Abstract

Domestic violence is a case of violence that is increasing in Jakarta. Impact of domestic violence can cause deep trauma, but victims are also required to survive and have good resilience in order to continue positive life. To achieve the resilience and positive life, the victims must have a good Psychological well-being. One of the supporting predictors on resilience is Psychological well-being and religiosity. The Psychological well-being has important role to increase self resilience, and religiosity has a role related to Psychological well-being to increase resilience. This research aims to find out the role of religiosity and psychological well-being to Resiliencen women who struggle in domestic violence. Research method was based correlation design.We used Religiosityscale by Glock and Stark and RPWB (Ryff's Psychological Well-being) and Resilient Question scale by Reivich and Shatte.Population in this research was victim of domestic violence and sample was 62 women who was victim of domestic violence based on purposive sampling methods.The Analysis test result used regression that R-squared = 0,11 (p > 0,05) for religousity and resilence. R-squared 0.59 (p>0.05) for PWB and resilence. It means there is significant contribution of religiosity and Psychological well-being to resilience on women who were victims of domestic violence.This result are expected that government and domestic violence institution can practically improve the religiosity and Psychological well being of victims of domestic violanceto increase resilience.

Abstract

This research aimed to find the correlation between problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping with subjective well-being among oncology nurses at the Dharmais Cancer Hospital Jakarta. The subjects in this study amounted to 204 people were oncology nurse at Dharmais Cancer Hospital Jakarta. The type of research is a correlation quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling technique which is purposive sampling. The instrument of this research used to Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), and Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ). The result of this research shows that problem-focused coping and subjective well-being had a positive correlation. Then, emotion-focused coping and subjective well-being had a positive correlation. The most coping strategies used among oncology nurse is problem-focused coping.

Abstract

The poor and emerging adults groups are vulnerable to psychological distress. This study aims to examine the relationship between optimism and psychological distress among poor emerging adults in DKI Jakarta. Optimism was measured by the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) and psychological distress measured by Hopkins Symptoms Checklist-25 (HSCL-25). The participants in this study were 261 with age range of 18-29 years old, consisting of 92 (35,2%) man and 169 (64,8%) women. With Pearson Correlation analysis, it was found that optimism had a significant relationship with psychological distress (r(259) = -0,161, p = 0,009, two-tailed) and r2 = 0,026.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the effectiveness of mother-child interaction training in promoting child’s compliance during toddlerhood. Pair of mother and child aged from 14 to 36 months old and live in poor were involved as research subjects. The design of this study is one-group pretest-posttest design. The training was conducted for eight times within 15 days. The data collection was conducted before and after the training by recording activities into video format to be observed later. Mother-child interaction quality is assessed using Parenting Interactions with Children: Checklist of Observation Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO), whilst compliance is assessed using Child Compliance Coding Manual: “Do” Context. Significance test using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test shows that there is a significant improvement in the score of mother-child interaction quality after the training conduct (p < 0,05), whilst child compliance shows improvement after the training conduct although not significantly (p > 0,05). The observation is explained in the results to see the changing of mother’s behaviour during the interaction and child compliance.

Abstract

This study examines the role of hardiness on burnout in Indoensian national police investigators. 142 Indonesian national police investigators age 25-40 years old were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Occupational Hardiness Questionnaire. Both of the measuring instruments were valid with a reliability of 0.70-0.75. The research method was a non-experimental, quantitative method. All data were analyzed using correlational technique which showed that individuals with higher hardiness score tends to have low burnout score. The results indicated that hardiness has a contribution of 67.3% to burnout, while the rest was contributed by other factors. Therefore, hardiness is one of the personalities that must be possessed by Indonesian national police investigators.

Abstract

This study aimed to look at the relationship between religiosity and subjective well-being (consisting of life satisfaction, positive emotions and negative emotions) in the elderly in Jakarta (N = 73). The measurement of religiosity in this study use an adaptation of the Religiosity Scale (Diduca & Joseph, 2007), while to measure life satisfaction, and the level of positive and negative emotions using The Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985) and Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scale (Watson, Clark, & Tellegan, 1988). The results showed there was a relationship between life satisfaction and positive emotions with religiosity (r = 0.423, p <0.05, r = 0.234, p <0.05), but religiosity did not have a significant relationship with negative emotions (r = 0.048, p> 0.05). The results also found that as age increases, the relationship between religiosity and subjective well-being strengthens.
