Abstract

This study aims to determine the type and frequency of staple food consumption before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and to analyze the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the type and frequency of staple food consumption in urban farming households. The research location was chosen because it is one of the areas exposed to the Covid-19 pandemic, consists of various ethnic groups, produces and consumes multiple types of staple food, and includes urban areas. The sample in the study amounted to 80 respondents who were selected by the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, and McNemar test. The results showed that both before and during the pandemic, rice was the staple food that was very dominantly consumed by farmers' households, followed by sago and cassava with much less frequency. The existence of local food is only as a complementary staple food. The type of staple food and the frequency of consumption before and during the pandemic did not change significantly. Considering the availability of local food and the dominant consumption of rice, efforts to diversify staple food consumption need to be encouraged by considering accessibility and aspects of its use so that it can be more accepted by the community, including the millennial generation.

Abstract

Since Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning villages, the Indonesian government has disbursed substantial funds directly to villages. One of the objectives of allocating these funds is to establish a village-owned enterprise (Bumdes). This study aims to evaluate these institutions. To assess the performance of the Bumdes, criteria, indicators, and verifiers were used following the regulations of the Minister for underdeveloped regions and transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 4 of 2015. Research carried out in 2019. Eighteen Bumdes were selected in 18 sub-districts as samples from the 113 Bumdes formed in the Konawe district. This study aims to see to what extent the existence of Bumdes has been able to contribute to improving the village economy. Respondents in this study were Bumdes stakeholders, starting from the district level (head of the Village Community Development Agency, Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency, and Head of Development), head of sub-districts, village heads, Bumdes Managements, and Community Leaders. The results showed that most of the Bumdes had not been able to properly compile business plans due to their administrators’ low human resource capacity. As a result, Bumdes capital is not developed and depends on only the allocation of village funds. The existence of Bumdes has not provided a real contribution to the increase in economic activity and village development as envisaged

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is gradually becoming normal, evidenced by the government's loosening policy to carry out offline activities. Educational, social, and economic activities have been going well. This study aims to determine the efficiency of broiler marketing in Kendari City. The approach used in this research is quantitative. The research was carried out in June 2022 in five Kendari City consumer centers (markets: Baruga, Anduonohu, Mandonga Central, Kendari Lama City Central, and Lawata). The data used are primary data from interviews with respondents and statistical data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency in secondary data and supported by literature studies. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results showed that the business scale of broiler breeders in Kendari City started from 3,000 - 10,500 heads in one livestock period. Marketing of broilers in Kendari City is through two marketing channels, marketing channel I from small traders in the market to final consumers and marketing channel II from producers to wholesalers in the market to final consumers. The analysis results show that the marketing of broiler products in Kendari City is running efficiently, each of which is indicated by the value of FS = 91% in marketing channel I and FS value = 74% in marketing channel II. The total profit earned by traders in the marketing channel I am Rp. 1,800,870.83/month, which is smaller than the profit earned by traders in marketing channel II, which is Rp. 37,422,631,80/month. Consumer responses to the price level (Rp24,666.30/kg – Rp32,188.00/kg) broilers in the Kendari City market are cheap and satisfied with the frequency of consumer shopping once and every day for the last month.

Abstract

This research purports to assign the marketing mix's effect on price, promotion, product, and place on consumer decisions in purchasing Nichoa products in Central Java. This study is causal-comparative research. The study location was chosen by purposive method with the reasoning that the average expenditure per capita of the population of Central Java in the food and beverage category has increased during the last three years. The research was conducted from February to March 2022. The latent variables in this research are product, place, price, promotion, and purchasing decisions. The total sample is 120 respondents by purposive sampling technique. An analysis method used is SEM-Partial Least Square (PLS). The output represents a positive impact on purchasing decisions and a significant effect on the product, place, and price variables on consumer decisions in purchasing Nichola products. However, there is an insignificant impact on the promotion variable, but it has a positive value on consumer decisions in purchasing Nichoa products. This point that Nichoa must pay attention to the marketing mix carried out, in terms of product, price, promotion, and place aspects, to be able to answer consumer needs so that it can influence consumers to buy Nichoa products more than once.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation is one type of aquaculture in the field of fisheries that has the opportunity to be developed in Indonesian waters. Efforts to increase fishery production can be achieved through aquaculture on land and at sea. Seaweed is one of the sources of accelerated growth in the agricultural sector due to the elastic nature of its demand for income. The rate of population growth accompanied by an increase in revenue and the development of industrial centers are potential factors for increasing demand for seaweed products. Through many requests for seaweed products from the company, seaweed farming communities work hard to produce large harvests. Through many requests for seaweed products from the company, seaweed farming communities work hard to make large harvests. This study aims to determine the effect of village fund allocation assistance on the income of seaweed farmers (whether aid is right on target or not). Respondents used a simple random sampling method to select the sample of seaweed farmers. The sample in this study was 31 seaweed farmers. The results in this study indicate that the Village Fund Allocation Assistance shows a positive influence at a level of 0.05 on the income of seaweed farmers. The regression coefficient for Village Fund Allocation assistance is 1.452, with a significance level of 0.000. Where the significance value is smaller than the real level (0.05), the Village Fund Allocation assistance significantly influences the income of seaweed farmers in Langere Village, Bonegunu District, North Buton Regency
