Abstract

Sanitation is an effort to control factors of physical environment that may have impacts onhumans especially those having destructive effects toward physical, health and survival. A market is a placeof gathering and meeting between people to carry out their interactiion and business with each other. Thusit needs to be equipped with sanitary facilities and guidelines on the implementation of the principles ofhealthy market designated in the Health Ministerial Decree NO.519/MENKES/SKjVI/2008.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the environment, building and sanitation facility inBangkal animal market at Sumenep in 2014. This study is a descriptive study using cross sectionalapproach. Data colletion was done through observation, measurements, interviews and use ofquestionnaires. Results of this study showed that there were 3 variables which did not comply to the standardrequirements. They were: wastewater disposal with percentage of 50%, hygienic behavior of the tradersand visitors with 0% percentage, and provision of first aid box with 0% percentage. It is suggested that the sanitation facilities in Bangkal animal market Sumenep must beimmproved toward the guidelines of the operation of healthy market set forth in the Health MinisterialDecree NO.519/MENKES/SK/Vl/2008.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMosquitoes are type of insect that acts as a disease vector. One of them is Culex sp mosquitos which their existence is many around us. In Indonesia there are still a lot of disease cases that caused by Culex sp mosquitos, one of them is filariasis disease. The efforts to control thecurrent population of Culex sp mosquitoes mostly use chemical insecticides. The control becomes difficult because of the resistance to chemical insecticides and adversely affects the environment. This study aims to determine the potential of jackfruit leaf extract as biolarvasida against Culex sp. The type of this study was post test onlycontrolled group design, using 625 larvae Culex sp instar III, divided into 5 groups (negative control group, 0.25% extract, 0.50% extract, 0.75% extract, extract and 1% extract). Observation was performed 24 hoursafter the treatment and counted the number of larvae death. The data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test followed by Post Hoc Mann-Whitney U test to determine the killing power of leafy leaf extractusing Probit analysis. The results of data analysis in this study were thedeath rate percentage of larvae after 24 hours treatment was 0% incontrol, 44% in 0.25%extract, 52% in0.50% extract, 60% in 0.75%extract,while in the extract group of 1%, the number of larval deaths was 72%. Itobtained results with significant differencein some treatment groups thatwere concentrations of 0.25% - 1%. Probit analysis showed that LC50 wasat 0.382% concentration. From results of the studyit can be concluded that jackfruit leaf extract(Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk) was potential as Culex sp mosquitobiolarvacide. So it is necessary to conduct further research on the effectsof compounds that contained in other plant parts such as flowers, stemsand roots which will be expected to have a function asbiolarvasida. Keywords: Leaf Jackfruit, Biolarvasida, Mosquito Culex sp

Abstract

Porters' main activities involve manual work of hauling material s, dominated by a lifting - carryingactivities Manual Material Handling. Porters operate not in accordance with the rules of good manual work, tend to ignore various aspects of health and safety. Non ergonomical working attitude remains to be afactor that may lead to incidence of low back pains (LBP). Other factors that also contribute to LBPareworkloads, hauling frequency, frequency of breaks and work proportions. The purpose of this study was toillustrate porters' work attitude and their complaints of low back pain at Ngronggo market in Kediri. This was a descriptive study, data were gathered through observations, interviews and measurements ofpain using Nordic Body Map. The population under study was as many as 30 workers operating inNgronggo Market Kediri. From the results of the study in Ngronggo Market Kediri the study discovered that complains of back painwere as many as 26 people ( 86.7 % ). It seemedthat workers implemented the principles regarding bodyposition in the lifting and transporting of goods, but nevertheless complaints of low back pain, and pain injoints still occur. The study recommended that regular schedule of working hours should be made, to avoid overload andcontrol work duration, workers should wear protective girdles at work, and observe proper work attitude.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which spreads through droplet nuclei. Pulmonary tuberculosis can cause death if it is not treated, so efforts need to be made to eradicate pulmonary tuberculosis. One of the effort to eradicate some cases of pulmonary tuberculosis is to improve health behavior by preventing bad behavior. Behavior is the implementation of knowledge, attitudes and actions. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship of preventive behavior to the incidence of positive BTA pulmonary. This study uses a simple random sampling method with a case control study approach. The population was random patients with positive BTA pulmonary TBC as a case of 59 respondents and neighbors of patients who did not suffer from pulmonary TBC as a control 59 respondents with a total of 118 respondents. Data collection is done by interviewing with questionnaires. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.006 0.05) with the incidence of Positive AFB Tuberculosis. There was no relationship between attitudes (p-value = 0.580 0.05) with the incidence of Positive BTA Tuberculosis. There is a relationship between precautionary measures (p-value = 0.001 0.05) on the incidence of Positive BTA Tuberculosis in the Work Area of Manukan Kulon Health Center. It was concluded that there was no between attitudes towards the incidence of Positive BTA, but there was a relationship between knowledge and preventive measures for the incidence of Positive BTA Tuberculosis. It is recommended to health service providers who have built Pulmonary TBC cadres to increase pulmonary TBC eradication activities to reduce the number of Lung Tuberculosis cases in the Manukan Kulon Health Center Work Area by visiting each BTA patient and their neighbors and providing incentive health education about Lung TBC. Keywords: Lung Tuberculosis (TBC), Preventive Behavior
