Abstract

This paper intends to explain the development of Coastal Video Monitoring System (CoViMoS) with the main characteristics including low-cost and easy implementation. CoViMoS characteristics have been realized using the device IP camera for video image acquisition, and development of software applications with the main features including detection of shoreline and it changes are automatically. This capability was based on segmentation and classification techniques based on data mining. Detection of shoreline is done by segmenting a video image of the beach, to get a cluster of objects, namely land, sea and sky, using Self Organizing Map (SOM) algorithms. The mechanism of classification is done using K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithms to provide the class labels to objects that have been generated on the segmentation process. Furthermore, the classification of land used as a reference object in the detection of costline. Implementation CoViMoS system for monitoring systems in Cucukan Beach, Gianyar regency, have shown that the developed system is able to detect the shoreline and its changes automatically.

Abstract

World energy requirement increased significantly, the main energy source from an oil is very limited. This problem drive an enhancement develop which support small scale generator to be connected near distributed network or near load center. Distributed Generator (DG) is a power plant which have a little capacity range between 15 kW to 10 MW. Basically, DG instalation is one way to fix a voltage profile where an installed DG would inject voltage to a transmission system or electric power distribution. Bali is a tourism area which it’s electric power source got a supply from Java and some large scale plant which use fuel of oil and gas, which until now still needed more of electric energy. An addition small scale generator for Bali is very helpful where economic profit is distribution cost and transmission cost’s reduction, electric cost and saving fuel energy. Technically a distributor of DG must be done correctly and optimal from it’s size or location so that give a maximum result from economic side, minimalizing electricity loss and increase voltage profile which result an electric power quality is improved. For that, in this research will use heuristic optimation with use Quantum Genetic Alghorithm method to placing distributed generator to Bali Electricity Network. To counting electicity loss and voltage profile, a method which used to solve it is Newton Raphson method. The result of this research, DG is installed to feeder which plaed in Abang Sub-District, Karangasem District where Abang Feeder had a total 43a bus which is a part from Bali Distribution System. With using QGA, DG is installed to bus 1, 5, 7, and 302 with each DG capacity is 0,374 MW, 1,894 MW, 1,988 MW and 0,500 MW, after installment of DG, voltage profile can be fixed. Voltage profile for some bus to Abang Feeder could be fixed from 0,83 pu to 0,98 pu. Electricity loss from 1,105 MW become 0,234 MW.

Abstract

The Southern part of Bali especially Badung regency, in addition to having natural beauty and popular tourist attraction, it has a high potential for disaster. The fact is the coastline of Bali in the south is prone to tsunami because Bali is located close to the colliding zone between the Indo-Australian plate and the Eurasia plate, which presents the main source of the local tsunami that could hit the island of Bali. This research undertakes the design and development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) that can provide information and socialization of potential tsunami impact areas and safe gathering places for coastal tourism area in Badung regency. This application is built web-based by using Google Maps API v3. In this Geographic Information System, users can identify potential tsunami impact areas, obtain information on evacuation methods in the event of a tsunami disaster and can find the nearest safe gathering places to do an evacuation. By utilizing geolocation and direction services from Google Maps API v3, simulation of the nearest evacuation route has been successfully built. Evacuation is done by considering two possible evacuation sites. The first possibility is to evacuate to the nearest vertical high building, and the second evacuation site is away from the danger zone (red zone) and towards the safe zone (yellow zone or outside the yellow zone).

Abstract

VoIP (voice over internet protocol) telephone communication using a data network. There is a change in switching from circuit switching technology into packet switching. Phone exchange can now use the Personal Computer equipped VoIP applications. Even the development of mobile phone technology to make VoIP communication can be performed utilizing the Smartphone. VoIP applications commonly use such as WhatsApp, Line etc. However, this application will cut the user data packets and often the quality is not satisfactory due to limited bandwidth and location of the remote server. During this time, Udayana University campus at several locations has been equipped with Hotspot network is mostly used to connect to the Internet. Hotspot network can also be used for voice communications with VoIP technology by adding a VoIP server. This concept not raises communication costs and should produce sound quality will be better because of the close location of the server. Because that researchers need to develop a model of telephone communication network utilizing Smartphone hotspot and students to be able to communicate in a campus environment. Method of this research is to develop a network utilizing hotspots and VoIP telephone exchange using the mini PC installed software FreePBX. On the side of the Smartphone using the free soft phone application and for aircraft used FXS analog phone as a codec. Tests will be performed for the communication between Smartphone and Smartphone to FXS terms of QOS and MOS produced. The results obtained, if the latency and packet loss have a value corresponding to the Real Time Protocol (RTP), the obtained MOS appropriate for the codec used while with the same codec if the value of packet loss and latency results are high then MOS obtained be small or less good quality. So the quality of VoIP is highly dependent on the quality of the signal obtained hotspot. In general, VoIP communication using a Smartphone connected to the server on the network hotspot mini pc can be used as a voice communication on campus.

Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system showed the use of Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) and Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (IDFT) to perform the baseband modulation and demodulation. So that, it can increase and improve the efficiency of the modulation and demodulation. Currently, the OFDM is being utilized in the field of broadband wireless communication, which transmit signals orthogonally, that increases speed of information transmission. It also has high proficiency with high bandwidth and provide large data rates and robust against the multipath delay spread. On the other hand, there are some issues faced OFDM system which are high Peak Average Power Ratio (PAPR), and sensitive to Phase Noise (PN) and Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO). This paper presents Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) performance evaluation in the presence of CFO with two different environment scenarios were used: an AWGN channel and a Rayleigh fading channel. The simulation was performed to evaluate the effects of CFO based on Bit Error Rate (BER) vs. Energy Bit per Noise Ratio (Eb/No). The results showed that for BER degradation caused by CFO effects have presented in our simulation for both AWGN and Rayleigh fading channel.

Abstract

Abstrak - Liquid waste is the result of liquid production which is no longer used, so it must be processed and managed so as not to cause pollution and decrease in environmental quality. The biological wastewater treatment system can use the services of decomposing bacteria. This performance is greatly influenced by several factors, including the amount of waste water, the level of impurities, the availability of oxygen (O2), the type of dirt and so on. Parameters used as standard control of BOD and COD liquid waste standards meet the standards. An aerator in the form of an air pump is used to disperse high-pressure air in liquid waste containing oxygen in the process of aeration effluence, so that when air rises to the surface of the water oxygen binding will occur. The operation of the aerator is generally done manually, so that there is a waste of use of electrical energy. This paper discusses the design of an aerator operating control system on waste quality standards using one input fuzzy logic controller and one output. The main component of the hardware is the Uno type Arduino microcontroller used, with the sensor input in the form of COD and output in the form of long working hours of the aerator. The results obtained indicate that the control device is able to reduce the use of electrical energy by 31.03% and can work well based on the value of small deviations and controls capable of working at a set point of 6-10 hours.
