Abstract

The aims of  research to know the effect of cutting age on crude protein and crude fiber of Indigofera zollingeriana.  The study was done based on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications.  The treatments in this study were : 1) U40 (40 days of cutting age), 2) U50 (50 days of cutting age), and 3) U60 (60 days of cutting age).  Indigofera zollingeriana being cuts at 1 m height from the ground surface and plots of land measuring 3 x 3 m2.  The results showed that the effect of cutting age significantly (P < 0.01) affect crude protein and crude fiber of Indigofera zollingeriana.  Crude protein content of Indigofera zollingeriana with cutting age of 40, 50, and 60 days were 24,76%, 26,00% and 27,03% respectively and crude fiber content of Indigofera zollingeriana with cutting age of 40, 50, and 60 days were 20,72%, 23,08%, and 25,41% respectively.  Key word :  Indigofera zollingeriana, cutting age, crude protein and crude fiber.

Survey method were used in this study and purposive sampling were used to determine sample observed. The variables observed were qualitative characters (skin colour, hump, and horn), body measurements (body length (BL), shoulder height (SH), chest circumference (CC)) and body weight (BW). The result of this research indicated that skin colour all of PO cattle observed were white, had jowl, hump, and horn. Skin colour of Limpo cattle were  light brown (60%), and dark brown (40%). All of PO cattle observed (100 %) had jowl, 8.6 % of them had hump, 36% of them had horn, and no horns 64%. The quantitative  characters of PO cattle ( BL 108.73±5.56 cm, SH 108.28 ± 10.60 cm, CC  137.19 ± 5.77 cm, and BW 238.11 ± 24.40 kg) was lower than that of Limpo cattle(BL 112.56 ± 4.56 cm, SH 120.06 ± 4.94 cm,CC 149.63 ± 7.77cm, and BW 289.93 ± 42.22 kg). The conclusion of this research is the qualitative and quantitative performance of Ongole grade cattle and male Limousin crossbreed there is difference significantly different (P <0,01), in Limpo cattle is higher than PO.  Keywords: Limpo cattle, Ongole grade cattle, Qualitative character, and Quantitative character.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine: 1) the effect of cassava leaves silage addition in feed based on palm oil waste to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein; 2) the effect of cassava leave silages and micro organic mineral addition in feed based on palm oil waste to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein. The research was conducted in Mei—July 2016 in the Cattle and Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Treatment used are R0 control diet, R1 addition of 10% cassava leaves silage, R2 addition of 10% of cassava leaves silage and micro organic mineral (Zn 40 ppm, Cu 10 ppm, Se 0,10 ppm, Cr 0,30 ppm).  Data were analyzed by Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0.05 and 0.01.  The result showed that the addition of 10% cassava leaves silage in feed based on palm oil waste no giving a significant result (P<0.05) to digestibility of crude fiber, where as significant effect on crude protein. The addition of 10% cassava leaves silage and micro organic mineral in feed based on palm oil waste also giving a significant result (P<0.05) to digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein. Keywords: Cassava Leaves Silage, Micro Organic Mineral, Palm Oil Waste, Digestibility

Abstract

The research aims to know the effect of using leaf meal of Indigofera zollingeriana in rations on internal egg quality and know optimal treatment on the internal egg quality. This research was conducted on April-June 2017 covering step of Indigofera zollingeriana meal production in Manunggal Farmer Group, Purwodadi Village, Adiluwih Sub-district, Pringsewu District and step of feeding trial treatment ration in laying hens farm CV. Varia Agung Jaya Farm, Varia Agung Village, Seputih Mataram Sub District, Central Lampung District. Fourty eight laying hens at 32 weeks of age used. This research use Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replication leaf meal Indigofera zollingeriana R0: 0%; R1: 5%; R2: 10%; R3: 15%. Obtained  data were analyzed with the assumptions of variance by 5% or 1%, the results were significantly different in the advanced test using orthogonal polynomials, and showed that the albumen index and yolk index value was not significantly different (P> 0,05), and the yolk color score was very significant (P <0,01) with regression equation ŷ = 7,33 + 1,83x.  Obtained the highest point that is on use of leaf meal Indigofera zollingeriana in a rations of 15% increase of yolk color. Keywords:  Indigofera zollingeriana leaf, Rations, Eggs and Internal Egg Quality
