Abstract

The research title "The Implementation of Buzz Group Discussion learning method to improve student physics learning outcomes" aims to improve physics learning outcomes in second semester of  Informatics Education students on material quantities and measurements. This type of research is a quantitative type of experiment, with a population of Informatics Education students, the research subject are semester 2 of Informatics Education taking 46 students consisting of 2 classes there are 2A and 2B. The results of the study experienced an increase in student physics learning outcomes with class averages of 76.25 and 75.65, previously at 72.45 and 70.35 of the average value had increased by 20%. The application of the discussion method of group buzz learning not only affects student learning outcomes but also motivation and interest in learning increases because in this method teamwork is highly prioritized, causing other group members to be active and courageous in expressing opinions when taking responsibility for answers in front of the class . The use of this method can reduce the problems that exist especially in learning physics on material quantities and measurements.

Abstract

There’s been research aimed at finding out the effects of age on the large absorbed dose of X-ray radiation received by the patient’s thorax examination. The observation data used to figure out the absorbed dose received by the patient is exposure factor consisting of tube voltage (kV), current (A), time (s), and distance (m) of patient from radiation source. The age range of patient obtained in this research is from 17 years until 48 years old, then it’s grouped by the age category set by Depkes. From the observation data of exposure factor and patients age, further do the test   using Oneway Anova statistical method test, by taking a significance level of a 0,05. The results from Oneway Anova statistic test is obtained FCalculate value is 1,532 amd sig is 0,211 with FTable value is 2,70 and sig is 0,05 therefore based on test criteria in statistic the early hypothesis (H0) is accepted. Presumably that the age is not affect on the large absorbed dose X-ray radiation received by the patient thorax eximination of range 17 years until 48 years old.

Abstract

CT Scan for head data for children have been processed by using a software name IndoseCT. CT Scan usually use for diagnose part of human body, but CT Scan for head is the most. Data processing was carried out with the IndoseCT software to obtain effective dose values. The highest effective dose value with contrast and non contrast received by 1 until 5 years old patients. Examination with contrast has an effective dose value of 1.29 mSv and for non contrast examination has an effective dose value od 1.16 mSv, meanwhile the lowest effective dose for examination with contrast received by 0 until 1 years old patients with value of 0.94 mSv and for non contrast examination of 0.9 mSv received by 16 until 18 years old patient.

Abstract

Indonesia is located at the meeting point of three active tectonic plates. The consequence is the country is very prone to earthquake disaster, one of the most devastated events is Lombok earthquake occurred on 5 August 2018. The aim of this study is to estimated ending time of aftershock using Omori, Mogi I, Mogi II, and Utsu method. Based on the result of Mogi I and Utsu method which has the correlation coefficient closest to -1 it is predicted that aftershock will stop on 96th weeks after the mainshock. By calculating the time data obtained, it is predicted that the aftershock will stop on the first week of June 2020.

Abstract

This PkM program aims to improve: (1) teacher skills in designing and developing KIT of Natural Sciences practicum tools, Practical tools, laboratory management SOP as well as integrated science materials with the potential of the surrounding environment. The method used in achieving these objectives is the implementation of inservice in the form of training and assistance. The training carried out is a training to develop the skills and creativity of science teachers in the production / design of an integrated natural science practicum device based on the environment and training to design learning using a scientific approach that utilizes the KIT of science that has been produced. Assistance is also carried out related to improving the ability of teachers to explore, elaborate and reflect on integrated science teaching materials. The output of this activity is in the form of KIT of integrated environment-based practicum tools equipped with SOP for the management of practicum with environmental conditions; Integrated practicum tools in integrated science learning (RPP, LKS, teacher's guide) to support scientific approach learning; Integrated science laboratory management SOP; Refresher teaching materials integrated science materials; Scientific article (national publication). The results of the activities that have been achieved include, increased understanding and skills of natural science teachers in the Jerowaru SMPN 1 Natural Science teacher group on integrated science material, increasing teachers' understanding of learning with an inquiry approach, increasing the skills of science teachers designing / making KIT Simple science made from raw materials from the surrounding environment to support science learning using the inquiry discovery approach (scientific approach), increasing the ability of science teachers to design learning tools with the inquiry inquiry approach (scientific approach), training the skills and abilities of science teachers in partner schools in implementing science learning with inquiry discovery (scientific approach) approach.

Abstract

This research aimed at improving critical thinking ability of the fourth  semester students in mechanics course of physics education at  Universitas Hamzanwadi. Method applied was  problem based learning through lesson study activity which covered open class four cycle. Media used was cut of papers contained  formula or mathematics equation which were called Cards of the formula, the cards were given in every open class activity. The data of critical thinking ability taken from critical thinking test administered by the end o, pices of f lecturing activity. Qualitative data taken from obseravtion result during the lecturing. From the activity, it was found that students’ critical ability in every element namely giving argument ability , formulating problem,  doing induction, and by doing deduction, average scores above 3 was got which were categorized into high and medium.

Abstract

In this study, research was conducted on the analysis of Cu concentrations in mangrove plants (Rhizophora.sp) using the Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometry (AAS) method in the Gilimanuk Jembrana port area of Bali. The research was conducted on June 23, 2019 until July 28, 2019 in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. The method used is Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS), a principle that is based on the process of absorption of energy by atoms that are at the level of basic energy (groundstate). The sample used is in the form of root stems and leaves of mangroves that are cleaned and destroyed in advance, because AAS can only analyze the material in the form of liquid. The results of the analysis with AAS are the Cd metal content at Gilimanuk port has exceeded the threshold of the quality standard that is in accordance with sea water quality standards according to Environmental Decree Number: KEP-MEN LH No.51 / Men KLH / 2004 Cd threshold for tourism marine is 0,002 ppm and for biota is 0,001 ppm, while mangrove is included in marine tourism with a threshold of 0,002 ppm.

Abstract

Alternative Science kits are made for science learning innovations in elementary schools. This Natural Science Kit is made using materials from the surrounding environment and is very easy to get. This Natural Science Kit can be an option if in a school does not have Kit from the factory (INPRES Kit and SEQIP Kit) so there is no reason for teachers not to teach varied. There are several benefits to be gained by making and implementing this alternative Science Kit in learning in schools, namely: (1) Teaching and learning activities will be more meaningful if they involve all the senses. By seeing, hearing, feeling, observing and experiencing or practicing on their own, students will experience internalization of the concept of learning science in depth, (2) It will be more fun and impressive for students if the tools in this Kit are packaged by the teacher in the form of a game, and a healthy competition atmosphere to move forward together, (3) science experiments designed using this kit are expected to develop and train students' scientific attitudes and discover science concepts such as: the process of volcanic eruptions, the formation of igneous rocks, simple submarines, water flow, simple calorimeters, simple stopan lights, wind power plants, hydrostatic pressure, and others. This Alternative Science Kit also comes with a user manual that contains: Class / Semester, Indicators, Learning Objectives, Suggestions for application in learning, Tools and materials, Procedures, Questions and Explanation.  The response of teachers and students towards the implementation of science learning with alternative kits is strongly agree, namely 80.02% and  76,25 %

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The feasibility of ICT-based Physics History textbooks according to material experts, (2) The feasibility of ICT-based Physics History textbooks according to media experts. The research method used is R&D with reference to the 4-D model (four D model). The 4-D model consists of the define, design, development and disseminate stages. The development of ICT-based Physics History textbooks is the development of textbooks that help students in building information (knowledge) in understanding concepts through ICT in e-books in Physics History courses delivered. This is in accordance with KKNI curriculum planning, where the implementation of learning in the classroom is carried out with the Scientific Approach approach which includes observing, questioning, experimenting, associating (discussion), and networking (presentation). The results of the study are as follows: (1) ICT-Based Physics History Teaching books that have been validated by material experts with appropriate performance with an average value of 78, (2) ICT-Based Physics History Teaching books that have been validated by media experts with expertise suitable for use with an average rating of 80.

Abstract

The earthquake was the most common natural disaster in Indonesia, one ofwhich was the Province of Bali. The southern part of Bali is a meeting area of two earth plates (subduction zones) between the Eurasian and Indo-Australian plates and in the northern region there is a back arc thrust fracture which results in earthquake frequencies in the Bali area. One of the parameters that is very instrumental in determining the level of damage to land and buildings that occur on the surface of the earth due to earthquake shocks is the acceleration  of the soil. A research has been conducted which aims to find out the empirical equation of land acceleration for Bali in the 2008-2016 period, namely by determining the empirical equation of land acceleration (PGA) conducted  using magnitude parameters, hypocenter distance and PGA (observation) values in 2008-2016 with coordinates 70-120 LS and 1130-1180 BT. Through the regression analysis approach, to obtain the empirical equation of land acceleration in the Bali region  is  ð‘™ð‘œð‘”10(𝑃𝐺𝐴)  =  (−1,89)  𝑙𝑜𝑔10(𝑅) +  (0,71) 𝑚𝑏 + 1,18. Then several approaches and correlation analysis are performed to see the compatibility of the new empirical equation with the existing one.
