Abstract

Objectives. The sports training system plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of athletes by ensuring an efficient and accurate training process. In sports like football and running, players need to acquire different techniques to improve their performance. Factors such as physical, tactical, and mental coordination influence human performance. Good physical condition is essential to achieve optimal performance since players with high performance have better endurance, strength, and concentration. Materials and Methods. This research employs a descriptive survey method to obtain an objective description of a situation. The research process involves collecting data, analyzing it, concluding, and presenting a report. The study focuses on two variables: the body mass index (BMI) and the Bilopa Sinjai FC. Results. The analysis of the body mass percentage data revealed that the BMI test is a reliable and effective tool for evaluating an individual's overall health. This underscores the importance of tracking one's BMI regularly to ensure optimal physical well-being. At Club Bilopa FC Sinjai, the focus is on promoting both physical fitness and mental health. The club recognizes the interconnectedness of these two factors and strives to create an environment that fosters holistic well-being. Conclusions. The achievement of a normal BMI in football players can be attributed to their adherence to healthy dietary habits and regular exercise. Such practices are known to play a vital role in contributing to the overall success of a team. It is therefore recommended that players adopt a lifestyle that promotes these practices in order to maintain a normal BMI.

Abstract

Objectives. Physical education is an educational process that aims to promote the overall development of an individual by making them physically, mentally, and socially fit. It involves various physical activities like running, jumping, and playing sports that contribute to the overall physical fitness of an individual. Along with physical fitness, it also helps in developing mental strength, cognitive abilities, and social skills, which are essential for a healthy and happy life. The research aims to examine the role of physical education in developing ethics, morals, and character in students at SMPN 7 Selayar Islands. It will analyze how physical education can help students inculcate values such as discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, which are essential for a successful and fulfilling life. The study will also explore how physical education can help students develop a positive attitude toward life, which will enable them to cope with challenges and overcome obstacles in their personal and professional lives. Materials and Methods. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with five grade 7 students from Selayar Islands Middle School. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data collection, display, condensation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. Results. Physical education has the potential to shape ethics, morals, and character positively. The various aspects of ethics, morals, and character indicators are well-integrated into the objectives of physical education. There are several elements present in physical education learning that can influence ethics, morals, and character formation. The results of questionnaires filled out by students have confirmed that physical education can shape students' ethics, morals, and character by 80%. Additionally, interviews were conducted to make in-depth observations and directly observe environmental conditions at SMPN 7 Selayar Islands. Conclusions. Physical education has the potential to shape the character of students at SMPN 7 in Selayar Islands. This can be observed from the students' bravery in participating in various sports, such as soccer and volleyball, despite the risk of injury. Despite injuries, students remain enthusiastic about physical education learning, and hobbies. This indicates that most students enjoy physical education and it has a positive impact on their character development.

Abstract

Objective. The performance of athletes in sports is influenced by various factors such as their profile, anthropometry, training, equipment, management, nutrition, and the environment. This research aims to determine the potential impact of anthropometry on winning medals in the PON qualifying rounds for major sports. The primary goal is to understand the significance of anthropometry in achieving success in these sporting events. Materials and methods. This study utilizes a quantitative descriptive method with a survey research approach. The research focuses on 11 sports branches registered with the provincial KONI, comprising a total of 70 outstanding athletes. The variables studied and data collection techniques include height, weight, leg length, and arm length. The study findings indicated that one sports branch did not win any medals at the BK PON, while six sports branches did receive medals. Only 33 out of the 70 participating athletes managed to secure medals. Results. The athletes' performance at BK PON did not meet expectations, largely due to a range of individual factors. It became evident that meticulous planning was required for each athlete's training and competition experience. Areas requiring improvement included technical flexibility, tactical prowess, creativity in competition, as well as mental and emotional adjustments. Conclusion. The study gathered anthropometric data from seven different sports. Interestingly, one of these sports did not produce any medal winners. Even among the top six sports, athletes with ideal anthropometry were unable to secure medals. This is likely due to a combination of individual factors. It is essential to carefully plan each athlete's training and competitive experience, improve technical flexibility, tactics, and creativity in competition, as well as train for mental and emotional adjustments.

Abstract

Objectives. The primary objective of this study is to assess the level of explosive power and leg strength among the athletes who have undergone training under the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPCI) in the West Kalimantan Province. The research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the physical abilities of these athletes, with a particular focus on their lower body strength and explosive power. Materials and Methods. In this particular study, a total of 26 male and female athletes were selected, who were being coached by NPCI West Kalimantan. These selected individuals were then subjected to leg explosive power testing, while 27 of them underwent leg strength testing. To ensure the accuracy of the results, a quantitative descriptive research method was employed. The researchers utilized two different data collection techniques, including Standing Long Jump and Back and Leg Dynamometer tests, which allowed them to accurately measure and evaluate the physical abilities of the athletes. Results. According to the findings of a recent study, the explosive leg strength ability of 26 male and female disabled athletes has been evaluated, and the results indicate that the average value of such ability is categorized as Poor. Similarly, the study also evaluated the leg strength ability of 27 male and female disabled athletes, and the average value of this ability was found to be in the Poor category as well. These results suggest that there is significant room for improvement in terms of developing leg strength among disabled athletes. Conclusions. Sports organizations, coaches, and athletes can benefit significantly by knowing the explosive power and leg strength of an athlete. This information can serve as a valuable benchmark and evaluation material to assess an athlete's physical abilities and identify areas where they need improvement. Additionally, such knowledge can help in designing training programs that focus on specific areas of an athlete's body that require strengthening. This approach is especially valuable in the case of athletes with disabilities, as it can help them improve their sports performance and achieve their full potential. By incorporating data on explosive power and leg strength in their training plans, coaches and sports organizations can help athletes with disabilities enhance their skills, overcome limitations, and achieve their athletic goals.

Abstract

Objective. By identifying appropriate methods for changing behavior, social cognitive theory can help individuals and organizations achieve their goals and improve outcomes. According to social cognitive theory, individuals learn through a process of observation, imitation, and reinforcement. They observe others performing certain behaviors and then imitate those behaviors based on their perceptions and interpretations of the situation. Reinforcement, both positive and negative, can then influence the likelihood of those behaviors being repeated in the future. Importantly, social cognitive theory also acknowledges the role of personal agency in behavior change. Individuals can make conscious decisions about their behavior and take action to change it. Material and Method. This study is a literature review based on the field of social psychology. It outlines how motivational processes play a significant role in influencing both children and adults. Motivational processes refer to the goals that motivate individuals, their expectations for achieving those goals, and the values that drive them to achieve them. The motivation to learn is closely related to the principle that behavior that has been positively reinforced in the past is more likely to be repeated than behavior that has not been reinforced or has been punished. Result. Motivation plays a crucial role in the learning process. According to motivational theory, motivation is the driving force that creates a level of persistence and enthusiasm in carrying out an activity. This motivation can originate from within the individual (intrinsic motivation) or from external sources (extrinsic motivation). Intrinsic motivation comes from the individual's internal desires and interests, such as a genuine interest in a subject, a desire to learn new skills, or a sense of accomplishment. Extrinsic motivation, on the other hand, comes from external factors such as rewards, praise, or recognition. By understanding and harnessing both types of motivation, learners can maintain their interest and enthusiasm throughout the learning process, leading to greater success and achievement. Conclusion. This sentence refers to the importance of having a good learning facilitator who motivates students to actively participate in the learning process to achieve academic success. In other words, a skilled and effective teacher can be compared to a proficient driver who guides students toward their learning goals by encouraging them to engage with the subject matter actively and thoughtfully. This approach can help students to develop a deeper understanding of the material and to become more invested in their learning, leading to greater academic achievement and personal growth
