Abstract

Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) and electronic health records (EHRs) are computer systems designed to assist decision-makers in making optimal and streamlined judgments on disease diagnosis, treatment, patient care, and health institution management. This study conducted descriptive and bibliometric evaluations of CDSS integrated with EHRs studies published in journals included in the Scopus database from 2007 to 2024. During the initial phase, the publications were distributed based on their publication year, nation, institution, journal, and citation numbers, as part of a descriptive analysis. During the second stage, the articles were subjected to bibliometric analysis, which involved doing common keyword analyses. The research yielded 409 papers about CDSS and EHRs. The United States has been identified as the country with the highest number of studies on this issue. The journal with the highest number of citations observed was Studies in Health Technology and Informatics. Furthermore, the text showcases visual representations of co-citations and cooperation between authors from different institutions and countries. This study aims to present a systematic framework for examining CDSS with EHRs to improve diagnosis and offer a comprehensive viewpoint to researchers and specialists in the field.

Abstract

Nanotechnology finds immense potential due to the unique characteristics of nanomaterials. Though noble metal nanoparticles, particularly gold and silver nanoparticles possess advanced properties their conventional production methods pose environmental hazards. This paper explores the eco-friendly approaches using natural sources for synthesizing gold and silver nanoparticles. Rose and pomegranate extracts were used to synthesize gold nanoparticles. Evaluation using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy confirmed the nanoparticle formation, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis recognized the presence of plant-derived compounds for stabilizing these particles. In-depth observations of their size and form were provided using electron microscopy, and these findings were aligned with the inferences made from the UV-Vis data. Silver nanoparticles were produced using Ocimum gratissimum leaf extract (OGE), exhibiting dose-dependent antimicrobial effects against bacterial strains. A comparative analysis demonstrated the distinct antibacterial characteristics of silver and gold nanoparticles against several bacterial strains. These nanoparticles demonstrated enhanced inhibitory effects when employed in combination with antibiotics, suggesting the possibility of dealing with antibiotic resistance. The study presents opportunities for producing nanomaterials with minimal impact on the environment and for addressing antibiotic resistance. Further research can enhance the process and find more useful applications as this green synthesis approach can bring about significant improvements in many areas.

Abstract

The study has been conducted on the water quality level of the Babak River around Kebon Kongok landfill, Lombok. This research was conducted considering that water has many benefits in the daily lives of people. This research uses an experimental method by analyzing physical parameters (temperature, conductivity, pH, and total dissolved solids (TDS)), and chemical parameters in the form of heavy metal content lead (Pb), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and copper (Cu)). Analysis results were compared with quality standards based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017 concerning water quality. Based on the study, it was found that the farther the distance of water measured from the source of pollution, the value of the physical and chemical parameters of water will be smaller. Most of the physical parameter test results show the Babak River water quality is still at the safe threshold limit but there is 1 point of river water that is polluted due to the distance that is too close to the active zone. Chemical parameters show the results of heavy metal content below the threshold limit. Analysis of the water quality shows that the water is still in good condition, which is below the threshold set by the Indonesian government.

Abstract

This paper presents a cascaded h-bridge (CHB) multilevel inverter (MLI) based MLI based distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM). The main objective of this paper is to reduce source current harmonics in the distribution system by using a cascade H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHBMLI) as DSTATCOM with a proportional-integral (PI) controller. The PI controller compensates reactive power, reduces source current harmonics, and maintains the unity power factor in the distribution system. The conventional two-level inverter-based DSTATCOM has many disadvantages such as high total harmonic distortion (THD), and high switching stress power semi-conductor devices, suitable for only low-power applications. This paper to overcome these drawbacks by using MLI-based DSTATCOM. The proposed system simulations are verified in MATLAB/Simulink software. The verified results are source current, load current, and compensating current.

Abstract

The use of a research approach in legal research will determine the results. There are three categories of approaches in legal research. The normative approach is the most widely used. This research aims to examine how the approach should be implemented in legal research. This research uses a conceptual approach which is still within the scope of the normative approach. Research data was collected by searching articles published in 23 law journals. The results of this research show that the approach to legal research is the use of perspective in discussing legal issues. There are three legal research approaches, namely normative, empirical, and philosophical approaches with all their variants. The normative approach reviews legal problems from a positive law perspective. The empirical approach examines legal problems as a cultural reality. A philosophical approach examines legal problems from an ideal perspective. The approach to legal research should be applied according to the type of research, research data, and level of research. The normative approach is the most widely used. This is because law is mostly understood as a set of rules. Sequentially, of the 256 articles studied, 70% of legal research used a “normative approach”, 19% empirical, and 11% philosophical.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a data collection system for measuring soil electrical conductivity (EC) in Paddy Fields using the Wenner measurement principle, with one electrode configuration based on the Veris 3100 measuring machine, and a second electrode configuration with fixed electrodes. The result is a system that measures soil EC using the fixed electrode configuration for more stable results compared to the coulter electrode configuration on the Veris 3100. This system comprises three main components: a 7-inch industrial touchscreen monitor used for real-time monitoring and storing collected data on external memory, a controller that provides reverse direct current (DC) power supply to the electrodes and measures voltage and current parameters on the electrodes, two mechanical configurations including six electrodes in contact with the soil. The system is developed to operate best after soil preparation and before seed sowing. The collected data is processed and compared to actual measurements using an artificial neural network (ANN), resulting in an R2=0.7449, equivalent to linear regression. The system has been successfully installed and operated on a handheld tractor and tested in Paddy Fields on the outskirts of Can Tho City, Vietnam.

Abstract

In this paper, we proposed a cost-effective software method to prevent counterfeiting where we used a website, quick-response (QR) code, and hashing. At the early stage of the product, the system will create a unique ID and a password with a random password generator for all products. Then, the password hash would be stored along with the ID in the database. At the same time, the password would be converted into a QR code for each product. The manufacturer will collect the QR code and ID and attach them to the product. When consumers attempt to verify the product, they will enter the website provided by the manufacturer and scan the QR code. After applying the same hash used before, the code will be checked on the database. After a successful check, the product entity will be destroyed and the life of the product ends. This paper contains flowcharts, figures, cost estimation, and a detailed explanation of the system. As it only requires domain hosting, thus the fixed cost of the system is so lower to bear for small enterprises also. We built a similar system using PHP, HTML, JavaScript for websites, and MYSQL for databases.

Abstract

The current work aims to simulate the operation of the electric motor in one of the most important industrial applications, which is printers, by adopting stepper motors (SM). The performance of the motor is also improved by adopting traditional control systems and adjusting them using the gray wolf optimization (GWO) advanced algorithm. It works to adjust the parameters of a conventional controller. Simulation to reach an appropriate design with high performance, which is obtained by adopting the integral time absolute error (ITAE) function to get rid of the error for transient cases. Transfer function was adopted to represent the engine and two methods of control were used, traditional and advanced optimization. Results demonstrated the possibility of improving performance by adopting both methods with a clear superiority of advanced optimization. Response of SM without controller for close loop shows the values of each rising time equal 130.440 ms, overshoot equal 0.505%, and undershoot equal 1.077%. Response of SM for close loop with proportional-integral-derivative controllers (PIDC) shows the parameters, performance, and robustness of PIDC also the values of overshoot=9.16%, settling time=0.406, and rise time=0.0628 s. Results were developed by using GWO-PID over the previous cases by reducing values of overshoot to zero, rise time, and settling time to 0.00145 and 0.0027 respectively.

Abstract

By utilizing variational autoencoder (VAE) architectures in musical instrument digital interface (MIDI)-based generative neural networks (GNNs), this study explores the field of creative music composition. The study evaluates the success of VAEs in generating musical compositions that exhibit both structural integrity and a resemblance to authentic music. Despite achieving convergence in the latent space, the degree of convergence falls slightly short of initial expectations. This prompts an exploration of contributing factors, with a particular focus on the influence of training data variation. The study acknowledges the optimal performance of VAEs when exposed to diverse training data, emphasizing the importance of sufficient intermediate data between extreme ends. The intricacies of latent space dimensions also come under scrutiny, with challenges arising in creating a smaller latent space due to the complexities of representing data in N dimensions. The neural network tends to position data further apart, and incorporating additional information necessitates exponentially more data. Despite the suboptimal parameters employed in the creation and training process, the study concludes that they are sufficient to yield commendable results, showcasing the promising potential of MIDI-based GNNs with VAEs in pushing the boundaries of innovative music composition.

Abstract

Association rule-market basket analysis (AR-MBA) is a data mining technique for finding distinguished relationship patterns from a collection of items. The application of AR-MBA is also increasingly widespread, starting from retail and hotels to hospitals. So, bibliometrics related to AR-MBA needs to be done to reveal what research opportunities can be later carried out by reviewing and analyzing publications about AR-MBA. 91 bibliographies in 1 decade from 2012-2022 were collected using Harzing's Publish or Perish (PoP). VOSviewer is also employed to map authorship and publication topic trends. This paper is innovative because it identifies trends and future research directions in data mining, specifically in association with AR-MBA. The findings show publication productivity, top authors, types of publications, annual topic trends within a decade, term distribution, most cited and most influential articles, and research gaps that can be opportunities for further research.
