The type of research used was descriptive by giving an overview of iodine levels (KIO3) in salt with a population of all salt sellers in Labakkang District, Pangkep Regency using five samples with sampling techniques, namely purposive sampling conducted with qualitative tests and quantitative tests on August 24, 2018 at the Pharmacy Laboratory of the University of East Indonesia. The results of laboratory tests on iodine levels in salt with a qualitative test showed positive results in all samples and quantitative tests obtained iodine content that in sample C the iodine content was in accordance with SNI standards. In sample B and sample E approaching from the established SNI standard while in samples A and D are far below the SNI standard. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that iodine content in salts produced in Labakkang sub-district, Pangkep regency is only 1 sample that meets SNI standards, namely 30-80 ppm.

Abstract

This research has a background of urinary tract infections in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi, so that the examination uses urine more often when, if the morning is used it will experience storage and allow changes in the composition of the urine and this can affect the results of the examination. In this study, the researcher wanted to find out whether there were differences in the results of leukocyte and erythrocyte examination using urine in the morning and during the strip-dip method in patients with urinary tract infections. The purpose of this study was to compare and determine the results of the examination of urinary leukocytes and erythrocytes using morning urine and the dipstick method in patients with urinary tract infections. This research is a laboratory research. The results of the study were analyzed using the statistical sign test which was carried out at the 95% confidence level. The rejection was 1.96 when compared to the value of z = 0.08 < tc = 1.96. In this case, there was no significant difference in the examination of leukocytes and erythrocytes in urine using morning urine. and from time to time the infection looks for a dye in patients with the urinary tract. Based on the results of the research above, it is recommended that morning urine can be used to examine urine leukocytes and erythrocytes at any time

Abstract

Glucose has many benefits and functions that we need to know, one of which is as an important nutrient without which humans will not have the energy to carry out all activities, but when consumed in excess it can cause harm to the body. The main source of carbohydrates in food comes from plants and only a few are included in animal foods. For example, potatoes, potatoes can be used as an alternative food for people with diabetes mellitus because it can be a substitute for rice. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of glucose in boiled potatoes (Solanum tuberosum) as a substitute for rice for people with diabetes mellitus using spectrophotometry. The samples were analyzed in two types of potatoes. Determination of glucose levels was carried out by UV-Vis spectrophotometry with a maximum wavelength of 540 nm. From the results of the study, sample A had a glucose level of 7.9951 mg/100 gram, while sample B had a glucose level of 8.0682 mg/100 gram. Based on the results of the study, it can be suggested for further researchers to conduct further research on nutritional content, protein content, fat or glucose level analysis using quantitative and qualitative analysis on other types of potatoes

Urea is an important end product of nitrogen metabolism in humans or the end product of protein metabolism. While creatinine is a breakdown product of keratin. The amount of creatinine released by a person every day depends more on total muscle mass or protein metabolism rate. The purpose of this study was to describe the results of urea and creatinine examinations in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. sample. Furthermore, sampling using purposive sampling method, based on sample criteria. The last stage was the analysis of urea and creatinine with laboratory tests using the Dimension EXL 200 Full Automatic tool at Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar. The results showed the relationship or correlation between urea and creatinine was 0.184, the relationship was statistically significant with a significant value of 0.612. This illustrates that in patients with rheumatoid arthritis there is no increase or decrease in urea and creatinine levels.
