Abstract

In this research, we wanted to see the response of applying petroganic fertilizer to the growth and production of several varieties of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) in Besar II village, Terjun Serdang Bedagai. The study was conducted by a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), with two factors namely: Petroganic Fertilizer Factor (P) with 4 levels, namely: P0= 0 kg/plot (Control), P1= 0.5 tons/ha (50 gram/plot), P2= 1 ton/ha (100 gram/plot) (recommended dose), P3= 1.5 ton/ha (150 gram/plot), Cucumber Variety Factor (V) with 2 levels, namely V1= Harmoni Plus, V2= Monas F1. The growth of cucumber plants due to petroganic fertilizers showed a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter at plant ages 15, 30 and 45 days after planting, fruit length at 45 and 50 days after planting, fruit weight at 40, 45 and 50 days after planting. Petroganic fertilizer had no significant effect on fruit length 40 days after planting. The best petroganic fertilizer treatment is P3 which is 150 gram/plot. The growth of cucumber plants due to the variety treatment showed no significant effect on all parameters, namely plant height and stem diameter at the age of 15, 30 and 45 days after planting and fruit length and fruit weight at 40, 45 and 50 days after planting. The best variety treatment was V2, namely the Monas F1 variety. The interaction between the petroganic fertilizer treatment and the variety treatment had no significant effect on all observed parameters.

Abstract

Penelitian respon pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica rapa L.) terhadap aplikasi pupuk organik cair dari limbah sayuran dan jamur Trichoderma sp. dilaksanakan di Desa Padang Kecamatan Manggeng Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya mulai bulan Oktober sampai November 2022. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah pupuk organik cair untuk limbah sayuran = P0 (kontrol/tanpa perlakuan), P1 (30 ml POC.1-1 air), P2 (40 ml POC.1-1 air), dan P3 (50 ml POC.1-1 air). 1-1 udara). 1 -1 udara). Perlakuan Trichoderma sp = T0 (kontrol/tanpa perlakuan), dan T1 (Trichoderma sp. 50gr/petak), sehingga diperoleh 24 satuan percobaan. Hasil penelitian ini berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun,dan panjang daun dengan mengolah limbah sayuran menjadi pupuk organik cair. Sedangkan aplikasi Trichoderma sp. berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun dan panjang daun. Terdapat interaksi antara keduanya yaitu pada tinggi tanaman dan panjang daun.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase the production of large chilies is to utilize organic sources such as kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata L.). In addition to organic materials, the use of adaptable and high-yielding seeds is also an option in the development of large chili plants. This study aims to determine the effect of giving kirinyuh organic matter and several varieties on the yield components of large chili and the interaction between the two factors. This research was conducted at Experimental Farm 2, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University from May-October 2022. This study used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was the dose of organic matter left (D) consisting of 4 levels, namely control (D0), 10 tons ha-1 (D1), 20 tons ha-1 (D2) and 30 tons ha-1 (D3). The second factor was the chili variety (V) consisting of 3 levels, namely F1 Gada (V1), Anies (V2) and Seloka (V3). The results showed that the dose of kirinyuh organic matter of 10 tons ha-1 was able to increase the diameter of large chili pods. Meanwhile, the dose of kirinyuh organic matter of 30 tonnes ha-1 was able to increase the number of fruits, fruit weight per plant and yield potential of large chilies. The Anies variety gave better results on the characters of fruit number, fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit weight, stalk length and yield potential of large chili plants. While the F1 Gada variety showed better results on fruit length characters. There was no interaction between the doses of kirinyuh organic matter and chili varieties on yield components.

Abstract

One of the reasons for the low productivity of oil palm is the lack of proper technical culture implementation. The implementation of technical culture practices that can be carried out includes stem mounding by creating mound platforms for the oil palm. This study aims to determine the effect of mound bed height on the growth and development of roots in 10-year-old oil palm plants. The research was conducted experimentally using a Non-Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design with 5 levels of mound bed height: 20 cm, 25 cm, 30 cm, 35 cm, and 40 cm. Each treatment was replicated five times, resulting in 25 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of three sample plants, making a total of 75 sample plants. The observed parameters included fresh root weight, dry root weight, the number of primary roots, the length of primary roots, the number of secondary roots, the length of secondary roots, and the number of tertiary roots. The results of the study indicated that the mound bed treatment on 10-year-old oil palm plants in mineral soil, particularly at a height of 40 cm, tended to increase the fresh root weight by 2.45 g, the dry root weight by 0.65 g, the number of tertiary roots by 5.26 strands, the number of primary roots by 2.80 strands, the length of primary roots by 10.0 cm, the number of secondary roots by 2.26 strands, and the length of secondary roots by 2.61 cm.

Abstract

Soil water availability is the basis for plant growth, so its availability is the main key for coffee plants growing in South Malang. Fluctuations in groundwater content, especially in the dynamics of climate change, must be managed so that plant water needs are always met, while remote sensing is able to provide aspects of estimating the condition of soil water content in coffee plantations in South Malang. This research was conducted from July 2019 to October 2019. The water content in coffee plantations can be estimated by combining the vegetation index value and soil surface temperature because coffee plants have shade. The method used in this research is to make a tentative map obtained from the overlay between the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Land Surface Temperature (LST) maps, the data is then regressed with the field results. The selection of research locations is based on the area of the coffee plantation using the smallest pixel, which is in an area of 3 km square meters. Each location of the research location was carried out four times for sampling the soil moisture content. The results showed that the correlation value between water content and the estimation results had a correlation of 0.814, with a regression value of 0.663 and a probability value of 0.9226.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influences of soil processing and giving straw mulch then interaction between these two factors on the growth and yield of soybeans. The first factor were soil processing which consisted of three treatment levels : without tillage, one time tillage, and twice tillage, The second factor were giving straw mulchwhich consisted of three treatment levels: without giving mulch, giving mulch 4 tons per hectare and giving mulch 8 tons per hectare. The number of replicates was three times, there were 9 treatment combinations and 27 experimental units. This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). This research had observed there were height plant, fresh and dry weight Stover, number of pods per stalk, dry weight seeds per plot and dry weight 100 soybean seeds. The results showed that Soil Processing and giving straw mulch had a significant effect on soybean growth and yield. The best growth and yields were obtained by twice tillage it was 212.52 g/plot, while due to the application of mulch, the best growth and yields were 8 tones/ha it was 222.12 g/plot. There was no significant interaction between soil processing and giving straw mulch on all observed to the growth and yield of soybeans.

Abstract

Conventional propagation of patchouli plants has not met the demand for superior seeds. Propagation of superior seeds in a relatively short time can be done using in vitro culture techniques. This research aims to determine the induction of patchouli shoots of Tapaktuan, Lhokseumawe and Sidikalang varieties with Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP) concentrations in vitro. This research was carried out at the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. This research used a Randomized Block Design with a 3x4 factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was patchouli variety which consisted of 3 levels, namely: Tapaktuan, Lhokseumawe, and Sidikalang. The second factor was BAP concentration which consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0 (control), 0.5, 1, and 1.5 mg L-1. The results showed that the percentage of live patchouli explants was 100% in all treatments. The time and percentage of shoot emergence tended to be faster in the Lhokseumawe + BAP 0.5 mgL-1, namely 17.5 days after planting (DAP) and 100%. The number of patchouli explant shoots tended to be high in the Sidikalang + BAP 0.5 mgL-1, namely 12 shoots. The number of patchouli explant leaves tended to be high in the Lhokseumawe + BAP 1 mgL-1, namely 13 sheets. Patchouli explants tended to be taller in the Sidikalang + control, namely 8 cm. The percentage of callus formation tends to be high in the varieties Tapaktuan + BAP 1 mgL-1, Sidikalang + BAP 0.5 mgL-1, Sidikalang + BAP 1 mgL-1, Tapaktuan + BAP 1.5 mgL-1, Sidikalang + BAP 1.5 mgL-1 and Sidikalang + control were above 50% at 4 WAP. The number of patchouli explant roots tended to be high in the Tapaktuan + control, namely 16.50 roots. Keywords: Aceh Patchouli, BAP, Cytokinin, Explant, Patchouli Shoots

Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena .L.) is a type of annual annual vegetable. Efforts that can be made to increase eggplant production apart from extensification, diversification and rehabilitation efforts are also through agricultural intensification efforts. One of the intensification efforts is fertilization. The use of organic fertilizers has a major influence on the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. The application of organic fertilizers is considered to be very supportive of efforts to increase the productivity of agricultural crops. This research was conducted in the experimental field of Alwashliyah University in Simalingkar B from August to November 2022. This research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), Factor I, namely solid organic fertilizer (P) which consists of 5 factors including P1 = Kasgot Fertilizer, P2 = Vermicompost Fertilizer, P3 = Cow Manure, P4 = Chicken Manure, P5 = Rice Husk Biochar. Factor II is variety (V), including V1 = Mustang variety, V2 = Reza variety. The results showed that the use of organic fertilizers had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and number of primary branches. The highest eggplant plant height was in the treatment of using cassava fertilizer, which was 58.78 cm. The use of eggplant plant varieties had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, number of primary branches and stem diameter. The highest number of leaves was found in the Reza variety, which was 11.44 leaves.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the growth and yield of ginger are affected by the growing media and varieties, and how they interact with each other. This research was conducted at the Gayo Lues Laboratory and PSDKU at the University of Syiah Kuala Gayo Lues. The design used in this study was a 4 x 2 Factorial Randomized Block Design with 3 replications, so there were 8 treatment combinations and 24 experimental units with a total of 72 plants. Plant height, number of tillers per clump, main stem diameter, fresh chestnut weight, tuber weight, tuber diameter, and dry chestnut weight were the parameters observed. The results of this study indicated that the media and variety treatment had a very significant effect on plant height at 120 HSPT. Stem diameter and fresh chestnut weight were significantly affected by the varietal treatment, as well as plant height and tuber weight, but not by other parameters. In ginger growth and yield, there was no significant interaction between growing media and varieties. The treatment of citronella waste and coffee peel waste planting media with red ginger varieties produced the best plant growth.
