Abstract

The research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes by using the Course Reivew Horay type of cooperative learning model in science subjects with the material of efforts to balance and preserve natural resources in their environment in private IV-A elementary school St. Petrus Medan Learning Year 2018/2019. Subjects in this study were students of grade IV-A Elementary School Private St. Petrus Medan Learning Year 2018/2019 totaling 28 students, consisting of 14 female students and 14 male students. The object in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) by applying two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes in science subjects with the material of efforts to balance and preserve natural resources in their environment in class IV-A Elementary School of Private St. Petrus Medan Learning Year 2017/2018. This is evident from the results of the research that has been done on the students' pre-test scores that are complete only 1 student or 3.57% while the students who are not complete are 27 students or 96.43%, then continued the research in the first cycle of students who got complete scores only 15 students or 53.58% of students who did not complete as many as 13 students or 46.42% then experienced an increase in the first cycle compared to the pretest. In the implementation of the first cycle, it still does not meet the predetermined completeness category. Then continued the research in the second cycle, namely students who got complete scores as many as 25 students or 89.29% while students who did not complete only 3 students or 10.71% then experienced an increase in the second cycle compared to the first cycle and have fulfilled the predetermined completeness . Furthermore, the teacher's activities on observation cycle I gained an average of 62% and in the second cycle increased to 84%. While the activities of students in the learning process obtain an average of 70 and in cycle II has increased to 80. ` Thus it can be concluded by using the Course Reivew Horay type of cooperative learning model on natural science subjects in the effort to balance and preserve natural resources in their environment in class IV-A SD St. Petrus Medan can improve student learning outcomes. So it is recommended for further learning to use it.

Abstract

This research was aimed to (1) Increasing the result of civic educationlesson by cooperative learning model numbered heads together (NHT) on studentat Fifth grade of SD Budi Murni 6 Medan academic year 2016-2017. (2)Describing problems that faced in applying of cooperative learning modelnumbered heads together (NHT) in order to increase the result of civic educationsubject. The subject that did this research was the researcher that collaboratedwith homeroom teacher as observer meanwhile the object of this research wasstudent at fifth grade of SD Budi Murni 6 Medan totally 37 students thatcontained 20 male and 17 female. The technique in colleting the data byobservation to the result of study test and activity of student‟s study. The result ofthe research showed the increase of result of student‟s study on civic educationsubject and the material mention organizations within the school and communityof on student at fifth grade of SD Budi Murni 6 Medan. This thing proved by theresult of research that was done on student‟s pretest and the student got maximumscore amount 6 students (16,21%) meanwhile student that had not been achievedamount 31 students (83,79%). So the next research was continued on cycle I thestudent that had been passed the maximum score was 15 students or 40,54%meanwhile student that had not been passed totally 22 students or 59,46%,, sothere was an increase on cycle I compared to pretest. But it had not beenappropriated the category of completion that had been determined. So it wascontinued by cycle II and the student got complete score totally 33 students or89,18% meanwhile student that had not been passed amount 4 students or10,82%, so there was an increase on cycle II compared to cycle I and it had beenfulfilled the completion that had been determined. Next on cycle I teacher didactivity and got averaging amount 60% and there was an increase to be 88% oncycle II. Meanwhile the activity of student on learning process got averagingamount 58% and there was an increase to be 92% on cycle II. By that mean theconclusion was got that by using cooperative learning model numbered headstogether (NHT) on civic education subject by material of mention organizationswithin the school and community at fifth grade SD Budi Murni 6 MedanAcademic Year 2016-2017 could be increase the result of student‟s study.Therefore it was suggested to use the cooperative learning model numbered headstogether (NHT) for the next study in order to increase the student‟s study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Problem Based Learning models on students’ learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SDN 068003 P.Simalingkar Medan in July 2018. The subjects of research were 33 students’. The research method is a One Shot Case Study that is carried out in one class. The instrument used to collecting the data is a multiple choice test. Hypothesis testing is done using the "t-test".The results of statistical calculations showed that the students' mathematics learning outcomes using conventional learning models included in the sufficient category with the students’ mean score is 64.24, while the learning outcomes through the Problem Based Learning model in the excellent category with the mean score is 80.90. Furthermore, hypothesis testing shows that t count is 83.3 and then consulted with table t at the significant α = 0.05 with dk = 64 is 1.67. Therefore, the tcount obtained is greater than t table that is 83.3> 1.67 so it is proven that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. So it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model influences for the students’ learning outcomes in Mathematics subjects at the fifth grade students’ of SDN 068003 P.Simalingkar Medan in academic year 2018/2019. Thus, this learning model is appropriate for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is intended to improve science learning outcomes by using STAD type cooperative learning model in grade V students of St. Antonius BangunMulia academic year 2017/2018. Subjects in doing this action are the researchers who work together with the homeroom as observers, while the object of this research is the students of grade V SD St. Antonius BangunMulia Medan which requires 35 students consisting of 15 men and 20 women. Data processing techniques through observation of the results of learning tests and student learning activities. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes in science subjectspda material digestive system food in human class V St. Antonius BangunMulia Medan. This is evident from the results of research conducted on the pretest of students who get the complete value of 5 people or 14.29% while students who are not complete as many as 30 people or 85.71%. So began the research on the first cycle of students who got the complete value of 21 people or 60% while the unfinished students as many as 14 people or 40%, then an increase in the cycle I compared to the pretest. Will not meet the completed category of mastery already in the set. So began the research on cycle II of students who get thoroughly as many as 30 people or 85.71% while students who are not complete as many as 5 people or 14.29%, then there is an increase in cycle II depending on the cycle I and already meet the specified mastery. Furthermore, teacher activity on observation I giving cycle average of 60% and in cycle II has increased to 86%. While the student activity on the learning process resulted in an average of 60% and in cycle II has increased to 82%. Thus developed by using cooperative learning model type STAD science subjects on food system material in human grade V SD St. Antonius BangunMulia Medan can improve student learning outcomes. therefore it is recommended for subsequent learning to use STAD type cooperative learning model so that student learning outcomes can be improved

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class V students of SD Negeri 023905 Kebun Lada by applying the inquiry method. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles and each cycle consists of: 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. Data collection techniques are carried out by observing activities and learning outcomes tests. The results showed an increase in learning outcomes of Class V students of SD Negeri 023905 Kebun Lada. It can be seen from the results of the implementation of teacher activity learning that it increased from 70% with a fairly good category in the first cycle to 85% with a good category in the second cycle, while from the observation the implementation of student learning activities increased from 65% to the poor category in the first cycle 85% in the good category in cycle II. Furthermore, classical learning completeness of students has increased from 63.64% in the first cycle to 90.91% in the second cycle.

TAHUNNYA 57MENERAPKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN QUANTUM TEACHINGUNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DALAMKETERAMPILAN MENULIS KARANGAN NARASIDI KELAS V SD DHARMA WANITA PERTIWI MEDANTAHUN PEMBELAJARAN 2017/2018OLEH:INDAH AYU IRWINA SILALAHI(PGSD FKIP UNIVERSITAS KATOLIK SANTO THOMAS SU)ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the study of class action research (PTK)using the model of learning quantum teaching on the subjects of Indonesialanguage in class V SD Dharma Women Pertiwi Medan. The research approachused is qualitative approach with the subject of research, that is, students of classV SD Dharma Women Pertiwi Medan, especially VB class which amounted to 24people. Data collection technique used are observation and test. The main datasource of this research is primary data. Primary data sources were obtained fromteachers and students in grade V SD Dharma Woman Pertiwi Medan. The resultsof the research in the first cycle obtained by observation of teacher activity 54%,observation of student activity 55%, and complete according to value MinimumExhaustiveness Criterion (KKM) is 10 people with percentage 42%, whileunfinished 14 students with percentage 58,3% from a total 24 students. Theaverage score of students in the first cycle was 60,75. Students who complete theclassical has not reached 75%, then continued in the next cycle. In the secondcycle, the result of observation of the teacher activity is 94%, the observationresult of student activity is 82,5%, and that is complete according to KKM value22 people with percentage 92%, while 2 students wit unfinished percentage 8,3%from 24 students. The average value of cycle II is 87,75. Based on the dataanalysis it can be concluded that the application of the model of learning quantumteaching to improve the learning outcomes In Skills Creating Narrative Essay InStudents Class V Sd Dharma Women Pertiwi Medan Year Learning 2017/2018has both categorized and student learning outcomes increased. Limitations of thisresearch is a model of learning Quantum Teaching is a model of learning thatinvites students to be more focused and creative in writing a good articlenarrative. Based on the results of this study suggested to elementary schoolteachers to be more creative in implementing the model of learning QuantumTeaching on the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects in grade IV SD Negeri 047166 Sukadame by using a Scientific model. Subjects in this study were fourth grade students totaling 28 students and the object of this study was to improve student learning outcomes by using a Scientific model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is divided into 3 stages, namely general ideas, exploration, and action plans. Data collection techniques used are tests and observations, tests are given as many as 10 questions in multiple choice form. The questions given were pretest, post cycle I and post cycle II. While observation includes observing teacher activities and observing student activities in the learning process.The results of the study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes. In the pretest, it was found that the average value of 50 and the level of completeness in classical was 17.9%. In cycle I experienced an increase after using a Scientific model with an average value of 72.14, with a classical completeness level of 39.3%. And after the action taken and given post cycle II, it was obtained as many as 25 students who completed their learning outcomes and 5 students who did not complete their learning outcomes with the average posttest value of cycle II increased to 84.2% and the classical completeness level reached 82.1% . From the results obtained it can be concluded that the Scientific model can improve student learning outcomes in class IV SD Negeri 047166 Sukadame Learning Year 2018/2019. Based on the results of the study, the teacher is advised to use a Scientific model because it is proven to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the correlation of the Character Building in Family and School to the Child’s Learning Achievement at the Elementary School Based on the Catholics and Protestant Religion in the City of Medan. This is a correlation research using quantitative approach. The population used in this research are grades four and five pupils of the elementary school based on Catholic and Protestant religion in the city of Medan with the total of six hundred pupils. The sampling quota was used in sampling process. Datas in this research were obtained by using character building questionnaire in families and school. The analysis technique in this research is using Statistic Program For Social Science (SPSS) ver. 22. The result of the research showed that to build the character of the pupils in the families and school with its correlation to the learning achievement, the following should be considered: parents do not tell lies in front of their children, teachers should cut the students’ marks if they are late in collecting their assignments and punish them when they do not do their homework.

Abstract

The problem in the research is the low learning result of Social Science (IPS) of natural and artificial environment in class III, one of the causal factor is the instructional model used by the teacher is less varied. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of learning and improvement of student learning outcomes by using cooperative learning model type Number Head Together (NHT). This research was conducted at State Elementary School 064024 Medan Selayang, with classroom action research. The subjects of the research are students of class III-B amounting to 25 students, while the object of research is to improve the learning result of Social Sciences (IPS) by using cooperative learning model type Head Head Together on Social Science subject. Data collection techniques used observations and tests. From the results of data analysis obtained the results of observation of the implementation of teacher activity learning in cycle I obtained the number of points 34 with a percentage of 68%. Observation of student activity cycle I obtained the number of points 26 with a percentage of 52%. The classical learning outcomes increased from 40.00% to 88.00% and the average value increased from 60.08 to 77.06. From the results of the study can be concluded the implementation of learning both categorized and student learning  outcomes increased after using cooperative learning model type Number Head  together(NHT) on subjects Social Sciences material Natural and artificial environment in class III-B SD Negeri 064024 Medan Selayang.

Abstract

Mathematics tends to be difficult to be accepted and understood bystudents, so it is causing the intresting of students about mathematics quite low.The low result of study’s student is to be a base to research, where the purpose ofthis research is to see the improvement of result of study’s students inmathematics. The type of this research is a classroom action research by usingSTAD type cooperative learning model (Student Teams Achievement Division). Itconsists of two cycles which are planning, implementation, observation, andreflection. This research was held at SDN 065014 Namo Gajah Medan. Thesubject of the study was the students of grade V of SDN 065014 Namo GajahMedan, which were 25 students, while the object was using cooperative learningmodel of stad type (student teams achievement division) inMathematics.The datacollection techniques used tests and observations. From the results of dataobtained from the observation of learning implementation , teacher activity incycle I obtained 75 percent and for student activity obtained 71 percent andaverage of the learning outcomes obtained in the first cycle is 69.5. In the secondcycle of teacher activity increased become 78 percent and for student activity alsoincreased become 76 percent whereas for the average student learning outcomesincreased become 78.24.From the results of research can be concluded theimplementation of learning was good and the result of students’ learning increasedafter using the model of cooperative learning type STAD (Student TeamsAchievement Division) on Mathematics subjects especially prime numbers todetermine FPB and KPK in 5th Grade of SDN 065014 Namo Gajah Medan.
