Abstract

One of the most common discomforts experienced in the first trimester is nausea and vomiting or emesis gravidarum. This condition generally occurs due to increased levels of the hormones human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), estrogen, and progesterone which affect the gastrointestinal system and the vomiting center in the brain. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Lemon Aroma Therapy on Emesis Gravidarum at the Singosari Malang Community Health Center. The research design was a Pre Experiment with one group pretest posttest with control group research. The population in this study were all pregnant women at the Singosari Community Health Center who were pregnant in the first trimester. The sample in this study was 20 pregnant women in the first trimester of pregnancy aged 1-12 weeks using purposive sampling. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi square test. The results of the study showed a Chi square test (p value = 0.000). The conclusion of this study shows that there is an Effect of Lemon Aroma Therapy on Emesis Gravidarum at the Singosari Malang Community Health Center. It is recommended that pregnant women gain additional knowledge about Lemon Aroma Therapy for Emesis Gravidarum by seeking information from both print and electronic media.

Abstract

Adolescence is a significant phase of individual development characterized by increased social and emotional drives, thus encouraging risky behavior (juvenile delinquency), including free sex, illegal abortion, and substance abuse. Therefore, health education is needed as an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency. One of the health education that can be applied is peer group education. Peer group education is an educational method that involves peers as facilitators to increase knowledge and shape positive behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of peer group education on increasing knowledge of adolescent girls about preventing juvenile delinquency at SMK Kartika IV-1 Malang City. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach without a control group. The sample in this study were all 30 female students of grade X of the Beauty Department of SMK Kartika IV-1 Malang City. The instrument used was a multiple-choice questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge about preventing juvenile delinquency before and after the peer group education method was implemented. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and obtained a p-value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that the p-value is smaller than α, namely (0.000 <α), so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of peer group education on increasing the knowledge of adolescent girls regarding the prevention of juvenile delinquency. Thus, this method can be recommended as an effective preventive education strategy among school adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescents (10–19 years) are a vulnerable group to sexual and reproductive health problems, including risky sexual behavior, unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV/AIDS. Limited sexual communication between parents and adolescents—due to cultural barriers, feelings of embarrassment, and parents' lack of knowledge—may increase these risks. This literature review aims to analyze the relationship between parent–adolescent communication and adolescents' sexual and reproductive health. The method used was a literature review by searching articles published between 2022 and 2026 in Google Scholar and PubMed using keywords related to adolescents, parental communication, and reproductive health, resulting in 10 articles analyzed narratively. The findings show that parent–adolescent communication about Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) remains low in several studies (<40–50%); However, open and effective communication is associated with improved adolescent knowledge and reduced risky sexual behavior. In conclusion, parental communication plays an important protective role in promoting adolescents' sexual and reproductive health, highlighting the need to improve parents' SRH education and communication skills.

Abstract

Puberty is an important phase in adolescent development characterized by physical, psychological and social changes. Lack of understanding about pubertal changes can trigger anxiety and risky behavior. Puberty education is a strategic step in equipping adolescents with accurate information about reproductive health and body changes. This study aims to analyze the effect of puberty education on improving adolescents' knowledge and attitudes through the literature review method from various international and national studies in 2021-2025. The results of the analysis show that technology-based, interactive, and empowerment-based educational approaches are able to increase understanding and shape positive attitudes of adolescents towards puberty. In addition, family support and adaptation to adolescents' special needs also play an important role in the success of education. Innovations in learning methods, such as the use of mobile applications and Health Belief Model-based approaches, proved effective in improving pubertal health behaviors. These findings emphasize the importance of developing more inclusive and evidence-based puberty education policies to support adolescent well-being.

Abstract

Personal hygiene is an effort made to maintain a person's cleanliness and health, both physically and mentally. Common physical problems include poor personal hygiene, which can increase the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs). During menstruation, blood and sweat from the body can stick to the vulva, making it wet. If a woman does not pay attention to hygiene at this time, humid conditions can occur. Fungi and bacteria grow in the genital area, causing itching and infection. This literature review was conducted to determine the description of adolescent personal hygiene during menstruation. The method used in making this literature review is the reference search method through Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Sinta with the keywords personal hygiene, adolescents, and menstruation and menstrual health management. Articles that provide information about Personal Hygiene. Articles selected based on full text, open access, in English and Indonesian published in the last 5 years (2021 - 2025). The results of the literature review show that there is a significant correlation between knowledge about reproductive health and adolescent personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. The study found that many adolescent girls do not know much about their reproductive health, which potentially increases the risk of infection and other health problems. Conclusion: Menstrual hygiene or personal hygiene in adolescents is still poor, so correct information is needed so that adolescents can practice good personal hygiene during menstruation
