Abstract

The development of information technology has driven the growth of email-based communica-tion in business environments, including at Inti Everspring Indonesia. However, the high volume of incoming emails increases the potential for spam messages that may disrupt work effectiveness and data security. This study develops a spam detection system on the company’s website by ap-plying the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm. SVM was selected because of its ability to perform text classification efficiently. The dataset used in this research comes from the company’s internal emails, consisting of labeled spam and non-spam messages. Since the dataset is imbal-anced, an oversampling process was applied, followed by text preprocessing steps including case folding, tokenization, removal of stop words, symbols, numbers, and stemming. The model was then trained using the SVM algorithm, and its performance was evaluated using several metrics: accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-score. Based on the experiments, the SVM-based spam detec-tion model achieved 100% precision, 100% recall, and a 100% F1-score. To validate the reliabil-ity of the algorithm, SVM performance was compared with BERT and Naïve Bayes. BERT achieved 96% accuracy, and Naïve Bayes achieved 97% accuracy. These results indicate that SVM is capable of classifying messages accurately, and SVM outperforms both algorithms.

Abstract

Understanding the solar system remains challenging for elementary school students due to the abstract, spatial, and three-dimensional nature of astronomical concepts, which are often difficult to convey through conventional learning media. In response to this challenge, this study aims to develop and evaluate an Augmented Reality (AR)–based solar system flashcard learning media to support interactive and meaningful science learning at the elementary level. The learning media was developed using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which consists of concept formulation, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution stages. The AR application integrates three-dimensional planetary visualizations with flashcards to facili-tate concrete representation of abstract concepts and enhance student engagement. The evaluation focused on usability and learning support through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), involving 10 elementary school students and employing a 3-point Likert scale questionnaire. The results indi-cate that the AR-based flashcard media is easy to use, functions reliably, and effectively supports students’ understanding of solar system concepts. Students reported positive experiences in in-teracting with the learning media, suggesting its potential to improve motivation and conceptual comprehension in science learning. This study contributes to the development of innovative digi-tal learning media that promotes inclusive and quality education by integrating emerging tech-nologies into early science instruction. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, the proposed AR-based learning media supports equitable access to engaging educational re-sources and enhances learning quality through interactive, technology-enabled instruction for elementary students.

Abstract

This study analyzes and compares the performance of Round Robin (RR) and Weighted Round Robin (WRR) load balancing algorithms in a multi-WAN network environment using MikroTik devices. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of both algorithms in distributing network traffic across internet links with unequal bandwidth capacities. The experimental setup consisted of two ISP connections with bandwidths of 10 Mbps and 20 Mbps, configured on a MikroTik RB750Gr3 router. Performance evaluation was conducted using key network parameters, in-cluding packet loss, Latency, bandwidth utilization, and CPU load. The results show that the Round Robin algorithm, which distributes traffic evenly without considering link capacity, leads to high packet loss and unstable Latency, particularly on the lower-bandwidth link. In contrast, the Weighted Round Robin algorithm, which allocates traffic proportionally based on bandwidth capacity using a 1:2 ratio, demonstrates significantly better performance. WRR reduces packet loss by up to 4–6 times, provides more stable Latency, optimizes bandwidth utilization, and re-sults in lower CPU load on the router. Although WRR requires more complex configuration, the findings indicate that it is more suitable and efficient for multi-WAN networks with significant bandwidth differences between ISP links.

Abstract

This study aims to design and build a website-based laboratory asset management information system at the Information Systems Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University. The main problem with the current system is that the asset management process is still carried out manually, resulting in delays in recording, potential data errors, and limited access to information. In addition, the lack of an integrated system capable of supporting real-time asset management indicates a gap between the need for effective asset management and current system capabilities. The system development method used is the Fountain Model, which is iterative and flexible in supporting the software design and development process. System evalua-tion was conducted using the Black-Box Testing method to assess the suitability of system func-tions, and the System Usability Scale (SUS) to measure system usability from the user perspective. The test results showed that all system features run according to the functional requirements, with no critical errors found during Black Box testing. In addition, the evaluation results using the SUS method yielded a score of 82.5, which falls within the excellent category and indicates that the sys-tem is easy to use and acceptable to users. The implementation of this system also improved the ef-ficiency of the asset management process, sped up data retrieval, and reduced the risk of recording errors compared to the previous manual system. Thus, the developed information system not only addresses asset management problems but also improves service quality and data-driven deci-sion-making in the laboratory environment.

Abstract

History education in Indonesia still tends to be one-sided and lacks interactivity, which can di-minish interest in studying history. In this game, players will take on the role of a fictional young Balinese character who fought to defend Indonesia’s independence in Bali. This study aims to cre-ate an educational game with a branching narrative about the history of the Puputan Margarana. The contribution of this research lies in the application of branching narratives to explore the his-torical story of the Puputan Margarana interactively. This game was developed using a branching narrative with a Branch and Bottleneck narrative pattern for the Windows and WebGL platforms. An evaluation was conducted on 21 junior high school student respondents using the GUESS-18 instrument. The game evaluation results showed an average total score of 4.10 on a 5-point scale, with the Stealth dimension receiving the highest score of 4.24 and the Enjoyment dimension re-ceiving the lowest score of 3.90. Validity test results for the additional dimensions showed that all items were valid (r > 0.443; p < 0.05), and reliability tests confirmed that the additional dimen-sions were reliable (alpha > 0.7). The research results indicate that the developed educational game received a positive response from players.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis of student feedback plays an important role in evaluating the quality of teach-ing and learning processes in higher education. Qualitative comments in Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) provide deeper insights than numerical ratings. However, they are expressed in unstructured textual form, making large-scale analysis difficult to conduct consistently and sys-tematically. Therefore, Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches are required to automati-cally identify sentiment tendencies within student comments. This study aims to compare the per-formance of Gaussian Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms for classifying sentiment in SET comments using IndoBERT-based text embeddings. The research follows the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) framework, including stages of data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment. Text comments were preprocessed and transformed into numerical vectors using IndoBERT Sentence-BERT em-beddings to capture contextual semantic relationships between words. These embeddings were then used as input features for both classification algorithms. Evaluation results show that the In-doBERT + SVM model achieved an accuracy of 93.88%, outperforming IndoBERT + Naive Bayes which obtained 92.40%. The SVM model also demonstrated more balanced precision, recall, and F1-score values across sentiment classes. These findings indicate that SVM is more effective in uti-lizing high-dimensional contextual embeddings for sentiment classification of student feedback.

Abstract

Drosera sessilifolia is a carnivorous plant that requires optimal environmental conditions, par-ticularly in terms of light intensity, temperature, and water level. This study aims to utilize the In-ternet of Things (IoT) to implement an environmental control system using Type-2 Fuzzy Logic for monitoring and controlling the environmental parameters of Drosera sessilifolia. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller supported by several sensors, including a DS18B20 temperature sensor, an LDR light intensity sensor, and a water level sensor, to monitor environmental parameters ac-curately. The acquired data are processed using the Type-2 Fuzzy method to generate control deci-sions for actuators such as a heater, peltier, lamp, peristaltic pump, and fan. The Blynk platform is used to display environmental conditions, including temperature, light intensity, water level, and actuator decision status in real time. Based on the results of a 7-day indoor test conducted in the morning and at night, the average morning temperature was 30.04°C and the average nighttime temperature was 27.91°C, while the average light intensity was 1278 ADC in the morning and 2525.43 ADC at night, and the average water level was 1.16 cm in the morning and 0.99 cm at night. Based on 14 observations over 7 days, the system showed appropriate control responses in all observed scenarios, resulting in a 100% response success rate for the detected conditions. The novelty of this study lies in the implementation of an IoT-based Type-2 Fuzzy system specifically designed for the indoor cultivation of Drosera sessilifolia by simultaneously controlling temper-ature, light intensity, and water level. In addition, this study highlights the novelty of integrating Type-2 Fuzzy Logic and IoT for carnivorous plants, which remains very limited, especially for the cultivation of Drosera sessilifolia in a controlled indoor environment. The test results show that the system is capable of controlling temperature, light intensity, and water level effectively and responsively to environmental changes. The Type-2 Fuzzy method also produces stable and adap-tive control decisions. This system offers a solution for real-time indoor monitoring and environ-mental control of Drosera sessilifolia.
