Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of psychological distress on sleep quality among workers and to examine the role of sleep hygiene as a moderating variable. The approach used is a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study sample involved 162 workers in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Tangerang areas, selected using convenience sampling. Variable measurements were conducted using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Sleep Hygiene Practice Scale (SHPS), and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10). Data analysis included partial t-tests to identify relationships between variables and interaction tests to assess moderating effects. The study results indicate that psychological distress has a negative and significant effect on sleep quality (β = 0.392; p < 0.05). This means that the higher the level of psychological distress, the lower the individual’s sleep quality. In addition, sleep hygiene was also found to have a positive and significant effect on sleep quality, but it did not act as a moderator in the relationship between psychological distress and sleep quality. These findings confirm that the implementation of healthy sleep practices can help improve sleep quality, but cannot completely mitigate the negative impact of psychological distress on sleep quality.

Abstract

Subjective well-being plays a crucial role in supporting students’ psychological adaptation and academic performance, particularly withincomplex multicultural environments. While diverse social interactions can foster tolerance, they may also present challenges such asalienation or conflict that impact students’ happiness. Therefore, this study investigates how social diversity influences the subjective well-being of undergraduates residing in East Java’s multicultural areas. Employing a quantitative method with a linear regression model, the study involved 154 active undergraduates (aged 18-25) recruited via convenience sampling. The data were gathered using scales assessing social diversity (α =0.70) and subjective well-being (α =0.90). Statistical analysis revealed that social diversity significantly andpositively predicts student well-being (β=0.55, p<0.001) explained by an R2 value of 16%. This finding indicates that the greater the experience of social diversity possessed by students, the higher their level of subjective well being.

Abstract

Psychological well-being plays an important role in adolescent growth. Adolescents at a psychologically vulnerable age need the full support of their parents, especially their fathers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of forgiveness on the psychological well-being of adolescents without a father’s involvement. This study used a quantitative approach with convenience sampling. The data used in this study were collected from 299 respondents using Mccullough’s Transgression Related InterpersonalMotivation Scale (TRIMS-18) and Ryff and Keyes’ Psychological Well-Being Scale. Data analysis was performed using simple linearregression tests. The results of this study show that there is a significant effect of forgiveness on the psychological well-being of adolescents without father’s involvement, with a significance value of p=0,000 (p=<0,05) and an R Square of 0.166. The findings from this study indicate that forgiveness plays a role as a psychological factor that can support the improvement of psychological well-being in adolescents who grow up without a father figure. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for consideration inthe development of psychological counseling and intervention for adolescents in similar circumstances.

Abstract

Online pornography use represents a form of media consumption involving sexual content that can influence how individuals perceive and express their sexual behavior. The increasing accessibility of online pornographic content among young men raises concerns about the escalation of risky sexual behaviors. This study aims to examine the relationship between online pornography use and risky sexual behavior among unmarried men. This research employed a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 387 male respondents aged 16–35 years. The instruments used were the Internet Pornography Questionnaire (IPQ) and the Sexual Risk Survey (SRS), and data were analyzed using the Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between online pornography use and risky sexual behavior (ρ<0.05). These findings indicate that a higher level of acceptance toward pornography is associated with a greater tendency for individuals to engage in risky sexual behaviors. This study highlights the importance of sexual literacy and the enhancement of self-control as preventive efforts to mitigate the negative impacts of online pornography use among unmarried men.
