Abstract

Mann Whitney test sig value (2-tailed) 0.00. This means that the GRASPS-based PjBL model significantly improves junior high school students' skills in solving mathematical problems. The integrated learning process involving projects allows students to relate mathematical concepts to real situations, strengthen their understanding of the topics studied, and develop problem-solving and collaboration skills. In conclusion, the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills of VIII grade students whose learning uses the GRASPS-based PjBL model is better than those who use ordinary learning. The implication of this research is the importance of developing learning strategies that encourage active student involvement, linking learning with real contexts, such as problem solving and collaboration in the context of mathematics education.

Abstract

Nutritional problems are a global issue that affects regions around the world and has a profound impact on the quality of human resources. One of the primary global nutritional challenges is stunting. Cipicung Village is situated in a designated area with a high prevalence of stunting cases. The results of a home visit validation survey conducted by the Culamega Community Health Center revealed that Cipicung Village had the highest number of stunting cases, with 63 children under the age of five. The goal of this community service activity is to encourage community participation in efforts to prevent stunting. This is achieved by promoting regular visits to the posyandu, maintaining a balanced nutritional diet, and emphasizing the importance of implementing Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). The activity employs a lecture-based approach followed by a question and answer session, involving PKK mothers, posyandu cadres, and the general public, particularly those with toddlers. This activity was conducted on July 9, 2023, and was attended by 53 participants. Through the implementation of this educational activity, there has been a significant increase in the audience's knowledge, as evidenced by the pretest-posttest results with a p-value of 0.000. This educational initiative has been successful in enhancing the community's awareness and knowledge after its completion.

Abstract

In modern industrial manufacturing, production efficiency and quality assurance are critical factors for maintaining competitiveness. One key element in this process is the auto strapping machine, which plays a vital role in packaging and securing products for distribution. However, frequent breakdowns and performance inefficiencies in these machines can disrupt operations, leading to increased downtime and production losses. This study applies the Six Sigma methodology, specifically the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach, to optimize the performance of auto strapping machines in a textile industry case study. The research identifies major causes of inefficiencies, including mechanical failures, material inconsistencies, and human factors. Using tools such as Pareto charts and Why-Why analysis, the study pinpoints critical failure points, leading to targeted corrective actions such as enhanced maintenance schedules, operator training, and material quality control. The implementation of these improvements resulted in a significant reduction in defects per million opportunities (DPMO) from 794,288 to 517,281 and an improvement in the sigma level from -0.82 to -0.04. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the Six Sigma framework in identifying root causes of machine inefficiencies and implementing structured improvements. The study contributes valuable insights for industries looking to enhance machine reliability and overall operational efficiency. By standardizing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, manufacturers can reduce downtime, improve product quality, and enhance production sustainability.

Abstract

Most farmers in the Perdana region are engaged in cultivating rice, secondary crops, and other seasonal plants. To produce fertile crops with abundant yields, proper management is essential, such as providing quality and balanced fertilizers. Currently, farmers use chemical fertilizers due to their availability, without considering the long-term negative impacts, which include (1) health problems, (2) soil fertility degradation, (3) water pollution, and (4) destruction of microorganisms. Therefore, KKN student group 07, in collaboration with agricultural extension workers, organized an outreach program in Perdana village to educate farmers about the benefits of organic fertilizers and to train them in making organic fertilizers. The purpose of this education and training is to change the behavior and mindset of farmers in Perdana village to utilize rice plant waste for fertilizer, thereby producing fertile crops, abundant and healthy food, and achieving greater economic efficiency. The education and training employed direct communication techniques and group approaches, including outreach sessions. Evaluation results from pre-tests and post-tests achieved an ideal effectiveness score of 80% and an N-Gain Score of 0.5, indicating a moderate improvement. The outreach activities were conducted smoothly and effectively, and participants were enthusiastic about applying the training results and requested continued support from agricultural extension workers.
