Abstract

This aim of this study was determine the effect of different crude protein in the ration on performance KUB chicken finisher period.  This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 8 replications, each replication consisted of 4 chickens (unsex) 9 weeks old with 9,33% diversity coefficient.  The study was conducted for 4 weeks in July 2017--August 2017 at the cage of B Field Integrated Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The treatment given in this study was diet with crude protein content R0: 14,13%, R1: 11,30% and R2: 8,38% with 8 replication, each replication consisted of 4 chickens.  The variables observed were ration consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion, and income over feed cost.  The results showed that ration with different crude protein content were influential not significantly (P> 0,05) to ration consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion, and income over feed cost of KUB chicken finisher period. Keywords: Performance, Chicken KUB, period finisher, ration, crude protein.

Abstract

The aim of research  to know the effect of cutting age on moisture, ash, and crude fat of Indigofera zollingeriana.  The study was done based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications.  The treatments in this study were : 1) U40 (40 days of cutting age), 2) U50 (50 days of cutting age), and 3) U60 (60 days of cutting age).  Indigofera zollingeriana being cuts for the first time at 1 m height from the ground surface and plots of land measuring 3 x 3 m2 and is harvested at a different age.  The results showed that the effect of cutting age significantly (P < 0.01) affect moisture, ash, and crude fat of Indigofera zollingeriana.  Moisture content of Indigofera zollingeriana with cutting age of 40, 50, and 60 days  were 82,37%, 81,28 %, and 77,54% respectively.  Ash content of Indigofera zollingeriana with cutting age of 40, 50, and 60 days  were 9,72%, 10,51%, and 11,57% respectively.  Crude fat content of Indigofera zollingeriana with cutting age of 40, 50, and 60 days were 6,85%, 7,51%, and 10,86% respectively. Key word :  Indigofera zollingeriana, cutting age, moisture, ash, and crude fat.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bilimbi fruit liquid (Avverhoa Blimbli L)  towards physical quality broiler. This research carried out on March, 2017 housed in the Laboratory Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The material of research used broiler meat from Karang Anyar Farm.This study used analysis descriptive based on frequency with four treatments and five replications, none of blimbi fruit (P0), bilimbi fruit liquid 20% (P1), bilimbi fruit liquid 40% (P2), and bilimbi fruit liquid 60% (P3). The observed variables are color, flavor, smell, and taste of broiler meat. Data obtained by descriptive analysis based on receiver of consumen. The result showed that the preferred concentration of bilimbi fruit for the color of raw and cooked meat was 0% and 20%, the most preferred concentration of bilimbi fruit for meat aroma was 20% for raw meat and 40% for cooked meat, meat flavor is most liked 60%. In general the preferred concentration of bilimbi fruit for the color, smell, and taste of raw or cooked meat is 20%. Keywords:broiler, bilimbi fruit liquid (Avverhoa Blimbli L), smell,  flavor.

Abstract

The purpose of the research to determined the effect of soaking beef in various concentration of ginger blend and determined the best concentration of ginger blend on pH, water holding capacity, and cooking loss on beef. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Meat samples obtained from RPH Z-Beef Indonesia. The treatment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications. Treatments are in the form of concentration of ginger blend 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% with immersion time for 50 minutes. The results obtained were analyzed by Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) at the 5% level and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the addition of ginger blend with a concentration of up to 30% did not significantly influenced (P>0.05) on the pH value and water holding capacity, but had a significant effected (P<0.05) on the cooking loss of beef. Keywords: Ginger, Beef, Physic quality.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of: 1) the number of Leucocytes female ducks by L-Lysine and DL-Methionin at different levels; 2) the number of Leucocytes deferensial female ducks by L-Lysine and DL-Methionin at different levels. Examination of the number of Leucocytes and the differential leukocyte conducted in December 2016-January 2017 at the Laboratory Veteriner Region III Office of Bandar Lampung. This study using the completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications. Number of female ducks used as many as 60 birds to 12 the number of plots cages so that each plot contained 5 female ducks. Data were collected at 10% of the number of ducks that exist in each treatment. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance on the real level of 5% or 1% and continued with Duncan test for the value of the variance analysis which showed significantly different results. Treatment of the ration given to the female duck has the content of L-Lysine and DL-Methionin are different so the best rations can be known towards the normal level of Leucocytes and differential leucocyte include lymphocytes, monocytes, heterophile, eosinophils. The result showed that giving rations with the levels of L-Lisyne and DL-Methionin different has not significantly effect (P>0,05) to the number of leucocytes and differential leucocyteKeywords: female ducks, Leucocytes, the differential Leucocytes, L-Lysine,DL-Methionin

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect about gastrointestinal worm infestation on body weight of goat Saburai in Gedong Tataan District Pesawaran Lampung Province. This research was conducted  in August - September 2017.  Testing of Mc Master and Sedimentation Test at Parasitology Laboratory, Lampung Veterinary Center. This study uses 83 goats Saburai Goat found in livestock group Gedong Tataan district Pesawaran  Regency Lampung Province.  The data were made  in tabulation and analyzed by t-test. The results indicate that goat Saburai infestation by gastrointestinal worms in the group of Gedong livestock there are ± 52 positive samples infected with the gastrointestinal worms or 62.7% total  population.  Based on the results identification type gastrointestinal worms are Haemonus sp (50.66%), Strongyloides sp (25.3%), Oeshophagostomum sp (22.9%), Trichostongylus sp (18.1%), Bunostomum sp (7, 3%) moniezia sp (3,6%) Mecistocirrus sp (1,2%). The result of t-test showed that gastrointestinal infestation had significant effect (P <0,01) on body weight goat Saburai with difference body weight 6,39 kg at age ≥ 1 year and 8,10 kg at age <1 year. Keywords: infestation, Saburai goat, body weight

Abstract

This study aims to determined the effect of giving rations with different of  herbs dosages on external quality of crossbred chicken eggs and to find out the best dosage of herbs in ration that affect the external quality of crossbred chicken eggs.  This research was conducted in September 2018 in the poultry house of the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The chickens used were   crossbred chickens between male Lohmann brown and female kampong (3/4 Lohmann brown +1/4 kampong) layer phase aged (48 weeks) as many as 20 chickens.  The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications.  The treatment given are a diet with different dosages of herbs, which are, H0: without herbs, H1: 1g / 1kg, H2: 2g / 1kg, H3: 3g / 1kg.  The data obtained were analyzed by analyze of variance using significant level of 5% and followed by least significant different test.  The variables observed were consumption of calcium and phosphorus, egg weight, and shell thickness.  The results showed that different rations with herbs level had a significant effected (P <0,05) on egg weight and did not significant effected (P> 0,05) on calcium intake, phosphorus intake, and shell thickness. Keywords: Rations, Herbs, External quality of eggs, Crossbred chicken

Abstract

The purpose of study is to know that physical quality of milk from Crossbreed Ettawa goats lactation period I—IV, those were organoleptic test, specific gravity test, and pH test in Sungai Langka Village Gedong Tataan Subdistrict Pesawaran District. This research was conducted method of purposive sampling with goat milk sampling as much as 250 ml on each lactation period I--IV and livestock recording data using questionnaire. Steps in this study begin from sampling through the milking process on each 15 Crossbreed Ettawa goats, followed by organoleptic test, specific gravity test, and pH test. The results of research, showed that quality milk which include organoleptic test in 1st lactation--4th lactation were color (white to yellowish white; white to yellowish white; white to yellowish white; and white yellowish), odor (Unpleasant to savory; Unpleasant to savory; Unpleasant to savory; savory), consistency (thin to slightly thickened; very thin to slightly thickened; thin to slightly thickened; and somewhat lumpy), taste (very bad to awful; very uncomfortable until a little tastier; very bad to awful; and tasty), receptivity (do not like to like; do not like to like; do not like to like; and like). pH test in 1st lactation--4th lactation that is 6,60; 6,59; 6,62; 6,54. Abstract

The aims of research  to know the effect of the different crude protein ration to the performance of KUB chicken.  The research was conducted in July to August 2017 in the poultry cage Integrated Field Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, University of Lampung.  The chicken used in this research were 95 chicken at the age of 4--8 weeks old.  Trial design that used is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 8replications.  Every trial unit consist of 4 KUB chickens.  The treatment is used  the ration with the crude protein of P0 : 15,60%; P1 : 12,81%; P2 : 10,05%.  The data obtained were analyzed using the analysis of variant of 5% level and continued with the BNT test.  The observed variables were the feed consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost.  The results showed that the different crude protein ration was not significant (P>0,05) on feed consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost of KUB chicken grower phase. Keywords: Performance, Kampung Unggul Balitak (KUB) chicken, rations and crude protein.

Abstract

The research held on Candipuro Districk South Lampung Regency in December 2017--January 2018. This research was to know prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths on Balinese cattle.  The research used survey method.  Data collection was done by taking all faecal samples from 80 balinese cattles at 6 villages in Candipuro District.  Faecal samples examination checked with Mc. Master and Sendimentation test at Veterinary Laboratory. Data was analyzed by descriptively.  In result indicated that prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths balinese cattle at Candipuro District South Lampung Regency about 51,25%. The highest prevalence found in Batu Liman village about 82,35% and the lowest prevalence found in Beringin Kencana village about 33,33%. Helmiths species that found in balinese cattle at Candipuro District South Lampung Regency are from Nematode class (Haemanchus sp.,  Oesophagustomum sp.,  dan Strongyloides sp.), Trematode class (Paramphistomum sp.) and Cestode class (Moniezia sp.).  Keywords: Gastrointestinal helminths, Prevalence, Balinese cattle.
