Abstract

Triglycerides are a type of fat that can be found in the blood and are also substances stored in tissues as a result of the conversion of most types of fat in the body, triglycerides are the main cause of arterial diseases which are usually compared to cholesterol by using electrophoretic lipoproteins. Immediate administration of statins may reduce plasma lipid levels so that it will produce better outcomes in acute ischemic patients. The aim of the study was to find out the results of the triglyceride level examination at the 4th floor maintenance officer of the General Hospital of Universitas Indonesia Timur Makassar in 2018. The benefits of this research were to increase knowledge and direct experience in conducting research and making scientific papers. The sample in this study was the blood of the 4th floor maintenance staff examined using mindray BS 200E. The samples taken in this study were 5 samples taken using purposive sampling technique and the method used was PAP-GPO (Glycerol Peroxidase Para Amino Phenazone). Based on the research that has been done on the description of the results of the examination of triglyceride levels on the 4th floor of UIT Makassar Hospital Hospital in 2018, triglyceride levels were obtained on the 4th floor care workers, from 5 examination samples the percentage of triglycerides was 80% abnormal and 20 as normal. %.

Abstract

Mangosteen contains a lot of vitamin C. Not only is its beautiful fruit shape and delicious meat taste, mangosteen also has many health benefits, as in the skin part of this fruit there is an antioxidant called xanthone which functions as an antioxidant anti-inflammatory activity no wonder Mangosteen fruit is known as the fruit that has the highest antioxidant content in the world and there are still many benefits contained in this fruit that have great benefits for humans. This type of research is laboratory observation with a descriptive approach that aims to determine the content of vitamin C levels in the mangosteen fruit that is traded on the market in the Eggplant City of Makassar using a UV-Visibel spectrophotometer. From the results of the analysis of the levels of Vitamin C in the mangosteen fruit in the 10gr sample containing vitamin C, that is, 0.05909 mg / gr, and vitamin c needed by the male body 90 mg and perenpuang 75 mg per day. To consumers to consume mangosteen because it can meet the body's needs.

Abstract

Crystalline water ice is freezing at a temperature of 00C or more and can be left back at room temperature. Ice crystals can be used as a supplement for beverages, also can be used as a means to preserve. The Ice Crystals are used as a supplementary material and can be mixed with food or beverages, then the ice crystals must be used to meet the requirements of chemistry, physics and biology. This bacteriological quality of ice is sold in Makassar area. The type of research conducted laboratory observations. After examination of the 3 samples of ice crystals, the results showed the smallest total value of MPN cells / 100 93 ml, and the largest> 2400 cells / 100 ml. The results of microbiological tests according to PERMENKES number 907 of 2002. Based on these results, the public should be more careful in buying ice crystals, more attention to personal hygiene, equipment and shelters ice crystals. Environmental conditions that are less clean place to do business with the dust, fumes and others can be made of contamination and the local health department. marketed.

Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminths are intestinal nematodes which in their life cycle require soil for the ripening process. Worm problems associated with this worm infection are still commonly found. The rate of contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths in vegetables is also still quite high. The process of processing and washing raw vegetables is not ready to eat, making it easier to transmit worm eggs to humans. Cucumber is one suitable substrate because it is often used as fresh vegetables. The purpose of this study is to determine the presence or absence of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in cucumber vegetables at food stalls in Jalan Abdul Kadir, Makassar City and the benefits of this research as information for the public about eggs Soil Transmitted Helminths that have an impact on the health problems of the human body. The type of research conducted is descriptive laboratory observation, which is to carry out laboratory tests to identify the Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in cucumber vegetables at a food stall in Jalan Abdul Kadir, Makassar City. From the analysis of 10 samples of Cucumber vegetables, it shows that in the sample code (A), (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G), (H), (I), and (J), negative. So it can be concluded that there is no contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in 10 samples of cucumber vegetables that have been studied. Suggestions to the public to remain careful in choosing or processing cucumbers which will be used as vegetables.

Abstract

Water is a basic need for human life that is used as drinking water, food additives, as irrigation and as a household need so it is necessary to know the content of the water. Various water sources used for daily needs such as well water can be polluted by waste containing COD and BOD. COD and BOD can cause symptoms of health problems such as typhoid, cholera, dysentery, and even death. This study aims to identify and determine the levels of COD and BOD in well water around tapioca flour mills in Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. There were 2 wells which were the sampling points around the tapioca flour mill, each well location was the closest distance to the tapioca flour mill. The results of the analysis of the levels of COD and BOD obtained in each COD were 40 mg / L and 80 mg / L while in BOD it was 12.8 mg / L and 19.2 mg / L. All well water samples tested by COD and BOD were not obtained levels that exceeded the maximum level.

Abstract

Cholesterol is one of the soft fat compounds, yellow and like wax produced by the body, especially in the liver. Cholesterol is closely related to smoking because smoking can reduce good cholesterol, so that circulating in the body only bad cholesterol. This bad cholesterol if not controlled can be fatal, especially in elderly smokers whose endurance has decreased. The purpose of this study was to find out how the results of the examination of cholesterol levels in elderly smokers in Syekh Yusuf Hospital Gowa Regency. This type of research is a type of laboratory experimental research that is descriptive in nature, namely conducting laboratory tests to determine the results of cholesterol examination in elderly smokers using 10 samples. The results showed that cholesterol levels in elderly smokers were normal or no significant increase and decrease because the patient's immune system was in good condition.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by infection with the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. This disease is one of the oldest diseases known to attack humans. This disease usually attacks the lungs (referred to as pulmonary TB), although in one third of cases, other organs are involved. If properly treated with tuberculosis caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, which is sensitive to drugs, it can practically be cured. The purpose of this study was to determine the total bilirubin levels in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who were treated during the period of blood as much as 10 samples of venous blood using the method of purposive sampling. It can be concluded that 50% of the blood samples of pulmonary tuberculosis patients who have been studied for total bilirubin are found to be normal and as many as 50% of the blood samples of pulmonary tuberculosis patients are in an increased state. It is recommended for patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who are in the treatment period to carry out regular checks of liver function tests and take medication regularly and routinely in accordance with the recommended dosage and consume foods that are nutritious enough to increase endurance.

Abstract

This research has the background of typhoid fever which is a health problem for the community that occurs due to contamination of food and beverages by bacteria, germs, viruses and parasites, such as Salmonella Sp. Terasi is a spice made from shrimp or fish that is processed simply. Salmonella Sp is a microbial pathogen for humans which if ingested and enters the body can cause gatroenteritis infection which shows symptoms such as fever. This type of research is a laboratory observation with a number of shrimp paste samples of 5 samples and taken by porposive sampling with the criteria for a less clean place. This research was carried out at the Makassar Health Laboratory Center on 17 to 21 June 2014 with salmonella sp. Laboratory observation method. The results of the identification study on shrimp paste were not found to be contaminated by Salmonella Sp. This shows that the use of shrimp paste raw materials has been well processed and the equipment used is very much considered clean.

Abstract

Tapes are favorite doing foods society, middle class and middle class people, these foods contain compounds formed due to alcohol because alcohol yeast fermentation. fermentation is the process of energy production in cells under anaerobic conditions (without oxygen). Purpose of this study are: (1). To determine the alcohol content in potatoes that have fermentation tape for 3 days and 6 days. (2). To determine differences in levels alcohol on tape potato that has been fermented for 3 days and 6 days. Based on observations concluded that. (1). to distinguish a tape that fermented for 3 days and 6 days to see the texture visible on the tape is not the same between the tape that fermented for 3 days and 6 days since the longer the fermentation the increasingly soft texture on the tape would not even shaped potato again later taste the tape will be beruba acidity. (2). alcohol content in fermented cassava tape for 3 days and 6 days have different alcohol levels are highest in the tape that fermented for 3 days is 1.87% and the tape that fermented for 6 days is 2.87% while the lowest alcohol content on tape fermented for 3 days is 1.34% and the tape that fermented for 6 days is 2.11%.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the identification of Rhodamin B dyes in the traded terasi at Toddopuli Market, Makassar. The background of this research is that the shrimp paste traded in the Toddopuli market in Makassar may contain Rhodamin B coloring agents, but in fact in the field it shows that almost all unbranded shrimp paste sold in the market are all red and have a rough texture unlike most shrimp paste. Where the community as consumers do not know the impact that will be caused and the danger of Rhodamin B coloring agents for health. This research was conducted to identify the presence of Rhodamin B coloring agent found in the shrimp paste. This type of research is a qualitative research laboratory research that is to describe dyes in shrimp paste using the purposive sampling technique using 5 samples and the method used is Thin Layer Chromatography. From the results of this study, the five tested samples gave positive reactions to Rhodamin B. Therefore, consumers should be careful and more aware of consuming food so that it does not adversely affect health.
