Abstract

Abstract. The research objectives are: (1) Knowing whether the approach to the mathematical investigation can improve the ability to solve open mathematical problems; (2) Knowing how the level of activity of students and lecturers in learning through a mathematical investigation approach. This type of research is Class Action Research. The research subjects were Students of Mathematics Education FKIP UMSU Academic Year 2018/2019. The object of research is the ability of lecturers to manage student learning and activities in the implementation of learning and the ability of students to solve open mathematical problems through an investigative approach to material numbers. The results of the study show that (1) The approach to the mathematical investigation can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities; (2) The approach to the mathematical investigation can increase the level of student activity. From the results of the initial test the ability to solve open mathematical problems an average value of 3.17, the average value of student cycle I tests is 10.73 (56.66%) students who have the ability to solve open mathematical problems and average test scores the second cycle was 12 (83.33%) students who had the ability to solve open mathematical problems. Based on the conclusions above, this study suggests that consider the application of a mathematical investigation approach in order to improve the quality of mathematics learning.Keywords: Mathematical Investigation, Problem-Solving, Open-Mathematics.

Abstract

The background of this paper is to attract society interest to know the beauty of mathematics that is represented by the diversity of mathematics geometry. Truncated Platonic Solid is one of those geometry which is expected to represent the beauty of mathematics. Truncated Platonic solid is a cut off Platonic Solid (not perfect). Platonic Solid is a geometry that was built by congruent polygon, all of the ribs have an equal lenght, also that same surface angle. Truncated Platonic Solid consist of cut off Tetrahedron, cut off Hexahedron, cutt of Dodecahedron, cut off Octahedron, and cutt off Icosahedron. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan persamaan differensial tak eksak dengan faktor integrasi. kajian penentuan faktor integrasi pada persamaan diferensial eksak dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah penyelesaian dari persamaan differensial. Persamaan diferensial eksak memiliki kasus persamaan diferensial tak eksak, di mana persamaan diferensial tak eksak ini dapat di ubah menjadi persamaan diferensial eksak. Dalam hal ini diperlukan konsep faktor integrasi untuk menyelesaikannya, sehingga dari persamaan diferensial tak eksak dapat di ubah menjadi persaman diferensial eksak. Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of junior high school student class VII-2 of Santo Antonius Jakarta. The method used is class activity observation using think-pair-share (TPS) learning model with the help of autograph. The result shows a classical achievement on the first cycle with 86.7 % with average of 72.43, increase of students that reach the mastery learning achievement criteria of 26 students, increase in classical achievement of 86.67 %, average increase of 56.6 % and there's 19 students with medium increase of understanding, 11 students with high increase of understanding. Teacher's ability on executing the learning process on the first cycle is already categorized as good with 82.81, student observation result is also categorized as good eith 85.35. Keywords: Concept Undersranding, Think Pair Share, Autograph.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe students' mathematical connection abilities reviewed through the application of SAVI learning approach based on environment and expository learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research, in this study consists of three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation phase and the data analysis phase. This study took two parallel classes which were randomly homogeneous by applying different learning methods, namely the experimental and control classes. Based on the results of data processing obtained Fcount for learning is 119,653 with a significance of 0,000 0,05. Then H0 is rejected or Ha is accepted. This means that there are differences in the increase in mathematical connection skills between experimental class students and control class students. Besides that, it can also be concluded that the increase in students' mathematical connection skills through the application of the SAVI learning approach based on environment is higher than the students whose learning uses expository learning.Keywords: Mathematical Connection, SAVI, Environment Based, Expository.

Abstract

Abstract. Mathematical problem solving is a process that includes understanding problems, planning problem solving, solving problems and checking again. Writing this article aims to determine the mathematical problem solving abilities of students by applying interactive learning strategies with collaborative learning techniques a-problem and conventional learning. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a randomized subject design posttest only control group design. Data collection techniques in the form of essay tests by testing hypotheses using the t-test. The results of the hypothesis test concluded that mathematical problem solving ability with the application of interactive learning strategies with collaborative learning technique is a problem better than conventional learning.Keywords: Interactive Learning, Collaborative Techniques Send-a-Problem, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of student learning success by applying the method of mind mapping on the subject of the circle and to find out how the implementation of student learning activities by applying the method of mind mapping on the subject of the circle. The subjects of this study are students of SD Negeri 020580 Binjai which consists of 38 students. The tool used to collect data is a test in the form of a description that consists of 10 questions. From the results of data analysis obtained 16 students the success rate is very high, 9 students success rate high, 12 students the success rate is, 1 student success rate is low and no students who not very low success. Based on the data achievement level of student learning outcomes there are 1 students with low success rate and 37 students with high success rate. In terms of learning completeness obtained by the number of students who complete learning (absorbance ≥ 65%) are as many as 37 students (97.37%) and the number of students who are not complete learning (absorption 65%) is as much as 1 student (2.63% ). Based on criteria mastery level and mastery of learning then it can be concluded the level of students of SD Negeri 020580 Binjai is very high. From the results of classroom observation obtained the implementation of good learning activities with active students at every stage of learning activities.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah meningkat pemahaman siswa pada bangun ruang sisi lengkung tabung dan kerucut dengan penerapan pendekatan problem posing dan apakah penerapan problem posing pada bangun ruang sisi lengkung tabung dan kerucut sudah efektif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa siswi kelas IX-c SMP Negeri 6 Medan yang berjumlah 40 orang  dan objek penelitiannya adalah penerapan pendekatan problem posing dalam meningkatkan pemahaman pada bangun sisi lengkung tabung dan kerucut dari siswa kelas IX semester 1 SMP Negeri 6 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar yang terdiri dari lima butir soal dan observasi dari 3 kali pertemuan. Sebelum tes digunakan, terlebih dahulu divalidasi oleh 3 orang validator yaitu seorang dosen dan dua orang guru matematika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan problem posing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, berarti pemahaman siswa terhadap materi tabung dan kerucut meningkat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan pendekatan problem posing pada bangun sisi lengkung tabung dan kerucut dapat meningkatkan pamahaman siswa di kelas IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan tahun pelajaran 2008/2009. Indikator pencapaian keefektifan penerapan pendekatan problem posing ini didasarkan kepada empat aspek, yaitu: 1) Ketercapaian tingkat penguasaan siswa, 2) Ketuntasan belajar secara keseluruhan tuntas, 3) Ketuntasan pencapaian indikator tercapai, dan 4) Hasil observasi terhadap pembelajaran berjalan dengan baik. Pembelajaran dikatakan efektif  jika empat aspek di atas dipenuhi. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh: 1) Tingkat penguasaan siswa, yaitu siswa menguasai materi mencapai 87,5%, 2) Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara keseluruhan tuntas yaitu 87,5% atau sebanyak 35 siswa dari 40 siswa yang memperoleh skor nilai di atas 68%, 3) Pencapaian indikator tercapai yaitu 80% atau sebanyak 4 indikator yang tercapai dari 5 indikator yang ditentukan, 4) Dari hasil observasi, dimana perhitungan rata-rata untuk aspek observasi, bahwa pembelajaran pada pertemuan I, II, dan III minimal berjalan dengan sangat baik. Sesuai dengan kriteria yang ditentukan maka dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran materi tabung dan kerucut dengan pendekatan problem posing dalam penelitian ini efektif.  Kata KunciPemahaman, Pendekatan Problem Posing.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts by using guided discovery learning based on Toba culture and conventional learning. This research is a quasi experiment research with population of all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Tukka even semester of academic year 2016/2017. The sample of this research is taken by random sampling technique chosen by VIIB class (30 students) as experimental class and class VIIb (34 students) as control class. The instrument used consists of the ability to comprehend the concept of mathematical concepts in the form of description and declared to have fulfilled the validity of the content, and the reliability coefficient. By using different test and descriptive analysis, it was found that the improvement of students' mathematical concept understanding that was taught by guided discovery learning based on Toba culture was higher than conventional learning. Furthermore, it is recommended to the math teacher to use the Toba-based guided discovery learning too as one of the tools to improve students' concept comprehension ability. Keywords. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran guided discovery berbasis budaya Toba dan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tukka semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian ini diambil melalui teknik random sampling sehinggan terpilih kelas VIIb (sebanyak 30 siswa) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIb (sebanyak 34 siswa) sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis berbentuk uraian dan dinyatakan telah memenuhi syarat validitas isi, serta koefisien reliabilitas. Dengan menggunakan uji beda diperoleh hasil bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep  matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran guided discovery berbasis budaya Toba lebih tinggi dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Selanjutnya direkomendasikan kepada guru matematika agar menggunakan pembelajaran guided discovery berbasis budaya Toba sebagai salah satu alat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Kata kunci. Abstract

Abstract. Learning is the process of interaction between students and their environment so that there is a change in behavior towards a better direction. So that in generating a positive response it is necessary to improve the learning model. This research was conducted at the fifth grade IT FAZA AZKIA Elementary School, Kelurahan Hutaraja, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Research uses classroom action research. The study aims to determine how students respond to the use of inquiry-based learning models based on the concept of buying and selling on statistical material. This research resulted in the response of students in the first cycle still not achieving a minimum score of 80%. While the response of students in cycle second the entire response of students has reached a minimum value of 80%.
