Abstract

Floods are one of Indonesia's most frequent natural disasters, especially in densely populated cities. Major floods in February 2023 hit Cempaka and Gunung Kupang Districts. To overcome this problem, the government built the Cempaka Embung and the Gunung Kupang Embung to control flooding and increase water infiltration into the ground. Land use changes upstream of the reservoir greatly affect the reservoir, especially land erosion and sedimentation that enter the reservoir body, which will reduce the performance of the reservoir in reducing flooding. Therefore, erosion and sedimentation analysis is needed to support better management in flood control in Cempaka District. The data used in this study are land use data, soil type data, topographic data, conservation data, and location photos are secondary data. In this study, the rate of erosion and sedimentation was calculated using the USLE method. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the erosion rate of the USLE method in the Cempaka Reservoir was 131.934 tons/ha/year, and the sediment rate was 38.0765 tons/ha/year. In the Gunung Kupang Reservoir, the USLE method erosion rate was 18,790 tons/ha/year, and the sediment rate was 6,057 tons/ha/year.Keywords: Watershed Erosion, Reservoir Sediment, USLE, Reservoir

Abstract

The Kampung Banjar Reservoir and Kebun Raya Reservoir were built to address the disrupted water catchment areas caused by land clearing for the development of the South Kalimantan Province Government office area in Banjarbaru. These two reservoirs are planned to function as water catchment areas, water tourism destinations, and raw water sources within the office areas. The water availability in the reservoirs is expected to remain stable. Therefore, a study on the water availability analysis of both reservoirs is necessary to ensure that the stored water can be utilized optimally and sustainably, particularly for tourism purposes. The research methodology includes data collection, data analysis, results, and discussion. The analysis phase involves evapotranspiration analysis, water availability analysis using the F. J. Mock method, and dependable flow analysis. Based on the flow simulation calculations using the F. J. Mock method, a 90% dependable flow was selected for raw water rEquationuirements. The largest dependable flow occurs in December, with a flow value of 0.1557 m³/second for the Kampung Banjar Reservoir and 0.2028 m³/second for the Kebun Raya.  Keywords: Water Availability, Dependable Flow, Kampung Banjar Reservoir, Kebun Raya Reservoir.

Abstract

In an effort to meet the deadline for the Banjarmasin – Martapura Road Reconstruction Project Section II, the implementing party often accelerates the schedule by implementing an overtime work system. To determine the labor productivity of the Banjarmasin – Martapura Road Reconstruction Project Section II, this study uses the partial productivity method. This method compares the time used per day as the input value with the amount of work produced each day as the output value. The results of the calculation obtained from the productivity analysis using a partial approach are obtained that the average productivity of normal working hours in paving work is 15,923 m3/hour and in road shoulder casting work is 1,877 m3/hour. The average productivity of overtime working hours for paving work was 16,285 m3/hour and for casting work was 2,190 m3/hour. From the results obtained, it is known that the productivity value of overtime working hours is greater than the productivity of normal working hours, this is due to obstacles that occur, namely the asphalt and concrete production process from AMP (Asphalt Mixing Plant) which is late because the engine that often breaks down is also because this road project is in the middle of a dense community so that the material process to the location often experiences delays. By implementing overtime working hours, the labor wage budget increased by 86.717%. However, the amount of overtime wages implemented by the Banjarmasin – Martapura Road Reconstruction Project Section II is not in accordance with the amount of wages according to the provisions of Government Regulation No. 35 of 2021. Keywords: Partial productivity, overtime work, overtime wages, labor

Abstract

The bearing capacity of a foundation is influenced by the diameter and straightness of the pile because the bearing capacity is highly dependent on the resistance of the pile tip and the resistance of the pile cover and the shape of the pile affects the strength of the foundation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the value of the bearing capacity of the pile foundation on the cross-sectional area and the effect of pile misalignment. The method used in this study is the descriptive analysis method. Data were collected from laboratory tests with a comparison of the field scale. The manufacture of pile test specimens with each variation was 10%, 25%, 50%, and 75%.From the test results, the variation in the cross-sectional area affected the bearing capacity value which increased as the variation in the cross-sectional area increased. As for the test results, the variation in the straightness of the pile affected the bearing capacity value which decreased as the variation in the pile misalignment increased. Keywords:bearing capacity, cross-sectional area, straightness, clay soil, laboratory tests, piles.

Abstract

The Guntung Payung River in Banjarbaru City has undergone a structural cross-section modification from a box culvert to a bridge to address flooding caused by the inability of the existing cross-section to accommodate peak rainfall discharge. This study employed a Steady Flow 1D hydraulic simulation using HEC-RAS version 6.5 to analyze the impact of structural cross-section changes on water surface elevation and flood inundation area. The data used included river cross-section measurements, maximum daily rainfall over the past 20 years, and a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) map. The design discharge was calculated using the Rational Method for return periods of 2, 5, 10, 20, and 25 years. The results indicated that, for a 25-year return period, the water surface elevation at the downstream section (STA 0+190.75) decreased from 5.05 m to 3.75 m, and the inundation area was reduced by 61.15%. Conversely, the upstream section (STA 0+3116) showed no significant changes in water surface elevation or inundation area. These results indicate that the cross-section structure change is more effective in reducing flood potential downstream but does not impact the upstream area. Keywords: Guntung Payung River, HEC-RAS, Steady Flow 1D, cross-section structure change, water surface elevation, inundation area.
