Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning style profile of class Descriptive research with a qualitative approach is the method used in this research. This research was carried out in class X at a public high school in Karawang Regency. The subjects used were 36 class X students for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data processing was carried out by giving questionnaires to students and then analyzing them so that 3 students were selected as research subjects until the end, one student with a visual learning style, one student with an auditory learning style and one student with a kinesthetic learning style. Three selected students were given questions regarding Systems of Linear Equations with Three Variables (SPLTV). The selection of research subjects was taken from students in the medium category. Based on the research results, it was found that the learning style that is most widely used is the auditory learning style and the average result of working on SPLTV questions is 49.82, which shows that this value is below the KKM. Thus, students' ability to solve SPLTV questions is in the low category.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and describe how high the mathematical communication skills of Grade IX Middle School (SMP) students are on the material Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). This study involved students in class IX-D at one of the State Middle Schools in Karawang Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year as research subjects. Purposive sampling technique was used to select subjects and obtained 32 students. Qualitative descriptive research was used. The data collection method was carried out using a mathematical communication ability evaluation tool which consisted of three descriptive questions. The data processing technique used descriptive statistics to determine the high, medium and low categories of all students in classes IX-D. It is proven from the result of the students’ mathematical communication skills test that they are in the low classification because they show an average score of 32,00957.

Abstract

As technology continued to advance, the educational landscape evolved, leading to the development of learning management systems, online platforms, and multimedia resources. Blended learning  has since become a cornerstone in educational strategies. The purpose of this study is to describe the research trend data on Blended learning . The Systematic Literature Network Analysis (SLNA) method was employed for the investigation. This study's data is made up of non-time-limited research articles on Blended learning. The articles were retrieved from the Scopus database. The data was evaluated using a bibliometric and network analysis technique with programs R and VOSviewer. The findings indicate that the number of studies and research citations fluctuate. Keyword cluster analysis indicates that the predominant focus of research lies in Blended learning. Simultaneously, the terms 'personnel training' and 'academic performance' exhibit interconnections with inquiries into Blended learning . Subsequent scholarly investigations ought to broaden and elaborate upon facets of Blended learning  conceptualization, assessment methodologies, pedagogical instruction, and organizational backing, to furnish a more exhaustive and all-encompassing research outlook.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who use the 3CM learning model and students who use the direct learning model with a scientific approach, the influence of the 3CM learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities and student learning activities. The type and research design used is quantitative research with a Quasi Experimental design in the form of a Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection instruments were posttest mathematical critical thinking skills and observation sheets of student learning activities. Data analysis techniques in this research are normality test, homogeneity test, independent two-sample t-test, and percentage of student learning activities. The results of the research show that the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who use the 3CM learning model are higher than students who use the direct learning model with a scientific approach, the 3CM learning model has a big influence on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities, and student activities are classified as very active after implementing the 3CM learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ethnomathematics values contained in Sikambang art, which is the traditional art of the people of Sibolga City, North Sumatra. This research is qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. Research data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data will be analyzed in three stages: data reduction, data submission, and verification. Next, the data will be examined based on four criteria: trustworthiness, transferability, dependability, and certainty. The results show that mathematical concepts are inherent in the culture of the people of Sibolga city, namely Sikambang art which has geometric elements, such as angles (acute, right, obtuse), lines (straight, curved, parallel, intersecting), and flat shapes (triangles, rectangles). , square, and circle). By incorporating ethnomathematics into the school curriculum, students' mathematics learning can become more contextual and meaningful. This study also helps maintain Sikambang art as a local cultural heritage that is increasingly marginalized by contemporary developments.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze and visualize research publications on e-modules in mathematics education over the past decade. The data was collected using the keywords "e-module" and "mathematics" from the Scopus database, and 45 documents met the study's eligibility criteria in 2014 - 2024. The bibliometric analysis method was used to analyze the data with the assistance of VOSViewer software. The analysis results revealed a significant increase in the publication of e-modul mathematics research from 2020 to 2023. As an affiliation, the University of Lampung, Indonesia, has the highest number of publications on e-module mathematics in the last decades. Astalini was the only author to publish an article in the journal with the highest rank, Q2, related to e-modules in mathematics. Recently, frequent co-occurrence keywords in research include e-module, STEM, critical thinking, creative thinking, and students. These topics can be used as references for future research, and new keywords such as computational thinking, augmented reality, mathematical literacy, and others can be combined to further expand the scope of research.

Abstract

Students must acquire proficient mathematical problem solving skills to effectively navigate the demands of an evolving world. To address these challenges, it is crucial to implement innovative learning strategies, specifically problem based learning supported by book creator platforms, alongside fostering mathematical problem solving abilities. The research employed a quasi experimental design with a control group, selecting samples via purposive sampling: one experimental class applied problem based learning while another control class underwent conventional teaching methods. The instrument used was a mathematical problem solving ability test consisting of five questions. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, the Mann-Whitney test, and the Run-Test. Findings indicate that implementing problem based learning with book creator platforms enhances learning outcomes compared to traditional methods, promoting comprehensive student engagement and fostering a more interactive classroom environment conducive to enthusiastic learning.

Abstract

Mann Whitney test sig value (2-tailed) 0.00. This means that the GRASPS-based PjBL model significantly improves junior high school students' skills in solving mathematical problems. The integrated learning process involving projects allows students to relate mathematical concepts to real situations, strengthen their understanding of the topics studied, and develop problem-solving and collaboration skills. In conclusion, the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills of VIII grade students whose learning uses the GRASPS-based PjBL model is better than those who use ordinary learning. The implication of this research is the importance of developing learning strategies that encourage active student involvement, linking learning with real contexts, such as problem solving and collaboration in the context of mathematics education.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether the application of the Discovery Learning model supported by the GeoGebra application is effective in improving students' mathematical reasoning skills. When compared with conventional learning models, the results are better. Quantitative methods were used in this research, which was designed as a quasi-experiment. Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Cimahi were the subjects of this research. The sample includes two classes, namely class VIII-K as the experimental class and class VIII-B as the control class. In this research, five test items were used to assess mathematical reasoning abilities as a data collection technique. Data analysis was carried out using Windows IBM SPSS 23 software in the form of Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control. The results of data processing show that in the effective category, students' mathematical reasoning skills improve more when the Discovery Learning learning model is used together with the GeoGebra application compared to using conventional learning models.

Abstract

The low ability of students to solve mathematical problems is the background of this research. The aim of this research is to determine the increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who learn through models Problem Based Learning. The method used is the design experimental method as if experimental with shape non-equivalent control group. The subjects used were class 7D students as the experimental group and class 7J students as the control group at SMP Negeri 33 Bandung. The data collection technique uses mathematical problem solving ability test instruments using ratio and comparison material. The mathematical problem solving ability test was given twice at a time pretest and posttest. Data processing and analysis using applications Microsoft Excel 2021 and software SPSS 26. The results of the research show that the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who learn through models increase Problem Based Learning better than normal learning.
