Abstract

The objective of this developmental research are: (1) to de­scribe the product of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Malang, (2) to describe the feasibil­ity of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Ma­lang, and (3) to describe the use of offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language for X class of SMAN 8 Malang. This study uses a model of Re­search and Development (R&D) by Borg & Gall. The data is verbal and nu­merical data. The instrument used in this study are the researcher and questionnaires. Test subject in this developmental research include: 1) one matter experts, 2) a media expert both lecturers in the De­partment of Arabic Literature UM and 3) high school studies teach­ers who teach the Arabic lan­gu­age; 4) 35 students of Senior High School at X class. The results of this developmental research are the offline web-based instructional media of Arabic language that is in the form of CD. The product is well worth about 93.05% level of eli­gibility. The product is used with the clas­sical and in­de­pendent instructional model.

Abstract

This research highlights the types of questions used by the teacher in Reading Class which focused on teacher’s question, types of the question and the length of students’ responses. The research was conducted at MTs As’adiyah Ereng-Ereng Bantaeng, the researcher chose one English teacher purposively. This research applied qualitative descriptive and discourse analysis as a research design to analyze language, writing, speech, and conversation (verbal and non-verbal). The data was collected through classroom observation and interview. One teacher was involved as a subject of this research. The data were analyzed based on three procedures of data analysis which were involved in data collection, data analysis and interpretation. The result of this research shows that (1) the teacher performed both types of question from Lidya’s Genre of question they are less sophisticated and sophisticated questions. In this research less sophisticated question emerged 328 times in three meetings observation. This level of question become most used level of question because basically the teacher asked question to recall the material that they have been learned before in order to involve the students’ participation and to recall their memory in their teacher and learning process especially memory that related to the words meaning. In contrast, sophisticated question only appeared 106 times. The sophisticated questions demand the students to use their imagination, developed unique ideas, think creatively and making some judgment related to the teaching material based on the specific criterion. (2) The reason why teacher ask questions dominated by checking the students’ understanding about the material. The types of questions asked were determined by pedagogical purposes the teacher wanted to achieve. (3) The question that achieves the longest response was less sophisticated questions (more-than-ten-words) based on the length of students ’responses and followed by sophisticated question (seven-to-ten-words) it means that when this type of question asked, the students’ response was shorter.

Abstract

This research is intended to examine the implementation of the supervision of the headmaster of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Jeneponto, which includes: processes, techniques, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. The type of this research is qualitative and the informants are the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of the madrasah, and two subject teachers. Data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that 1) the process of implementing the supervision of the headmaster of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Jeneponto through three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and meeting back and follow-up. 2) There are two techniques in implementing the supervision of the headmaster, namely individual supervision and group supervision. Individual supervision technique in the form of class visits, inter-class visits, class observations, and individual meetings. Whereas in the group technique, the headmaster uses a meeting between the supervisor (headmaster) and the teachers. 3) The supporting factor for the implementation of the supervision is the readiness of the teacher to receive guidance and assistance from the headmaster; fostering good relations between fellow teachers and madrasah principals; a conducive madrasah climate; completeness of facilities and infrastructure; availability of adequate teachers and staff both in quantity and quality. The inhibiting factor is the limited time due to the many activities/duties of the head of the madrasah both inside and outside the madrasah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of self-concept on deviant behaviour in the students of Ternate State Islamic Institute. The scope was limited to three problems, they were: 1) Self-concept of students of Ternate State Islamic Institute. 2) The deviant behaviour of students of the Ternate State Islamic Institute. 3) The significance level of self-concept influence on student’s deviant behaviour at the Ternate State Islamic Institute. This type of research was field research with a survey approach and psychological sampling technique by using a sampling quota of 77 people. The research instruments were questionnaire and documentation. The analysis techniques were descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results showed that: 1) the students’ self-concept of Ternate State Islamic Institute was in the medium category, it was 57%. 2) The students’ deviant behaviour of Ternate State Islamic Institute was in a low category, it was 8%. Self-concept has a significant effect on deviant behaviour among students of Ternate State Islamic Institute which was14.5%.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the role of parents in educating children with character education in accordance with Islamic education. The method used is descriptive quantitative method with relevant data collection techniques from several scientific articles, books, and news. The results of this study indicate that parental figures greatly influence character education in children. Parents have a significant role in character education in children, that parents as facilitators, motivators, and role models for children. The role of parents is prioritized in educating children’s character given that the era of globalization is so rapid that it can affect the character of the nation’s children. Parents are always expected to be figures capable of internalizing the values of national character and Islamic character in children according to the times. So that children have a foundation that is in accordance with conditions they are currently facing so that it makes children responsive to the character education given by their parents.
