Abstract

Cultural literacy is an individual's ability to understand and behave towards a nation's culture as part of national identity. This research aims to analyze the impact of the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by Balinese songs on the cultural literacy of elementary school students. The type of research is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The research population was 162 grade V students. Samples were taken using the Random Sampling technique with an intact group. The data collection method uses multiple-choice objective tests. Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistics (t-test). The results of the data analysis showed that the average pre-test score for the experimental group was 13.57 in the low category, and the average pre-test score for the control group was 13.93, which was in the low category. The post-test average of the experimental group was 20.038, which was in the medium category, while the post-test average of the control group was 16.103, which was in the low category. The results of the t-test analysis showed that the t-count (3.448) was greater than the t-table (2.005), so H0 was rejected, and H1 was accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence between the group taught using the Snowball Throwing model assisted by Balinese songs and the group not taught using the Snowball Throwing model assisted by Balinese regional songs in elementary school students

Abstract

Amidst growing global challenges, multiculturalism and intolerance play a significant role in shaping a diverse society. Conflicts of interest and cultural differences often lead to intolerance, affecting social interactions and public policy. This research explores multiculturalism and intolerance to understand diversity dynamics in society. It utilizes a literature review, analyzing various journal articles and books relevant to the research topic. Additionally, this research reveals the complexity of the relationship between multiculturalism and intolerance. Factors such as cultural differences, identity politics, conflicts of interest, and social injustice are the main influences on the tolerance level in society. This research aims to analyze how these factors interact, evaluate their impact on multiculturalism and tolerance, and create strategies to enhance multicultural education and inclusive public policies. These findings emphasize the importance of multicultural education and inclusive public policy in promoting cross-cultural understanding and reducing prejudice. The implications of this research are the need for collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and civil society to strengthen multicultural education and implement inclusive policies that support tolerance and harmony between cultural groups. This research provides essential insights for strengthening multiculturalism and addressing societal intolerance through an approach focused on inclusivity and social justice.

Abstract

The relationship between biblical courtship and spiritual entities is multifaceted and interconnected. In Christian courtship, this means being mindful of the other person's needs and desires and working together to build a relationship that is centered on mutual respect and support. The focus of this paper is to analyze Philippians 2:3-4 and examine the relationship between biblical courtship and spiritual entities. This research uses a descriptive method. Data collection in this research as primary data uses document analysis and also supported by secondary data from previous research. Data analysis process is through classifications, interpretation, compare the data, and analyze the context and meaning. The result found exegesis of Philippians 2:3-4 provides valuable guidance for Christian courtship by embracing humility, selflessness and spiritual practices to cultivate the qualities necessary for a healthy and loving relationship with another person. Biblical courtship would prioritize empathy, compassion, communication, practicing forgiveness, seeking to understand and meet the needs of one's partner. Spiritual entities provide guidance and tools for individuals to cultivate a deeper relationship with God and their partners by cultivating a deep and abiding relationship with God and prioritizing spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study and worship. By incorporating these practices and principles into courtship, couples can build a strong foundation for a lifelong, Christ-centered relationship. In conclusion, biblical courtship should be grounded in a biblical worldview with individuals seeking to align their values and priorities with those of Christ.

Abstract

The society's beliefs in Java regarding traditions related to Islamic education values can be diverse and complex due to Java's rich cultural and historical background with various beliefs. Therefore, it is important to note that each group or community in Java may have different perspectives on traditions and Islamic educational values. This research aims to analyze the history, process, and Islamic educational values found in the Becekan Rajab tradition in Javanese society. The research uses a qualitative method with field research. The results of the study show that the Becekan tradition historically originated from the instinct of an ancestor named Mbah Pucet, the first Village Head of Kaliwungukidul Ngombol Purworejo, around 1930. This tradition is part of the village's traditional ritual or village cleansing, which is held every 27th of Rajab. The series of the Becekan tradition ceremony begins with cleaning the graves, slaughtering a goat at the gravesite, reciting Yasin Tahlil, and holding religious lectures. Islamic educational values present in the Becekan tradition include values of faith, ethics, appreciation for knowledge, humanity, balance, and compassion for all (rahmatan lil’alamin). This research can help Javanese communities understand the Becekan tradition more deeply, including its history, implementation process, and the values it contains. It can broaden people's awareness of local traditions and strengthen their cultural identity.

The subjects in this research were two experts, ten students, and eight elementary school teachers. The data analysis method used is the descriptive analysis method. The research results show that 21st-century learning containing the Tri Kaya Parisudha in the Pancasila learning reference book has very good validity for students in the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program. It is proven by the results of data analysis of the validity test of language and content experts that obtain a very good category. Likewise, the responses of students and teachers in elementary schools show an average score (mean) in the very good category.
