) events. It is about the moving of central country, Jakarta, to West Sumatera. The factor that influence PDRI monuments are history factors, the person who was in the event, and designers. Meanwhile, the meaning of its become the core prinsipal on designing monument. Beside that, the monument is not just an evidence of event that it was happend, but it’s to be a characteristic and identity of a place. Thus, the monument has to be able to give an impression about history and a message for society.Keywords : PDRI Monuments, Structures and Meaning.

Abstract

The creation of this final work aims to visualize the ferret behavior of human activities at night related to human behavior today into the form of graphic art works (linoleum cut). Showing a variety of human behavior that is mostly done today. The embodiment method of this final work goes through five stages: preparation, elaboration, synthesis, concept realization, and completion. Abstract

This works which with wayang kulit Purwa objects in decorative paintings, is aim to visualize the local culture by presenting a new case based on the socio-cultural while deepening the concepts and maturing engineering capabilities.  The  sources  of  ideas  is  based  on  the  various  cases  which  is weakening of the rate in younger generation in appreciate the puppet, the audience of the puppets which has been generally the older generation over the age of 50 years. In this cases the authors worked with a puppet trying to show a different side of the decorative style of painting. Form the process of long creation, it can be concluded that nobility inherent value of ten works is the value of patience, courtesy, trust in Allah, the effort to achieve the wishes, devotion to parents, get knowledge, wisdom, justice in attitude, honesty, courage and so forth.Keywords : Wayang Purwa, Seni Lukis Dekoratif.

Abstract

Lotus flower are aquatic plants that live in swamps or pons. Lotus flowers mostly grow in muddy and dirty water, so the lotus flowers can grow well without being affected by the surrounding environment. The uniqueness and beauty of the lotus flower is very interesting to be used as an inspiration in creating artwork that is embroidered ribbon and embroidery techniques.This creation of works aims to visualize the beauty of the lotua flower. The technique used in ribbon embroidery using sewing machine techniques. After performing a series of long creation process, then creates 10 embroidered ribbon with titles : 1) Spirit, 2) Life journey, 3) Independence, 4) Compete, 5) Survive, 6) Never Give Up, 7) Allgiance, 8) End Story, 9) Leaders, 10) Together. These embroidery and embroidered works should be a good economic value and business opportunity.Keywords : Lotus, Embroidered Ribbon and Embroidery.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe methods, media, technigues forimplementing learning batik at the Negeri 8 Padang Vocational High Scool. This type of research is descriptive research with qualitative methods. Data analysis in this study was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, data conclusion. Batik written is one of the batik technigues that has high values of creativity in designing have not been mastered by students, the batik process (Batik) will not carried out properly.
