Abstract

This paper aims at the effectiveness of the application of the WFh (Work Form Home) work system on the performance of employees at the Medan City Office. In the Medan city education office itself, it has implemented a Work Form Home (WFH) work system that has been running for one year, where only part of the employees who work at the location continue to apply health protocols by always using masks and maintaining distance in carrying out their duties. Meanwhile, some other employees carry out official duties in their respective homes, this is done alternately from day to day. In implementing the Work Form Home (WFH) work system, of course, it has an impact on employee performance problems because it cannot be directly supervised by the institution. Performance problems are seen from various aspects such as the ability of ASN employees to complete their work even though they have to work at home and the improvement in the results that should be obtained for work by employees. Work quality, work motivation and work morale that affect the performance of ASN employees, especially in the Medan City Education Office. The results showed that the WFH (Work Form Home) system implemented at the Medan City Office was less effective in improving employee performance. Keywords: Department of education, effectiveness, performance, work from home (WFH)

Abstract

Zakat is the third pillar of Islam that every Muslim must fulfil as a form of obedience to Allah SWT and a means of equalizing income justice throughout society. Baznas as the manager of the zakat has made a breakthrough in the zakat program by utilizing digital technology, namely zakat payments that can be made online. The purpose of this study is to see how the role, implementation and influence of this digital zakat system on increasing the receipt of zakat funds at Baznas Medan City. This research method uses a qualitative approach. This research is carried out directly into the field to describe in detail certain phenomena and then analyzes them to produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people or observed behaviour. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques and instruments are through interviews and documentation. His research shows that the digitization of zakat acts as a method of collecting zakat funds digitally, which makes it easier for Baznas and muzakki to save time and money. Moreover, to make zakat fund collection more transparent, massive, effective and efficient. The implementation of digitizing zakat at Baznas Medan is through bank transfers, websites, scanning QR codes, and social media. Then the effect of the digitalization system from the website and QR code has not been maximally felt both from Baznas and the community; this is due to the lack of socialization and promotion carried out by Medan City Baznas to the public regarding this digitization system and the existence of some people who do not have the desire to pay their zakat digitally. Keywords: Baznas, Digitalization, Zakat Acceptance

Abstract

This research was conducted to meet the degree requirement of the graduate school program that addresses zakat of e-commerce trading platforms from the Islamic economy perspective. Zakat is the third pillar of Islam and is compulsory for every sane Muslim who has attained Nasab and khaul. There have been many significant changes to the Islamic law to adjust to the current circumstances, one of which is trading activities, which apply the newly built system of technological development using e-commerce. E-Commerce is an online-based trading system using a digital system of the internet and social media to be operated through a computer or gadget. On this account, there are not many studies to discuss zakat of e-commerce trading in the Islamic Economy and the Zakat Nisab of traders who use e-commerce trade. Based on the analysis, several contemporary jurisprudents address this issue, Yusuf Qhardawi, Sayyid Sabiq, and Wahbah Az-Zuhaili. Their arguments are based on some of the most accurate opinions agreed upon by the previous figures. In their view, e-commerce is part of the trade. The only difference lies in the system, although its function remains the same. Therefore, online traders must distribute their zakat funds directly to zakat institutions to accurately calculate how much to pay for the trade zakat. Based on the Islamic reference, it is said that e-commerce is part of the trading system that is used for business. Thus, all economic things that can be taken advantage of shall meet the applicable regulation of trade zakat. On this basis, there are great opportunities for zakat institutions to charge e-commerce traders with trade zakat based on Islamic law. Keywords: E-Commerce, islamic economics

Abstract

The high percentage of educated unemployment rate in North Sumatra who graduated from universities and diplomas is caused by the low supply of employment, high-income expectations, and skills that do not fit into the needs of employment providers. Therefore, students and undergraduates should be able to overcome this problem by becoming entrepreneurs and even creating employment. In other words, students should have an intention in entrepreneurship or an interest in starting a business. This study aimed to determine the influence of several contexts that influence entrepreneurial intentions. This research is quantitative. The number of samples in this study was 68 people from students majoring in Islamic Economics, UIN North Sumatra. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS. This study's results indicate a positive but insignificant influence between the family context variables on entrepreneurial intentions and a positive and significant influence between the educational context variables on entrepreneurial intentions. The constraints variable in starting a business does not significantly affect entrepreneurial intentions. Simultaneously, the context of the family, education, and the barriers to starting a business have significantly affected entrepreneurial intentions, as indicated by the significant value of F <α (0.001 <0.05).
