Abstract

In order to assess the value and effects of an implemented institutional extension program, it needs to be evaluated after some time. This study aims to investigate the level of program outputs and impacts of programs in an adopted community of a local college. It also attempts to discover the relationship between the level of program outputs and the impacts of the programs economically and socially. The investigators used a descriptive-correlation research design among conveniently selected respondents in a small suburban community for the survey. This study also adapted and modified an instrument and used SPSS 23 for the statistical calculation of the study. The investigation revealed that all of the community extension program outputs by the institution got "very satisfactory" remarks from the respondents. As for the economic and social impact of the programs of the community extension services, it also obtained a "very satisfactory" response. Statistical inferences also revealed a moderate positive correlation between program outputs' level with the program's economic and social impact and the community extension services. The investigators provided relevant recommendations for sustainability and support based on the study results.

Abstract

Vaccine's acceptance is affected by several factors such as their knowledge and perception of the possible spread of Covid-19, perception of vaccine safety, logistics, perception of vaccine efficacy and perceived risk, etc. A source of knowledge that has the potential to influence public acceptance or rejection of the Covid-19 vaccine, it is critical to disseminate clear and reliable information about vaccine safety and efficacy to gain public trust. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and information exposure with community participation in the Covid-19 vaccination program. Quantitative research using analytical descriptive with cross-sectional approach. The research was carried out in the province of South Kalimantan. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total sample of 252 respondents. Data collection is done online using a questionnaire instrument via Google Form. Fisher exact test was used as statistical test with CI: 95% (α: 0.05). There is a relationship between knowledge and participation in the vaccination program (p-value: 0.023 < 0.05). There is no relationship between attitude (p-value: 0.168 > 0.05) and information exposure (p-value: 0.280 > 0.05) with participation in the vaccination program. The availability of transparent information on vaccine efficiency and safety can play a key role for everyone to be encouraged to vaccinate without hesitation.

Abstract

Gele, pronounced gay-lay, is simply head covering, typified and rooted in feminine fashion of the Yoruba, home and abroad. It is the ultimate apparel adorned by the female folks of all age, class and status; giving acclaimed quintessential top notch appeal, deserving of a true Yoruba dress. Gele congruity in female dressing is unequivocably material to recent proclivity and self expressions as observed in generation and regenerations of well over thirty stylish gele ideas and innovations. In view of the latter, this paper examines gele stylistic inclination; using Ibadan as its case in point, being the largest city state in modern Yoruba history. The methodology adopted was triangular approaches of participatory field investigation, online survey and artistic visualisation. Gele adherents and stylists of Ibadan metropolis were physically interviewed, figures sourced virtually and appraised artistically. Eight gele styles were shortlisted and stylistically visualised. Findings revealed dynamism in prevailing gele styles, with apparent classic and comely finesse on beholders. Consequently, this paper hopes it finding will help promotes gele styling among teeming youths locally and globally; provoking studies on the subject matter.
