Abstract

Begonia is one of the world's largest genera of flowering plants that spread in various tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. However, deforestation, overexploitation, climate change, and pathogen-causing diseases have threatened the diversity of begonia. Diseases on begonia need to be handled seriously because the level of spread and damage can result in the death of the plant. Thus, this study was conducted to identify the main pathogens causing diseases in the begonia which is expected to be basic information in determining the effective control treatment. As a result, begonia collections of Eka Karya Bali Botanic Garden were mainly infected by three pathogenic fungi (Fusarium spp., Oidium begoniae, and Botrytis cinerea) and one bacterium (Xanthomonas begoniae).

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture is promoting the Sustainable Food Program (P2L) which aims to meet people's needs for food and nutritional consumption patterns as well as ways to maximize empty land which can be used as an opportunity for conservation (Annonimous, 2021). Another aim is to increase community awareness and family knowledge about the processing and care of food plants, fruit and vegetables for cultivation, encourage the growth of seeds or plants so that their sustainability is maintained and increase the community's productive income by supplying and utilizing empty land in their respective home gardens. In the field, it is still difficult to implement P2L in the target group, namely the Women Farmers Group in the city of Blitar. For this reason, outreach and coaching activities are needed so that group understanding and awareness can increase enthusiasm in implementing it, so that it will increase the availability, accessibility and use of their yards as a source of food as well as collecting cash. Community organizations are involved in this organization. By utilizing the yard, the community is encouraged to grow food crops, vegetables, fruit, medicinal plants, tuber plants as an alternative for food diversification as part of the P2L program. More than that, the P2L program is an agricultural business in or around the city that utilizes knowledge, experience and creativity to cultivate and process food for the community by utilizing empty land and yards to contribute to nutrition, improve the local community's economy and improve welfare (Aini , 2015). P2L activities are carried out using sustainable agricultural development methods, utilization of local resources (local wisdom), community empowerment (community engagement), and marketing focus strategies to achieve these goals (go to market). The implementation is planting various plants through nursery work, demonstration plots, planting, post-harvest work and commercialization. (Musdalifah et al., 2023) The activity was carried out using a lecture method explaining the legality of P2L implementation, implementation, implementation procedures to 20 KWTs in the Blitar City Area by the proposer of Unisba Blitar Internal PKM 2024.

Abstract

Gogodeso Village consists of settlements, moorland, people's plantations, rice fields with a village area of 383 Ha. In general, livelihoods are identified into several sectors, namely agriculture (mostly), services/trade, industry and others. One of the farmer empowerment programs is the Tani Makmur Jaya Self-Help Agricultural and Rural Training Center (P4S). In its activities, P4S consistently and routinely develops organic farming, one of which is making organic fertilizer and carrying out healthy cultivation practices.   However, they experienced problems with production, management and human resources and marketing. The implementation methods used are: (1) Planning (2) Administrative preparation and team coordination (3) Socialization of Organic Fertilizer (4) Training in Making Organic Fertilizer (5) Management and marketing training (6) Mentoring (7) Supervising related production activities and post-production (8) Evaluation (9) Program sustainability. Community-based empowerment activities in increasing the capacity of AgroEcofarm-based businesses at P4S Tani Makmur Jaya can run smoothly, including the transfer of organic fertilizer technology, transfer of business management and human resources and transfer of marketing branding. In making fertilizer, production can be increased by 2000 bottles of POC/year and 2000 sacks/year of solid organic fertilizer respectively. Apart from that, there are new brands for P4S fertilizer, namely POC Orchomi and Biokosh for solid organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Eggplant is a horticultural crop that is very important for society. One effort to increase production is by providing soil, manure and NPK fertilizer. This research aims to determine the effect of planting media and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) variety Mustang F1. This research was conducted in Krajan Hamlet, Kebonsari Village, Kademangan District, Blitar Regency, East Java Province in February-April 2023. The research was prepared using (RAK) factorial with two factors, namely the composition of the planting media (M) and the dose of NPK fertilizer (D). Each treatment had 3 repetitions. Observations will be carried out after 10 days after planting, with an observation interval of 20 days, the observation parameters include plant height, stem base diameter, fruit diameter, and fruit weight. The research results showed that the combination treatment between the composition of the planting media and the dose of NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on plant height, stem base diameter, fruit diameter and fruit weight.

Abstract

Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) is a member of the Cucurbitaceae group that is of interest to the public because it has high economic value. However, there are obstacles to cultivation, one way to overcome them is by using nano technology fertilizer and planting media. The aim of this research was to find out the interaction between doses of nanote chnology compound fertilizer and planting media on the growth and yield of zucchini plants (Cucurbita pepo L.). The research method used was a Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors. First factor: concentration of compound fertilizer with nano technology (P) which consists of 4 levels, namely: P0: control (without application of nano technology fertilizer) P1: concentration of nano fertilizer 5 ml/L P2: concentration of nano fertilizer 10 ml/L P3: concentration of fertilizer nano 15 ml/L Second factor: the composition of the planting medium which consists of 3 levels, namely: M1: Husk charcoal: cocopeat: vermicompost (1:1:1) M2: Husk charcoal: cocopeat: vermicompost (1:1:2) M3: Husk charcoal: cocopeat: vermicompost (1:1:3) Variables observed were plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), flowering time (DAT), fruit diameter (cm), fruit weight (grams) and fruit length (cm ). From the research results it can be concluded that there is a real interaction in the treatment of nano fertilizer and planting media. The best combination was seen in the application of 10 ml/L nano fertilizer and husk charcoal planting media: cocopeat : vermicompost (1:1:3) (P2M3), at a plant height of 18.96 cm, stem diameter of 1.169, fruit weight of 630 grams, fruit length 43.50 cm and fruit diameter 75.66 cm.

Abstract

Komoditas bawang merah sangat dibutuhkan masyarakat di Indonesia. Bawang merah umumnya digunakan untuk konsumsi dan sebagian untuk benih. Benih yang digunakan untuk perbanyakan bawang merah berasal dari umbi. Umbi diperoleh dari hasil panen sebelumnya yang mana umbi mudah mengalami perubahan mutu. Umumnya umbi mengalami penyusutan bobot, perubahan volatile, umbi busuk karena mengadung kadar air yang tinggi serta akumulasi payogen dari induk diturunkan setiap generasi. Perubahan mutu umbi tersebut menjadi penyebab menurunnya produktivitas benih umbi bawang merah. Salah satu cara untuk mendapatkan bahan tanam dengan mutu terjamin dan bebas penyakit yakni dengan Teknik budidaya kultur jaringan. Inovasi dalam penambahan nutrisi media tanam kultur jaringan dengan menggunakan spirulina sp. Mikroalga spirulina sp. Ini memiliki kandungan auksin, vitamin B, niasin yang dapat membantu pertumbuhan eksplan bawang merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan konsentrasi pemberian nutrisi spirulina sp. yang tepat untuk pertumbuhan eksplan bawang merah. Eksplan bawang merah diberi 3 perlakuan yakni spirulina sp. 5g/l , spirulina sp. 10g/l dan kontrol, diulang sebanyak 5 ulangan, dianalisis menggunakan RAL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi nutrisi spirulina sp. terbaik sebanyak 5g/l. Eksplan bawang merah mampu menghasilkan jumlah tunas sebnyak 7 helai, tinggi tunas 8cm, jumlah akar 9 helai dan Panjang akar 2 cm.

Abstract

Organic fertilization involves natural materials derived from the remnants of organisms such as animal deposits, animal remains, or deceased plant matter. The primary focus of this research is to observe the impact of Kasgot organic fertilizer usage on the overall growth and harvest yield of Pakcoy mustard greens, as well as to discover the superior method of applying Kasgot organic fertilizer to optimize its effect on the growth and yield of Pakcoy mustard greens. The experimental design employed in this study is a randomized group method. Conducted in Tawangsari, a location within the Garum District, Blitar Regency, the findings of this research indicate that the application rate of Kasgot organic fertilizer significantly affects the growth and yield of Pakcoy mustard greens. The most effective dosage variant reached a leaf area of 50.3075 cm², a plant height of 18.175 cm, the optimal leaf count at 14.75, and an average fresh plant weight of 47.75 grams.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan dosis pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat varietas Servo (Lycopersicum esculentum). Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari hingga April 2023 di desa Resapombo yang terletak 685 mdpl dan curah hujan cukup tinggi, berkisar antara 401 hingga 500 mm. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 2 faktor yang diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Faktor pertama adalah pemberian pupuk organik (P) dengan 2 taraf, faktor kedua adalah: Dosis pupuk organik (F) meliputi 3 taraf yaitu 50g/bag (F1), 100g/bag (F2) dan 150g/bag (F3). Peubah yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah buah pertanaman dan berat buah. Data dianalisis dengan 5n-level analysis of variance (ANOVA), dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi yang nyata antara pengaruh pupuk organik (P) dan dosis pupuk organik (F) terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tomat (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). Kombinasi perlakuan pupuk kandang kambing organik takaran 100 gram per polibag (P1F2) merupakan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik ditinjau dari pengamatan vegetatif yaitu tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang bervariasi pada semua umur (14, 28, 42 dan 56). HST). Dengan memperhatikan variasi jumlah buah dan bobot buah pohon, hasil pemupukan kombinasi terbaik adalah kombinasi pupuk organik kotoran kambing dengan dosis 100 gram/kantong (P1F2). The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the type and dose of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of Servo variety tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum). The first factor is the provision of organic fertilizer (P) with 2 levels, the second factor is: The dose of organic fertilizer (F) includes 3 levels, namely 50g/bag (F1), 100g/bag (F2) and 150g/bag (F3). Variables observed included plant height, stem diameter, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight. Data were analyzed with 5n-level analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the DMRT test. The research results showed that there was a real interaction between the effect of organic fertilizer (P) and the dose of organic fertilizer (F) on the growth and yield of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). The treatment combination of organic goat manure at a rate of 100 grams per polybag (P1F2) was the best treatment combination in terms of vegetative observations, namely plant height and stem diameter varied at all ages (14, 28, 42 and 56). By paying attention to variations in the number of fruit and fruit weight of the tree, the best combined fertilization results are a combination of organic goat manure fertilizer at a dose of 100 grams/bag (P1F2).

Abstract

Kyuri (Cucumis sativus L) plants have good economic value and are very much needed for health. In its cultivation, good media and pruning are needed to stimulate the growth of new productive branches which are very much needed in increasing production. This study aims to compare the filter cake planting media and pruning techniques to increase the growth and yield of kyuri cucumber plants. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, repeated three times. M1: filter cake and kettle ash (BK), M2 filter cake and rice husk charcoal (BS), M3 Soil, rice husk charcoal and manure (TSK), and M4: Soil and Cocopeat and Manure (TCK). Factor 2: Pruning System, where P1 without pruning, P2 prunes the shoots on the main stem and the shoots of three lateral branches (PP3L), and P3 prunes the shoots on the main stem and the shoots of five lateral branches (PP5L). The variables measured include plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, number of fruits, fruit weight, and fruit length. Data analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a significance level of 5%. If the ANOVA results show a significant difference, further testing is carried out using the Duncan test with a level of 5%. The best treatment combination is M2P2, namely the use of filter cake planting media: rice husk charcoal 5: 2 and pruning the main stem and three lateral branches which can produce an average plant height of 166.2 cm, Stem Diameter 12.1 mm, Number of Leaves 22.3, Number of Fruits 7.1, Fruit Weight 337.3 kg, Fruit Length 28.4

Abstract

Rice cultivation often face obstacles, and one of them is bacterial leaf blight (BLB) disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). The application of endophytic bacteria is one of solutions to overcome this problem. Endophytic bacteria are non-pathogenic bacteria, which live in plant tissues. These bacteria could be isolated from the plant tissues. They may adapt to the plant tissues and produce antibiosis that could increase the plant resistance. Therefore, objectives of the research were to isolate the endophytic bacteria from healthy plant tissues and to identify them through morphology, physiology, biochemistry, and molecular. Method of the research was explorative along with three principal activities, such as isolation, selection, and identification on the potential endophytic bacteria. The isolation of the endophytic bacteria from healthy rice tissues has resulted 53 isolates and five of them have antagonistic ability in vitro against Xoo. Isolate ak9 has the highest antagonistic ability, 7.67 mm, in comparison with other isolates. Results of identification showed that those five potential bacteria have close relations, such as da3 with Bacillus cereus, isolate ak9 with Burkholderia sp., isolate ak30 with Enterobacter sp and isolate da9, as well as ak15 are Corynebacterium sp.
