Abstract

Indonesia plans to build solar PV plants to reach 6500 MW capacity by 2025. One of the solar PV applications is systems with battery storage systems. In this system, the battery is an important component of the solar PV system as it stores the energy for use when the sun is unavailable. This article reviews the status of batteries in Indonesia to support the proliferation of solar PV applications. The objective is to compile a battery database for solar PV applications. The database provides insight into technology and the availability of batteries. The database consists of 361 batteries of various technologies such as FLA, VRLA, VRLA gel, VRLA AGM, and Lithium-ion. The most widely available is the VRLA gel. In terms of voltage, batteries are available at 2 to 12 volts and with capacity from 1 to 3000 Ah. The availability of batteries shows that this field is ready to support the development of solar PV with energy storage although the field of battery recycling or its waste management requires more attention.

Abstract

Information systems are very important in this globalization era. Information systems generally can be used as a reference for decision making or to monitor the progress of an activity process. In high education, information systems are no less important than information systems within the company. Higher education is an institution that uses information systems to monitor work systems to improve quality. Higher Education Institute STMIK STIKOM Indonesia has implemented an internal quality assurance system (SPMI). An example of its application is by carrying out an internal quality audit (AMI). To ensure the quality of the application meets the standards and needs of the user, it can be done by performing software testing based on the ISO 25010 standard.

Abstract

The characteristics of wireless channel are determined by multipath propagation. The transmitted signal will be scattered so that it produces fading. Fading influenced by multipath component will cause delay spread which damages the signal. Thus, spread spectrum technology is used by using a bandwidth that is greater than the original signal. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the number of multipath components on orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) codes on multipath fading channels viewed from values and Bit Error Rate (BER) graphs versus Energy Bits per Noise (Eb/No). This study would compare the performance of OVSF code communication system on multipath channels by varying multipath components of 4, 8, 12, 16 and the length of OVSF codes used of 16, 8 and 4. The simulation results showed an increase in BER values when the number of multipath components was added. The more the number of multipath components used, the more the number of reflected signals that will interfere with the desired signal in the receiver. The length of the OVSF code influences the performance of the OVSF code on the multipath fading channel, because each code has a different processing gain value that is affected by the length of the code used

Abstract

The revolution in the automotive industry over time led to more and more electronics to be included in the vehicle and this increased the number and space allocated for cables. Therefore, the in-vehicle cabling network has been replaced with a two-wire bus serial communications protocol called Controller Area Network (CAN). The proposed paper describes the implementation of the CAN controller as a listener to monitor the state of the CAN bus in a real-time approach. The CAN listener obtains the data from the CAN bus by using an external signals converter. The work is realized using development platform called ZedBoard. The controller performs a sequence of processes on the received CAN frames including decoding, buffering and filtering. The processed data is stored in an implemented FIFO to keep the data from loss. After that, the data is sent serially to the processor system over the implemented SPI that connects the controller with the processor of the Zynq-7000 device. A single-threaded, simple operating system is run over the processor to provide a set of libraries and drivers that are utilized to access specific processor functions. It enables the execution of the C code that was written to configure the operation of the onboard display unit. The design procedure and simulation process for the implemented CAN listener is achieved using the Xilinx ISE WebPACK environment, while the final complete design is properly tested and verified by connecting the module to a CAN network consisting of six CAN nodes.

Abstract

Working and doing activities often leave someone busy with no time to do other work, such as cooking rice. Cooking rice is easy, but due to time constraints often make someone not have time to do it. This is because to cook rice in the commonly used rice cooker must be done manually. Starting from pouring rice into the pan, measuring the composition of rice and water accordingly, to pressing the warm mode button to cook button. So, to cook rice, users must spend time on the sidelines of work or activities. Based on these problems, it is necessary to design a new system on rice cookers. A system that combines rice cookers, rice storage, and gallons of water in one device. In addition to the new system that was designed, all preparations for cooking rice which previously had to be done manually can now be done automatically which is entirely controlled using a smartphone via the application. The result of this final project is the percentage of the average accuracy of the load cell sensor in calculating the mass of rice that enters the rice cooker which is 97,22% with an average percentage error of 1,41%. The average accuracy of the flowmeter sensor in calculating the volume of water that enters the rice cooker is 97.76% and the average error is 0.97%. The average time needed for sending data from the application to the automation system is 253 ms.

Abstract

The development of science in the era of globalization is happening so quickly. The ability of humans to develop a variety of science (knowledge) is getting better with the tacit and explicit knowledge. From this development both tacit and explicit knowledge can be combined and varied to a Knowledge Management System. PT SCF (Limited) Palembang branch is a company engaged in the field of inspection and certification services. The problem faced by this company is that the process and media for sharing and transferring knowledge between colleagues is still small and not yet entrenched. This condition makes the company less effective in terms of producing and disseminating knowledge to staff quickly and accurately. Documentation of daily activities and routines are not carried out in a planned and integrated manner. Each department carries out its own activities in its own way, for example storing documentation on a CD, as well as a piece of paper. So the authors are interested in analyzing and designing Web Knowledge Management System. The method used is the object analysis and design method. While the tools for modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The results obtained are a prototype web Knowledge Management System (KMS) that can be a media of information and knowledge sharing related to employee acceptance and training
