Abstract

This study aims to determine the ethnomathematics values contained in Sikambang art, which is the traditional art of the people of Sibolga City, North Sumatra. This research is qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. Research data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data will be analyzed in three stages: data reduction, data submission, and verification. Next, the data will be examined based on four criteria: trustworthiness, transferability, dependability, and certainty. The results show that mathematical concepts are inherent in the culture of the people of Sibolga city, namely Sikambang art which has geometric elements, such as angles (acute, right, obtuse), lines (straight, curved, parallel, intersecting), and flat shapes (triangles, rectangles). , square, and circle). By incorporating ethnomathematics into the school curriculum, students' mathematics learning can become more contextual and meaningful. This study also helps maintain Sikambang art as a local cultural heritage that is increasingly marginalized by contemporary developments.

Abstract

This research aims to understand how difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts are related to the metacognitive abilities of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Sibolga for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects consisted of 32 students of class X MIA 2. Data collection was carried out through the use of questionnaires and tests as research instruments. The results of the research show that students with very high metacognitive abilities are able to fulfill all indicators completely, such as restating the concepts studied, classifying objects based on the requirements that form the concept, identifying the properties of operations or concepts, applying concepts logically, providing examples or are not examples of concepts that have been studied, and present concepts in various forms of mathematical representation. Students with high metacognitive abilities are only able to fulfill five of the six existing indicators. Meanwhile, students with moderate metacognitive abilities can only fulfill one indicator, namely providing examples or non-examples of the concepts they have studied

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami model kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan partisipasi tenaga pendidik di sekolah penggerak. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga ingin mengukur tingkat kepuasan tenaga pendidik terhadap penerapan model kepemimpinan tersebut. Dampak dari penerapan model kepemimpinan ini terhadap kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran juga akan dievaluasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi model kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di sekolah penggerak, sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran menyeluruh mengenai efektivitas dan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan kondisi atau fenomena di lapangan secara apa adanya tanpa manipulasi. Data primer diperoleh dari kepala sekolah, pengawas sekolah, guru-guru, staf sekolah, dan komite di SD Negeri 14 Tanjung Medan, sementara data sekunder diperoleh dari dokumen, arsip, dan sumber-sumber tercetak lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai model kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di Sekolah Penggerak, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi model kepemimpinan servant leadership, otentik, adaptif, distributif, dan spiritual yang diterapkan telah berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi, kepuasan, dan kualitas kerja tenaga pendidik dan memiliki dampak positif dalam model kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang diterapkan dan juga mempunyai faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap model kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di sekolah penggerak

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the level of students' argumentation ability to solve surface area and volume problems based on students' initial mathematical abilities. This research focused to discover new things that students do in solving problems based on the level of Toulmin argumentation ability. The methodology for taking subjects in this research was purposive, namely by categories of students with high, medium and low abilities, looking at the students' report cards. Students with a high level of initial argumentation can state claims, evidence and reasoning well but are less able to provide rebuttals. Students with a medium initial level of argumentation are only able to state claims and data well. Meanwhile, students with a low level of initial argumentation always make wrong claims and are not able to show evidence, reasoning and rebuttal to support their claims. High entry level students' argumentation abilities are at level 2 except for the rebuttal component, the rebuttal component is at level 0 where students tend to be unable to make counterclaims and unable to reject false statements. Students' argumentation abilities are not all students' initial argumentation abilities are at level 1, where students' ability to make claims and evidence is at level 2 while the ability to make rebuttals is at level 0. Students' initial argumentation abilities are low at level 0 where students are not able make claims, evidence, reasoning, and rebuttal well.

Abstract

Abstract:Mathematical understanding concept ability must be possessed by students in learning mathematics. This study describes students' ability to understand algebraic concepts. The research method used was qualitative research with research subjects of 30 grade VII MTs TPI Sawit Seberang students. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that students' ability to understand mathematical concepts was still low. Only two indicators have a good rate, namely restating the concept by 67% and giving examples instead of examples by 60%. Students have difficulty in distinguishing elements of algebraic forms, substituting equations, and calculating operations in algebraic form. Schools must be able to facilitate students in learning activities so that students have a good understanding of mathematical concepts. Abstrak:Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika harus dimiliki siswa dalam belajar matematika. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa memahami konsep aljabar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan subyek penelitian 30 siswa kelas VII MTs TPI Sawit Seberang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa masih rendah. Hanya dua indikator yang tingkat ketercapaiannya bagus, yakni menyatakan ulang konsep sebesar 67% dan memberi contoh dan bukan contoh sebesar 60%. Siswa kesulitan dalam membedakan unsur-unsur bentuk aljabar, mensubstitusi persamaan, dan menghitung operasi dalam bentuk aljabar. Sekolah harus mampu memfasilitasi siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga siswa memiliki pemahaman konsep matematika yang baik.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the errors made by students in solving HOTS type mathematics problems using the Newman Theory approach in Class X of SMA Negeri 1 Sibolga. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach which aims to analyze students' errors in solving HOTS type mathematics problems using Newman Theory. Data collection was carried out through tests and interviews. A total of 12 students were selected who became interview subjects, where each student was interrogated regarding their performance in solving the given HOTS questions. Triangulation is used as a technique for checking the validity of the data. The research results show that students' errors in solving HOTS type mathematics problems can be classified into several categories, such as conceptual errors, errors in understanding the questions, and errors in choosing a solution strategy. In addition, factors such as lack of understanding of concepts, confusion in formulating resolution strategies, and time pressure also contribute to the occurrence of these errors.

Abstract

Teachers have a big role in developing and improving students' mathematical logical intelligence skills. However, teachers only focus on using package books in teaching in the classroom. As a result, students do not show a great attitude of enthusiasm, students struggle and are unable to think logically, creatively and innovatively in developing skills when doing math problems. Therefore, researchers are interested in creating a pocket book based on Mathematical Puzzles (TTM) class XI. This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the pocketbook. This research is a research and development or R&D with a 4-D to 3-D model. The results of this study are the calculation value of V Aiken on the validation data of material experts of 0.903 and media experts of 0.8 are classified as feasible to use. Then the results of the calculation of V Aiken student response data of 0.932 and teacher response data of 0.894 are classified as very practical to use during learning. While the calculation of the t-Paired test in the pretest and posttest results obtained the value ,t-count.=6.1807, there is an increase in the mathematical logical intelligence of students so that the book is categorized as very effective. It can be concluded that the pocketbook based on class XI mathematical puzzles can improve the mathematical logical intelligence ability of class XI students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh kelas X MAS PAB-2 Helvetia yang berjunmlah 125 orang siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X MIA-1 dan kelas X MIA-2 yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 orang siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen kemampuan kreatif dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varians (ANAVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Tukey. Hasil Temuan ini menunjukkan: 1) Tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Contekstual Teaching and Learning lebih baik dari pada siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori, 2) Tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Contekstual Teaching and Learning lebih baik dari pada siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori, 3) Tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Contekstual Teaching and Learning lebih baik dari pada siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif; Pemecahan Masalah; Kontekstual; Ekspositori.   ABSTRAK      This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population is all class X MAS PAB-2 Helvetia with a total of 125 students. The sample in this study was class X MIA-1 and class X MIA-2, each of which amounted to 30 students who were taken using the saturated sample technique.Data collection was carried out using the instrument of students' creative abilities and mathematical problem solving abilities. Data analysis was performed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Tukey's test. The results of these findings indicate: 1) The level of creative thinking skills and mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught by the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model is better than students who are taught by the expository learning model, 2) The level of mathematical creative thinking skills of students who are taught using this model. Contextual Teaching and Learning learning is better than students who are taught by expository learning model, 3) The level of mathematical problem solving ability of students who are taught by Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model is better than students who are taught by expository learning model. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan model pembelajaran STAD lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuantitaif, dengan pendekatan quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI MAS YMPI Tanjungbalai yang terdiri dari 2 kelas, dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah Kelas XI-IPA1 (kelas eksperimen 1 sebanyak 25 orang) dan. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis varians (ANAVA). Hasil temuan: Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif dengan pembelejaran Snowball Throwing lebih baik dari pada model pembelajaran STAD dengan Fhitung = 7,994 > Ftabel = 4,04. Simpulan penelitian ini menjelaskan terdapat perbedaan model pembelejaran Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) dan Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. This research is a quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental approach. The population of this research is all class XI MAS YMPI Tanjungbalai which consists of 2 classes, and the sample in this study is Class XI-IPA1 (experimental class 1 as many as 25 people) and. Hypothesis testing is done by analysis of variance (ANOVA). The findings: Creative Thinking Ability with Snowball Throwing learning is better than the STAD learning model with Fcount = 7,994 > Ftable = 4,04. The conclusion of this study explains that there are differences in the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) and Snowball Throwing learning models on students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Firing Line dan Number Head Together di kelas VIII SMP  Muhammadiyah 58 Sukaramai Medan dengan Fhitung (4,275) > Ftabel (4,007); 2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Firing Line dan Number Head Together di kelas VIII SMP  Muhammadiyah 58 Sukaramai Medan dengan Fhitung (4,929) > Ftabel (4,007); 3) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Firing Line dan Number Head Together di kelas VIII SMP  Muhammadiyah 58 Sukaramai Medan Fhitung (11,431) > Ftabel (9,151).
