Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the causality relationship between government investment and economic growth in Palembang during the  city period of 1994-2005. The data used in this study are secondary data.  To analyse the data, Granger Causality Test which was formulated in a simple regression equation used.  The research result shows that  two  directions causality relationship between government investment and economic growth during  that period. It can be seen from the coefficients result of two regressions which  are not zero (bj ≠ 0 and dj ≠ 0) and the F statistic tests  are bigger than the F table  (20,799 > 6,26 and 10,788 > 6,26). Keywords : Government investment, Economic growth, Granger Causality.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the demand for money in Indonesia 2010Q1-2017Q4. In this research using the VAR (Vector Auto Regressive) model. This study attempts to predict time series variables and on the dynamic impact of analysis of disturbance factors in each variable and assesses the interrelationships between variables using the program Eviews 9.0. In this study, researchers tried to test Frriedman's theory by focusing on the difference between Indonesian interest rates and US interest rates. The important thing is, this study argues that the differential US dollar interest coefficient from the money demand function can describe financial dollarization in Indonesia. Indonesia is trying to keep capital flows out of other countries, especially the United States by keeping interest rates higher than the United States. This means that the higher interest rate differentials between Indonesia and the United States will make more capital inflow to Indonesia, so will make higher demand for money in Indonesia. The results show that all variables used in this study are stationary at first difference and have the appropriate model in lag 5

Abstract

In approximating factors influencing decision for coming on the market activity there are some characteristic factor influencing it. The factors are wage (earnings), earnings of non labor income, individual characteristic, social environment characteristic, and household chartered investment counsel values. The variables have an effect on in signifikan to decision of individuals work in market activity. Existence of individual characteristic influencing number of hours working respondent from model equation of the regression, there are some characteristics variables having an effect in signifikan and have an effect not signifikan. At this research known that average of earnings of respondent is bigger than household chartered investment values so that, can be said that by woman working in urban in south Sumatera, work rationally element inexistence perforced. From estimation earnings yield is found empirically factors influencing decision for working, have some enough considerations  for women having reasoning of higher educations for taking decision coming on the market activity. The side also, known that existence of trend of friction of decision making which seen from culture working woman, so that, can influence their productivity. Abstract

Environmental degradation is one of the major problems in the world recently and one of the United Nations’ (UN) sustainable development goals (SDGs). Emerging markets countries that have become major players in the global economy and the main source of world economic growth have great potential to contribute the environmental degradation due to increased economic activities. This paper investigates the impact of financial development and economic growth on environmental degradation in Asian emerging markets. A panel environmental degradation model using financial development from banking sector and capital market sector, economic growth, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and urbanization variables that are major determinants of CO2 emission as a proxy of environmental degradation. The periods considered were 1980 – 2018 for banking model, and 1996 – 2018 for financial sector model (banking sector and capital market sector). A panel data approach applied such as cross-section dependence, panel unit root, panel cointegration, Fully Modified OLS (FMOLS) and Dynamic Ordinary Least Square (DOLS). The empirical finding revealed that in Asian emerging markets there is positively long-term relationship between financial development from banking model with environmental degradation. Nevertheless, we do not find any long-term relationship between financial development from financial sector model with environmental degradation. Moreover, the quadratic negative signed for economic growth showed the existence of Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC).

It tries also to elaborate the causes of poverty and poverty alleviation programs implemented by Local Government. Opportunities to alleviate poverty and improve well-being depend on the supporting environment. The ability of poor people should  be harnessed and strengthened. In addition, the Government should create an institutional framework that supports the strategy of self-improvement and sustainable welfare. Local governments, the private sector, and together with the people have a big role to create such opportunities. Local Government is also obliged to control the private sector and enforce legal obligations, environmental, and social order to reduce the negative impact of business practices on the environment, and maximize the benefits for society. Vulnerability also needs to be reduced. This can be done with the use of the function of social safety nets such as free health insurance, free education and food subsidy. To improve the welfare sector in the framework of decentralization include macro and micro perspectives. From the macro side, it takes a synergistic cooperation between central governments, provincial governments including city government and private sector. Abstract

This research is purposed to know the elasticity and intencity of production function and eficiency of the wood engraving industry in Palembang. By using CES production function we can know  the wood engraving industry is more capital intensive and the substitution elasticity is inelatis. And then, based on the production scale we can know that the wood engraving industry is constant return to scale. Keywords: elasticity, intencity, production, eficiciency, industry
