Abstract

This study analyses the marketing structure of livestock commodities and formulates strategies to strengthen livestock marketing institutions in Riung Subdistrict. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, supported by primary field observations and secondary data comprising livestock potential records, regional statistics, and scientific literature. The analysis covered commodity mapping, marketing-channel identification, institutional diagnosis, and descriptive comparison between primary observations and secondary data. The findings indicate that pigs and goats function as sources of household liquidity, whereas buffaloes, horses, and cattle serve as high-value assets. However, marketing remains individual, dependent on collectors, and insufficiently supported by formal markets and local economic institutions. The study concludes that village marketing units, commodity clusters, price information, collective sales, quality standardisation, and partnerships with regular buyers are needed to improve farmers' bargaining position.

Abstract

The storage of sulphur material in open storage areas requires control of the pile’s slope to ensure stability and operational safety. This study aims to analyse the Natural Angle of Repose (AOR), evaluate the suitability of the actual slope, identify factors affecting the slope angle, and assess the stability of sulphur material piles at PT. PKG. The study employed a descriptive quantitative method by measuring the height and base radius of the stockpile; the slope angle was then calculated using the equation θ = arctan(h/r) and analysed via linear regression. The results showed that the natural angle of repose ranged from 37.80° to 40.89°, with an average of 39.29°. Linear regression indicated that pile height, particle size, and moisture content increased the angle of repose, while the base radius decreased it. Based on the stability classification, four samples were classified as less stable and two samples as unstable. This study concludes that the stability of sulphur material stockpiles is influenced by stockpile dimensions and material characteristics. The results of this study can serve as a basis for controlling the slope angle of stockpiles to minimise the risk of landslides in open storage areas.

Abstract

The income of traditional market traders is influenced by various business-related factors that play an important role in determining the sustainability and growth of their businesses. This study aimed to analyze the effects of business duration, business capital, and working hours on the income of cayenne pepper traders at Ungaran Traditional Market, Kutowinangun District, Kebumen Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all cayenne pepper traders at Ungaran Traditional Market, totaling 20 traders, all of whom were selected as research respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 25. The partial test results indicated that business duration had a significant effect on income (p = 0.006), but the effect was negative. Business capital had a positive and significant effect on income with a significance value of 0.000. Meanwhile, working hours did not have a significant effect on income, as indicated by a significance value of 0.833. The simultaneous test results showed that business duration, business capital, and working hours jointly had a significant effect on traders' income with a significance value of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.760 indicated that 76.0% of the variation in traders' income was explained by business duration, business capital, and working hours, while the remaining 24.0% was attributable to other factors outside the research model. Therefore, business capital was identified as the most dominant factor affecting the income of cayenne pepper traders at Ungaran Traditional Market, Kutowinangun District, Kebumen Regency

Abstract

Urban traffic growth increases operational pressure on signalized intersections, particularly in areas serving commercial, office, educational, and residential activities. This study evaluates capacity, operational performance, and critical approaches at the Patung Kirab signalized intersection in Kupang City based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines 2023 (PKJI 2023). The novelty of this study lies in integrating aggregate intersection performance evaluation with approach-based flow distribution analysis and capacity-improvement sensitivity scenarios to determine operational treatment priorities for a medium-sized city in Eastern Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied through classified traffic-volume surveys, geometric observations, signal-timing observations, and side-friction observations over three days: Sunday 9 November 2025, Monday 10 November 2025, and Tuesday 11 November 2025. Surveys were conducted during three periods, namely 06:00–08:00, 12:00–14:00, and 18:00–20:00 WIT, and the analysis hour was selected based on the highest traffic volume for each observation day. The results show that the intersection capacities on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday were 3,734.08, 3,645.51, and 3,589.57 skr/hour, respectively. The corresponding degrees of saturation were 0.739, 1.139, and 0.936, while the average delays were 4.125, 29.220, and 16.604 seconds/skr. Monday was oversaturated, whereas Tuesday operated in a critical range. The southern approach was dominant on Sunday and Monday, contributing 40.71% and 40.66% of total traffic flow, whereas the western approach was dominant on Tuesday, contributing 41.75%. The sensitivity analysis indicates that a 10% capacity increase would only reduce Monday's degree of saturation to 1.035, while Tuesday would decrease close to the planning threshold at 0.851. These findings indicate that initial treatments should prioritize green-time optimization for the southern and western approaches, side-friction control, and queue observation during peak hours

Abstract

The stability of gypsum stockpile slopes is critical to ensuring occupational safety, operational continuity, and the security of industrial facilities. The stability of gypsum stockpiles is governed by the slope geometry and the geotechnical properties of the material, particularly its unit weight, cohesion, and internal friction angle. This study aims to evaluate the stability of a gypsum stockpile slope at PT X's storage area using the Fellenius method (Ordinary Method of Slices). A quantitative approach was employed through field measurements of slope geometry and the collection of geotechnical parameters from the company's technical data. The analysis was performed under drained conditions by assuming a circular slip surface and neglecting interslice forces in accordance with the fundamental assumptions of the Fellenius method. The potential sliding mass was divided into seven vertical slices to determine the ratio between resisting and driving forces, from which the Factor of Safety (FoS) was calculated. The analysis yielded a Factor of Safety of 1.98, indicating that the gypsum stockpile slope is stable and meets the accepted slope-stability criteria. The results demonstrate that the combination of slope geometry and the shear strength parameters of the gypsum material provides sufficient resistance to overcome the driving forces acting along the potential failure surface. This study contributes to the application of the manual Fellenius method for evaluating the stability of gypsum stockpiles under drained conditions and provides a preliminary reference for assessing the slope stability of gypsum stockpiles in industrial environments, as well as for future studies employing other limit equilibrium methods.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of arm muscle strength training on the overhead serve ability of female students participating in volleyball extracurricular activities at SMK Ma'arif 5 Gombong, motivated by the students' poor overhead serve quality resulting from insufficient arm muscle strength and a training method that had remained monotonous and had not specifically addressed biomotor strengthening. This study employed a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 15 female students selected through purposive sampling based on the criteria of active participation in training, freedom from injury, and willingness to complete the entire series of tests. The subjects underwent a progressive arm muscle strength training program for four weeks (12 sessions), beginning with wall push-ups and knee push-ups and advancing to full push-ups combined with dumbbell exercises and medicine ball throws, in accordance with the principle of progressive overload. Overhead serve ability was measured using an adapted test instrument covering five assessment aspects, namely initial stance, arm swing, ball contact, direction and accuracy, and consistency, with a maximum score of 100. The data were analyzed through prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity), followed by a paired sample t-test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the mean overhead serve score increased significantly from 55.00 at pretest to 67.47 at posttest, with every subject showing improvement without exception. The greatest gains occurred in the initial stance and direction-and-accuracy aspects, while the ball contact aspect showed the smallest improvement, as it was more strongly influenced by coordination and accumulated technical practice. It can therefore be concluded that a programmed, progressive arm muscle strength training regimen is effective in improving the overhead serve ability of female volleyball extracurricular students, although ideally it should be combined with technical training to achieve more optimal results

Abstract

The underhand passing skill in volleyball is influenced by various components of physical fitness, one of which is arm muscle strength. This study aimed to determine the relationship between arm muscle strength and underhand passing ability among fifth-grade male students at SD Sains Nusantara. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The participants consisted of all 15 male students in the fifth grade of SD Sains Nusantara. The research instruments included the independent variable (X), namely arm muscle strength, measured using a 30-second push-up test, and the dependent variable (Y), namely underhand passing ability, measured using a 60-second wall volley test. The results showed that the average arm muscle strength was 19.33 repetitions (64.44%), while the average underhand passing score was 25.00 points (83.33%). The findings also indicated a positive relationship between arm muscle strength and underhand passing ability, as students with greater arm muscle strength tended to achieve higher underhand passing scores. It can therefore be concluded that arm muscle strength is associated with underhand passing ability among fifth-grade male students at SD Sains Nusantara, suggesting that improving arm muscle strength may contribute to better underhand passing performance

Abstract

Soil permeability is one of the key geotechnical parameters that describes the ability of soil to transmit water through its pore spaces. In reservoir construction, soil permeability significantly influences seepage, which may affect water storage efficiency and the stability of the reservoir embankment. This study aimed to determine the soil permeability coefficient of the Gedang Kulut Reservoir embankment and to analyze its permeability characteristics as a parameter for evaluating the suitability of the embankment material. A quantitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach was employed. Undisturbed soil samples were collected from a single sampling point, followed by five permeability tests using the Constant Head Test method based on Darcy’s Law. In addition, particle-size distribution analysis was conducted using sieve analysis to support soil characterization. The results showed that the permeability coefficients obtained from the five tests were 0.00043, 0.00034, 0.00025, 0.00039, and 0.00031 cm/s, respectively, with an average value of 0.000344 cm/s (3.44 × 10⁻⁶ m/s). Based on the soil permeability classification, the soil was categorized as having low permeability, indicating a relatively low capacity to transmit water. These findings suggest that, in terms of permeability, the soil at the study site is suitable for use as embankment material for the reservoir. Nevertheless, a comprehensive evaluation of material suitability requires further assessment of other geotechnical parameters
