Abstract

This study analyzes factors affecting rice production and consumption in Indonesia from 1990-2014, the data source is from Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The method used is model of multiple linear regression equation with ordinary least square estimator (OLS). Our findings indicate that rice production can be affected by human capital, labor, wages, wetland, urban population, and rice prices; on the other side, technology has no effect on rice production. Other findings on the rice consumption model were influenced by human capital, per capita income, population, and consumption the previous year, and meanwhile, rice prices has no effect to rice consumption in Indonesia. It’s an important note for the government in making the right program policies such as the development of better irrigation systems, empowering the farmers by providing regular training, subsidizing material inputs to farmers, expanding farmland for farmers. Meanwhile, the government needs to create policy such as food diversification, price stabilization security, the increase of rice stock, and other agricultural policies.

Abstract

The industry is the current engine of the Indonesian economy over the past three decades; the economic structure in Indonesia has the transformation from the agriculture sector to the industry sector. The objective of this study is to examine the causality between agricultural, industry, and economic growth in Indonesia. By using the vector error correction model (VECM), this research finds that in the long-term, there is directional causality from the industry added value, economic growth on the agricultural added value. Meanwhile, in the short-term, the variable of industry added value and economic growth has the two-way causality. Besides, the agricultural added value can only affect the industrial added value and economic growth in the short-term. These findings support the idea that the agricultural sector plays a vital role in the economy, such as increasing economic growth and growth in other sectors, especially the industrial sector in this case.JEL Classification: F40, L60, O13, O47

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between the number of tourists, tourism investment, government tourism spending, and economic growth in South Sumatra. It uses Granger causality model and simultaneous equation model to estimate the empirical model. The findings show that the number of tourists, the added value of the tourism sector, and the tourism spending of the tourism sector affect economic growth, while tourism investment does not affect the economic growth. In the second model, this study found that economic growth, tourism added value, tourism, and government tourism spending affect the number of tourists. This study implies that government policy has an important role in encouraging the tourism sector development which is indicated the contribution this sector on economic growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between air pollution, economic growth, and life expectancy in Indonesia. The observation period during 1985-2019 used time-series data obtained from the World Bank. Quantitative approach by applying two main models, namely the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model by considering the effect of time-lapse and Granger causality with vector error correction method. Research findings prove that air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy in the long run. Economic growth has a positive and significant effect on life expectancy. In the short run, the current life expectancy is positively and significantly influenced by the life expectancy of the previous period. Air pollution has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy, and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on life expectancy. Another finding in the Granger causality model is a two-way relationship between air pollution and life expectancy. Other evidence exists of a two-way relationship between economic growth and air pollution. In addition, evidence of a unidirectional relationship of economic growth with life expectancy in the short run. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of financial factors and prestigious to be a career choice Lecturer State Universities in Indonesia. The sample in this study were 100 candidates for the civil service lecturers who do not yet have an academic level spread of Universities in Indonesia. Sampling was done at random (random sampling). The data used is primary data obtained from a questionnaire containing the answer options are arranged with ordinal scale. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis of qualitative and quantitative, further inferential analysis by estimating the multiple linear regression model based on statistical criteria test and test econometric criteria. Statistically, the results suggest that financial factors and prestigious affect positively and significantly to the preference factor, it is evidenced by a probability value of 0.000 is smaller than the critical value (alpha 0.05). Conclusion of the study is the financial factor and prestigious postiif and significant influence on the preference of a person chooses to become professors (educators) at Universities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Beberapa hal pokok dalam ajaran Islam yang diwajibkan untuk dilaksanakan sesegera mungkin, yaitu membayar hutang, menikahkan anak perempuan jika telah memenuhi syarat dan sudah meminta untuk dinikahkan, bertobat atas dosa-dosa yang telah dilakukan, dan yang terakhir menyelenggarakan jenazah bagi sesama muslim. Khusus untuk kewajiban menyelenggarakan jenazah saudaranya yang seiman yang meninggal dunia sampai dengan memakamkan jenazah tersebut agar jangan sampai jenazah tersebut sampai terlantar, sehingga jika hal itu terjadi maka semua orang Islam yang ada disekitar jenazah tersebut akan berdosa. Dalam kenyataannya masyarakat desa Kerinjing Kecamatan Tanjung Raja Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Provinsi Sumatera Selatan mengalami kesulitan dalam mencari penerus untuk melaksanakan penyelenggaraan jenazah, sehingga perlu dilakukannya kaderisasi kepada para remaja di desa ini dengan diadakannya penyuluhan terkait penyelenggaraan jenazah. Metode kegiatan penyuluhan diakukan dengan ceramah, tanya-jawab dan evaluasi Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman para remaja masjid terkait tatacara penyelenggaraan jenazah, sehingga menimbulkan kader-kader baru di lingkungan Desa Kerinjing. Melalui peran serta aktif masyarakat desa terutama para remaja masjid maka diharapkan hasilnya bisa berkontribusi terhadap pembangunan perdesaaan itu sendiri terutama pengembangan SDM Desa ini sendiri.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini termasuk pada kegiatan pada bidang aplikasi iptek dan pengembangan seni budaya lokal yang berfokus pada pemberian materi dengan tema ekonomi islam sesuai pada kebutuhan mitra yaitu SMA IT Bina ilmi yang melibatkan guru dan murid di sekolahan tersebut. Kegiatan ini direncanakan dilakukan di bulan November.

Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 outbreak is a serious problem that threatens the health and must be addressed immediately. People are required to comply with health protocols, one of which is by wearing a mask. The use of masks is an effort to minimize the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. The high demand for masks, especially medical masks, causes scarcity and high prices in the market. As an alternative, a cloth mask is needed that can be used daily for activities for the community during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this community service activity is to socialize the proper and correct use of cloth masks. This service activity also aims to provide training to housewives to make masks independently from cloth that can be used in daily activities. Besides functioning as a prevention for the Covid-19 virus, cloth masks can also be sold as an effort for housewives during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods of activity and implementation are carried out through outreach, training, and mentoring approaches.

Abstract

Koperasi Syariah merupakan bagian dari Lembaga keuangan syariah (LKS) yang berlandaskan prinsip syariah dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dengan berorientasikan keuntungan dan juga falah. Sehingga bukan hanya satu pihak saja yang mendapatkan keuntungan, akan tetapi kedua belah pihak yang bisa merasakan keuntungan, terutama daerah pedesaan yang masih sangat membutuhkan keberadaan koperasi syariah dalam menunjang kehidupan masyarakat. Dalam kenyataannya masyarakat desa Kerinjing Kecamatan Tanjung Raja Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Provinsi Sumatera Selatan masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mencari pinjaman yang berlandaskan syariah, sehingga masyarakat terpaksa meminjam ke rentenir yang menerapkan sistem bunga. Maka itu perlu dilakukan pemahaman kepada masyarakat desa kerinjing terkait karakteristik, prinsip, dan tujuan ekonomi Islam melalui pelaksanaan koperasi syariah.  Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman aparat desa dan masyarakat tentang koperasi syariah dengan melibatkan partisipasi dan kerjasama seluruh aspek masyarakat. Masyarakat desa kerinjing ingin menerapkan dan segera mendirikan koperasi syariah. Melalui peran serta aktif masyarakat desa maupun koperasi syariah yang ada di desa kerinjing maka diharapkan hasilnya bisa berkontribusi terhadap pembangunan perdesaaan itu sendiri.
