Abstract

Kidneys are part of the body that has an important role. One of the functions of the kidney is the production of erythropoietin. Erythropoietin stimulates the production of red blood cells. People or patients who have kidney problems can cause anemia. This study aims to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and blood creatinine levels in patients with chronic kidney disease after receiving a transfusion. Blood creatinine levels in this study were used as an index to measure kidney function. The study was conducted at the Wira Tamtama Hospital Semarang by taking data on 20 patients in 2020 with chronic kidney disease and taking data on hemoglobin (cut-off 12 g/dL) and serum creatinine (cut-off 1.5 mg/dL). The relationship between the two was calculated by chi-square test and found 80% of patients with low hemoglobin in patients with high creatinine levels and 0% of patients with low hemoglobin in patients with normal creatinine levels (p=0.040). There is a risk of decreased hemoglobin levels (OR = 3,442) in patients with high creatinine levels. It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between hemoglobin levels and blood creatinine levels and patients with high creatinine levels tended to be at risk of anemia.

Abstract

Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) has recently become a health threat in Indonesia. The clinical management of MDR TB is more complicated than that of ordinary TB. Hepatotoxicity or commonly known as Anti-Tuberculosis Drug-induced Hepatotoxicity (ATDH) is a serious effect of OAT that often occurs. The basic parameter for diagnosing or following up the presence of impaired liver function is the SGPT examination. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of SGPT in MDR-TB patients at the Kendal District Health Center. This study is an observational (non-experimental) study with descriptive research criteria with a cross sectional approach which was conducted on 7 MDR-TB patients at Kendal I Health Center, Kaliwungu Health Center, and South Kaliwungu Health Center with total sampling technique. The results of the study: obtained SGPT levels in 7 patients with MDR-TB there were 7 research respondents (100%) had normal SGPT levels with the lowest level of 2.17 U/L and the highest level of 37.75 U/L and the average level of SGPT ie 18.01 U/L. TB mostly attacks the age group of 56-65 years (57%). Males (57%) were the patients with the most TB cases. The most OAT consumption time was in the continuation phase (100%). Diabetes is a disease that often accompanies TB patients. The conclusion of this study is that from 7 research subjects, MDR-TB patients had SGPT levels that were in the normal range.

Abstract

Hypertension is called the silent killer, often known after complications occur. Based on the results of Riskesdas in 2018, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia at age ≥18 years increased to 34.1% in 2018. Endothelial injury caused by hypertension triggers inflammation or chronic inflammation of the arterial wall. Evidence of an inflammatory process is the discovery of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) which is a marker of inflammation from non-bacterial infections. The purpose of this study to knowing the description of C-Reactive Protein in patients with hypertension through research by Fadhliani (2016), Dolly (2018), Harahap (2019). This paper is a summary of  research result, with the criteria for systematic study research through a systematic review approach. In patients with hypertension according to research Fadhliani (2016) obtained as much as 23% C-Reactive Protein positive and 77% C-Reactive Protein negative. In the Harahap study (2019) of 30 people with hypertension, 12 people (40%) had positive C-Reactive Protein and 18 people (60%) had negative C-Reactive Protein. Whereas in the study of Dolly (2018) the average level of hs-CRP in hypertensive patients is 4, 85 mg / L. According to Dolly's research (2018) in patients with hypertension for > 1 year have higher levels of hs-CRP compared to patients with hypertension for a period of ≤1 years. Examination of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in patients with hypertension in the Harahap study (2019) showed positive CRP results dominated by subjects with age ≥ 50 years as many as 8 people (27%).

Abstract

Of chronic kidney failure is a state of decreased kidney function, where the kidneys are no longer able to excrete the rest of the body's metabolism. In end-stage chronic kidney failure hemodialysis is needed to eliminate the rest of the body's metabolism that accumulates in the blood and reduce the risk of death. The effectiveness of hemodialysis can be seen from the decrease in urea levels after hemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of urea levels before and after hemodialysis in kidney failure patients. This research method uses descriptive observational data collection with URR (Urea Reduction Ratio) involving 130 patients with kidney failure who undergo hemodialysis. This research was conducted in July and October 2019 in the laboratory unit of the Klaten Islamic Hospital. The results There was a decrease in urea levels before and after hemodialysis. Where ureum levels before hemodialysis averaged 133.19 mg / dl and after hemodialysi s averaged 39.74 mg / dl . Conclusions  Urea levels in patients with renal failure before hemodialysis increase / height can be 2 times or more than normal levels, an average of 133.19 mg / dl. Increased urea level increases influenced by several factors, including sex, age, indications such as supplements, medications and diabetes mellitus. Urea levels after hemodialysis  average  39.74 mg / dl resulting in a decrease in urea levels before and after hemodialysis 70,16%.
