Abstract

The potential of Marine Fishery in Aceh Barat Daya is a source of income for fishermen in meeting their household needs. The fact shows the great potential fishing has not been able to increase the income and welfare of the fishermen. This study aims at understanding the life of fishermen in terms of income and welfare. The method used in this research is descriptive method of sampling techniques by simple rand om sampling of the population 178 motor boats. The results showed that the income of the fishermen has been already above the poverty line although it is still under the World Bank’s standard. Of the expenditure, the primary need (food) is still greater so that it is concluded that the fishermen’s life is not yet welfare. It also demonstrated the value of the average income sea is below 1, and at 43,75 %  NTN fisherman families under 1. For that reason, there is a need to develop the concept of the poverty line due to  changes in the cost of primary needs such as children’s are concerned(snack), phone credits (communication) and motorcycle fuel (transportation).  as  well as the need to increase the number and size of motor boats in exploiting the potential of fish optimally while increasing the production of fishery products , which in turn increases the income and welfare of fishermen families .

Abstract

Many bussinessman develop the restaurant of seafood in the Palu Town, Central Sulawesi. The production’s fisheries activities yielded high protein products and consumed by community, not only limited to fisheries products but also the processed product with various taste. One of the products of fisheries that distributed in the market were the marine products in The Palu town. The objectives of this study is to analyse the preferences of consumer on the marine products in the Palu town. The study method is the case study (case study with a unit of famous seafood restaurant cases  MJM that located in the Palu town. The sampling method which used in this study was accidental sampling. The type of fisheries product that sold in the Seafood Restaurant of MJM were groupers, snapper fish, baronang, katamba, mangrove’s crabs, shrimps and squid. The interest of marine product was undertaken with analysis of multiple linear regression and yielded F-count > F-Table with level of significance 95% shown concordance of consumer’s interest to attribute of  product. Simultanously, attribute of  product of diversity (X1) = , quality (X2), price (X3), taste (X4), and service (X5) have influenced significantly to preference of consumer whereas partially, the product attribute of quality (X2) possess effect the most dominant with coefficient of  regression value is 0,531 or 53,1%. Thus, the preference of consumer to marine product is quality of fish was level of freshing quality, clean, consumed healthty.

Abstract

Research on current dynamics modelling in Indonesian waters with wind employed as independent variable has been observed. The purpose of this study was to model the hydrodynamic equations due to the influence of the wind in Indonesia waters in the form of visualization described consisting of wind circulation pattern and pattern of current movement in the west and east monsoon season. To analyze the data obtained during the study, researchers used a descriptive approach. The results showed that the west wind season (December, January, and February) blow from the northeast to the southwest then turning southeast. Whereas the east wind season (June, July, and August) blows from the southeast to the northwest and then turn to the northeast. On the surface layer shows the current movement in general follows the movement of the wind direction in which the current speed is very dominant occurred in some waters, such as the Karimata Strait, the Java Sea, the South China Sea, and the Arafuru Sea. The dominant current velocity in the layer of 100-200 m in the water of eastern equator and the South China Sea in the west season has recorded a current speed reaches 20 cm / s. while in the east monsoon which occurs in the equatorial waters of the eastern part, in the Maluku Sea, the Seram Sea and nearby the Arafuru Sea current velocity reaches 40cm / s.

Abstract

Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is one reef fish that can be used as ornamental fish saltwater aquarium. The fish has high economic value because the color is attractive. However, this time facing the difficulty found the seeds found in nature as a result of uncontrolled harvesting, especially in the northwest district of Simeulue. The purpose of this study is a way of domestication of clownfish in a population that is almost extinct (endangered) of wild life (natural habitat) into the cultivation environment to determine the viability of a clownfish by administering salinity 32, 30, 28 and 26 ppt performed for 60 the aquariums in a container measuring 60 cm (long), 40 cm (wide) and 40 cm (high). The results showed that administration of different salinity did not significantly affect survival (p>0.05), while the absolute growth rate and feed conversion showed significant results (p<0.05), the value range of the absolute growth rate was ± 0.0014 to 0.00444 grams of feed conversion has a value range of ± 1,311- 5.190 grams.

Abstract

One source of mercury pollution came from gold mining was done by the community from gold processing through amalgamation. Heavy metals that present in the waters will undergo deposition process and accumulate in marine animals then end up in humans. Meureubo upstream region is one of the locations that still carried out the gold mining activities used mercury. That condition is one potential factor that can contaminate the waters. This study was conducted in October-November 2014. Sampling was taked in Meureubo River and the mercury content analysis was carried out in the Laboratory of Research and Standardization Industry (Baristan) Banda Aceh. The laboratory analysis results showed that the total mercury (Hg) of heavy metals in the freshwater mussels samples (Anodonta sp) on RP station is 0,074 ppm, PP illustrates 0,042 ppm and PA confirms 0.304 ppm. Furthermore, the total mercury (Hg) of heavy metals in the sample freshwater on RP station around 0.0005085 mg/l, PP 0.0001792 mg/l and PA 0.0006711 mg/l. The results showed that the samples of freshwater mussels (Anodonta sp) and the water samples which taken at three stations (Rantau Panjang, Pasi Pinang, Pasi Aceh) were positive for mercury (Hg).

Abstract

This research aims to know the level of fertilization and hatching rate of tawes fish eggs (Puntius javanicus) after cryopreservation sperm in temperature 4oC. This research has been carried out in the mini laboratory (Meunasah Krueng Village of Beutong Subdistrict Nagan Raya Regency) on 19-20 August 2015. This research is both experimental, using a complete Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. Sperm that is used is the result of storage with the dilution of physiological NaCl and green coconuts water including P1 0% NaCl only, P2 3%, P3 5%, P4 7% and P5 9%. The results showed that the addition of green coconut water on sperm storage provides a real effect against fertilization and hatching rate of tawes fish eggs (p < 0.05). The highest levels of fertilization found in the treatment of P4 (64.3%, 0.7 mL of diluent in green coconut water + physiological NaCl solution), while the lowest fertilization found on P1 registration (25%, physiological NaCl solution). For the level of hatching rate, the highest value is found in the treatment of P4 (61.7%), and the lowest is present on the P1 registration (14.3%).
