Abstract

Technological developments have brought apple commodities into business commodities that can improve the well-being of the actors involved, as well as highly selective apple plants, can only grow well and well in certain areas of East Java, such as Batu and Nongkojajar. Data analysis method using Quantitative Descriptive analysis to know the level of financial feasibility of business, calculated by analysis of Acceptance and Cost (B / C ratio), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), and Payback Period (PP). As for the marketing aspect using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on research conducted in Bumiaji Village, Bumiaji Subdistrict of Malang City, that cultivation of apple is feasible to be cultivated with NPV of Rp. 471,825,898, - using the current bank interest of 12%, and also for Gross B / C ratio of 2.4633, Net B / C ratio of 4.6088, while IRR of 34.43%. As for the refund cost incurred taken from the amount of Net Benefit in the 4th year until the 13th year that is Rp. 1.129.796.500. so that in the 14th to the 26th year there is a net profit of a total of Rp 1,270,351,050, -.

Abstract

Serang beach is one of the beaches in Blitar Regency. Visits to Serang Beach attractions are influenced by various factors. In this study the factors studied to determine the influence of visiting interest to Serang Beach is promotional factors, economic factors, factors of infrastructure and psychological factors. Sampling in this research is by accidental sampling method, in which the researcher has the freedom to choose who the consumer is met to be sampled, with the number of respondents as many as 100 people. Data analysis was done by using multiple linier regression analysis method, data processing was done by SPSS Statistics 16 for Windows program. The result of the research shows that promotion factor, economic factor, facility factor and psychological factors significantly (together) have an influence on the interest of visiting Serang Beach, and psychological factor is the most dominant factor influencing the interest to visit Serang Beach tourism object.

Abstract

Rice cultivation often face obstacles, and one of them is bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). The application of endophytic bacteria is one of solutions to overcome this problem. Endophytic bacteria are non-pathogenic bacteria, which live in plant tissues. These bacteria could be isolated from the plant tissues. They may adapt to the plant tissues and produce antibiosis that could increase the plant resistance. Therefore, objectives of the research were to isolate the endophytic bacteria from healthy plant tissues and to identify them through morphology, physiology, biochemistry, and molecular. Method of the research was explorative along with three principal activities, such as isolation, selection, and identification on the potential endophytic bacteria. The isolation of the endophytic bacteria from healthy rice tissues has resulted 53 isolates and five of them have antagonistic ability in vitro against Xoo. Isolate ak9 has the highest antagonistic ability, 7.67 mm, in comparison with other isolates. Results of identification showed that those five potential bacteria have close relations, such as da3 with Bacillus cereus, isolate ak9 with Burkholderia sp., isolate ak30 with Enterobacter sp and isolate da9, as well as ak15 are Corynebacterium sp.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the participation of women farmers in the formation of Kampung Kucai through Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), as well as identifying gender roles and assessing the extent of women's contribution to household income through home gardening optimization for farming activities in Kampung Kucai. the location of the research is purposive in Kampung Kucai, Dusun Kranggan, Pojok Village, Blitar Regency. The study was conducted from March to April 2018. The sampling method used in this study was snowball sampling. The number of respondents in the study were 20 respondents, both husband and wife who were actively involved in Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) in Kampung Kucai. In addition there are 5 Key Informants. Data analysis used descriptive analysis using qualitative and quantitative approach. Based on the data analysis it can be seen that the participation of women in the formation of the village of kucai in the form of cultivation of kucai, promoting, until the sustainable management. The identification of gender roles in the management of cucumber farming in the yard is analyzed by differentiating roles / activities, differences of control (power) and access (opportunities), and benefits between men and women. Then for the time allocation of men in the role of production shows greater than women. Men allocate production roles for 10 hours / day or 66.7%. While women allocate production role for 5 hours / day or 33,3%. So that each contribution in household net income each month is Rp. 460,230, - for men and Rp. 229.770, - for women. While the allocation of female reproductive role is bigger than men with value respectively 50% and 14,5%.

Abstract

Landuse change are suspected to be one responsible to soil fertility decline on Resapombo, Doko, Blitar. Efforts done by local farmers to deal with these problems are plantation of P. falcataria trough a reforestation program around 2011-2012. The benefits of the program are still need to be assessed so that this research was done (1) to compare the soil quality between P. falcataria-planted field and no P.falcataria field by the parameters of soil organic matter content and available N, (2) to study the relationship between organic matter input and soil organic matter content and available N, and (3) to identify factors affecting N availability post-P. falcatariaplantation. This research used randomized block design with 5 treatments (annual crop field, 3 and 6 years P. falcaria plantation field, agroforestry field with P. falcataria + coffee + talas plantation, and ex-P. falcataria-planted field. Soil were sampled compositely by 3 replication from 0-20 cm depth. Litter were sampled from a 0.5m2 sub-plot of each treatment. Results showed that P. falcataria plantations enhance soil fertility indicated by increased soil organic matter input to 10.6 times (monoculture) and 17.6 times (agroforestry) control, increased soil organic matter content by 1.5 times (monoculture) and 2.3 times(agroforestry) control, increased total N of 1.6 times (monoculture) and 2.4 times (agroforestry) control, increased ammonium by 1.7 times (monoculture) and 3.2 times (agroforestry) control, and increased nitrate by 2.4 times (monoculture) and 3.9 times(agroforestry) control. The increased soil N content of P. falcataria-planted field were caused by higher soil organic inputs compared to those with no P. falcataria plantation. Nitrogen availability affected by soil texture but have no relationship with soil pH. However, agroforestry fields showed higher pH, organic C, total N, and available N than monoculture P. falcataria fields. Measured soil chemical properties showed no significant change by the increase of P. falcataria age, moreover, they declined down towards control on ex-P. falcatariaplantation. This indicates that reforestation would only give a temporary soil quality enhancement.
